    "Hello everyone welcome to my bloodhunter build guide. So for our 1st level we are going to dip into fighter"
    I could feel everyone watching collectively rolling their eyes when he said that.😂

    I have played a Warforged Order of the Lycan Bloodhunter and I flavoured it so that my Warforged was built with mimic flesh as the organic matter and that allows him to turn into his "Lycan" state by shifting and morphing the metal and flesh that make up the Warforged.

    Fun and easy little tactic you can do if you're a Profane Soul Blood Hunter with The Fathomless patron.
    Rite Focus for the Fathomless patron lets you, once per turn, reduce a creature's speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn when you hit it with a weapon that has an active rite.
    The Slasher feat lets you, once per turn, reduce a creature's speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn when you hit with an attack that does slashing damage.
    So if you take Slasher and have the Fathomless patron you can reduce an enemy's speed by 20 feet, leaving many creatures with only 10 feet of movement, which can be quite debilitating.
    Get the enemy in an area of difficult terrain and this can quickly shut down even a double-dashing rogue.

      You could make it a polearm, multiclass into cleric, and combine with Spirit Shroud for even more reduction. Get within 10 ft of a melee enemy and hit them with an attack and speed is 0. Only works on 1 creature but still funny

    Ik those video is from 2 years ago but I love the flavor of a fiend Patron profane soul blood hunter using a whip and maybe going into Paladin for Find steed and playing Ghost Rider.

    As a warning, in Tasha's they updated BB/GFB to have a range of self instead of 5ft, so RAW spell sniper no longer increases range of BB/GFB to work with reach.

    • @DapperSnapperGaming
      @DapperSnapperGaming  2 года назад

      It does now say self however it also says 5 ft radius. I've spoken to other DMs and it seems to be mixed on what people do. I know Wizards was trying to cancel this interaction for balancing. You're right though RAW they don't want this happening but I've spoken to several DMs who allow this anyway because of the 5 ft radius language included.

    • @Satchel_Gizmo
      @Satchel_Gizmo Год назад

      @@DapperSnapperGaming I allow it purely because people have to build so far into it. You have to be weilding a reach weapon, have warcaster, and spell sniper. 2 feats and a cantrip. It's a pretty hefty cost to build into, and building should be rewarded

    Celestial is my favorite patron. It really acts like a mini paladin imo and I am currently playing one who has cross classed into Cleric Light Domain!

    With the rite focus you use your weapon as the focus of your spells anyway

  • @crazy36069
    @crazy36069 Год назад

    I think Undying is the most consistently useful with its Rite Focus, and the spells it provides can be decent too. And I think Blur is a bit overrated, because it requires concentration, and you could be casting Mirror Image instead.

    I do like the possibility to use wisdom as your hemocraft ability, and my favourite Profan soul would be Genie, followed by fathomless for a ranged build I think

      Yeah being able to choose WIS opens up so many possibilities. The new patrons are super cool!

      Using wisdom would allow for a Cleric dip, which would be pretty good mechanically for Profane Soul (I’d say the Blood Hunter Patron is also the Cleric deity).

  • @jeffchong3901
    @jeffchong3901 2 года назад

    Hey Dapper, I think warcaster has a prerequisite of needing to cast a spell as well. So you may need to move your feats around to fit the build - as you rightly point out, spell sniper also has a prerequisite. I think slasher or GWM at level 1 as your racial feat would work, but I guess that’s DM dependent - who knows if they will accept a 20 in strength at level 1?

    • @DapperSnapperGaming

      You're totally right. Idk how the heck I miss it for 1 and not the other. Yes the build.would work with GWM at 1 instead lol

    Hello, I just wanted some input on the Blood hunter. I'm in a ocean campaign and so far chosen the fathomless patron. My question is though, is what magic items are optimal for a profane soul or the blood hunter in general? Great video and I hope I could get a response.

    • @DapperSnapperGaming
      @DapperSnapperGaming  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey friend! The Fathomless patron is super fun and you should check out another build that I did for more BH inspiration ruclips.net/video/Q12OWmQbMoA/видео.htmlsi=zoVKdWgPJN50IWdt.
      But as far as magic items, the most important thing I would look for is a way to heal passively or raise your max HP to counteract your self inflicted damage. A Periapt of Wound Closure also comes to mind. Same thing with Amulet of Health.
      Extra damage is always nice so magical weapons are great especially if you could find something cursed that helps you heal. Hope this helps!

  • @ExecutiveGoth
    @ExecutiveGoth Год назад

    So I made a goofy build, it’s sadly really bonus action dépendant and am wondering what your recommendation would be! I took 3 levels into fighter for echo knight, and have yet to pick a subclass (we are level 5), I am unsure which to pick between profane soul, ghost slayer and mutant. Flavor wise I have a great opportunity for a patron, and the cantrips really help the rough levels 5-8 until I get the second attack! My spellcasting wouldn’t be great as I only have a +2 to int, but I figured it wouldn’t be that bad since most of the spells I would use are self spells, and I wanted the extra health and unleash incarnation use by going con (strength is my main stat). It really pops off if I get my action surge + hex + blood cursed of the marked + echo knight stuff where I can do 1d8+7 (dueling) plus 3d6 6 times in a turn. I’m just not sure which subclass or patron to pick haha, if I do go profane soul. (Lycan is nice, but we already have a lycanthrope in the party).

    • @DapperSnapperGaming
      @DapperSnapperGaming  Год назад

      Profane Soul is generally your best option for this kind of character. You'd get access to some great damage spells and it's so cool for story. Lycan is also not bad at all due to the semi rage that you get. I would probably go Profane Soul. This would give you a lot of cool options to mix things up

    • @ExecutiveGoth
      @ExecutiveGoth Год назад

      @@DapperSnapperGaming The flavor is so cool for sure, it's a little rough at the moment, having one attack suuuucks, for now but I'm hoping we'll make it to level 8 haha! Lore wise, she's a reborn in the sense that her shadow possessed her body while in the shadowfell, which is really fun. I also though maybe ghostslayer (for the radiant damage), could also be nice, which would give me either greatsword or longsword plus shield, and aberrant dragonmark could get my con to 18 (bunch of health, plus one extra use of unleash incarnation, and booming blade). Later down the line I wouldn't miss out on not havinng my order blood curse (since i would get it at BH 15). And I wouldn't depend as much on bonus actions to get going. Either way, it's for sure a flavorful struggle until BH 5, but once I get there Nova damage goes through the roof.

    • @crazy36069
      @crazy36069 Год назад

      @@ExecutiveGoth I got a similar character concept! Anyway, I’d recommend profane soul with GOO because the shadowy creature could appear when you get crits, scaring the enemies, or Undying if you want something that is mechanically reliable. I also think the Lycan subclass could be interesting because the shadowy being could make the character stronger, but they would also be fighting for control (with the BloodLust feature). I do t think Ghost Hunter would work, as your character has a very shadowy theme, and radiant damage wouldn’t fit that so well.
