The issue is, you're comparing the Tacoma to trucks such as the F-150, RAM 1500 and Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra You SHOULD be comparing the Tacoma to other American trucks such as the Ford Ranger and Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon, which all ALSO have abysmal rear passenger leg room. They aren't any less of trucks, they're just mid-size as opposed to full-size.

It’s getting to the point where they’re barely even practical as actual trucks anymore and 90% of the people that own them don’t even take them off road or anything
We are in the pavement princess Era where dudes will buy decked out off road vehicles as their daily driver but have never been camping or overlanding in their life nor would they ever consider it.
Except they will still sell like hotcakes because there are still plenty of people willing to pay the price, otherwise they wouldn’t have priced them that way.

Your short reviews are the best I've ever seen. As for the Tacoma, it's a crying shame. I was excited for new Toyota products a few years ago but the Supra, Tundra, Tacoma, and Sequoia have all been huge disappointments and overpriced. Nissan Frontier is where I'm going for a truck these days. Even the Titan smokes everyone else for a full size.
At that point, they should just remove the back seats.
