- Also, using a power probe to test the selinoid. In this video, i take a look at a nissan Rogue engine code po456, which means a small evap system leak, and on this 2015 rogue, it's easy peasy. I changed my gas cap and am now trying this purge canister solenoid. When the P0456 code is triggered, it points to a small Evap leak in the vehicle's Evaporative Emission Control System. This leak may be caused by various factors, including issues with the Purge Solenoid Valve. The Purge Solenoid Valve plays a critical role in regulating the flow of Fuel Vapors from the charcoal canister to the engine intake manifold for combustion. A malfunctioning Purge Solenoid Valve can compromise the system's integrity, leading to the detection of the P0456 Diagnostic Trouble Code. It is essential to inspect and address potential sources of the small evap leak, such as a loose fuel cap or damaged hoses, and to assess the condition of the Purge Solenoid Valve to ensure proper functionality and maintain the effectiveness of the evaporative emission control system.
The engine code P0456 corresponds to a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) in the On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) system, signaling a potential issue with the vehicle's evaporative emission control system. In simpler terms, it indicates a small leak in the evaporative emissions system.
The evaporative emission control system is designed to capture and store fuel vapors from the fuel tank to prevent them from escaping into the atmosphere. P0456 specifically points to a minor leak, typically in the fuel vapor hose, fuel filler cap, or the evaporative emission control system itself.
While a P0456 code doesn't pose an immediate threat to vehicle safety or performance, it is essential to address the issue promptly to maintain environmental compliance and prevent potential damage to the emission control system. Common causes for this code include a loose or faulty gas cap, a damaged or disconnected fuel vapor hose, or a malfunctioning evaporative emission control system component.
To resolve a P0456 code, it's advisable to start by inspecting and tightening the gas cap. If the issue persists, a thorough examination of the entire evaporative emission system, including hoses and components, may be necessary. Seeking professional automotive diagnostic services can help pinpoint and rectify the specific source of the small leak, ensuring the vehicle operates efficiently and adheres to emission standards.

Some of those electrical connectors are really hard to remove. It did look like an easy job other than having to crawl under the car this time of year. Great job showing how to do this, thanks
Yeah its cold but not bad job
Excellent job my friend wow
I was getting an Evap. code on my 2001 Volvo V70 and couldn't find it. Changed the gas cap, like you say, checked and changed many little hoses and even changed both solenoids (two on the Volvo). What I found that fixed the problem was that the air intake to the turbo was loose. Tightened the hose clamp and problem fixed. It was the LONG way around but I got it. Good video.
At least you got it
awesome work my friend love watching your video's
Thanks brother appreciate you
I enjoyed the video.
I agree it was excellent no doubt. See ya next one
ive never been called beautiful before, easy fixes are the best fixes
Lol
Hi Jason, i had a couple of codes on my ford kuga and i was told to disconnect both the leads off the battery wait 20 min and reconnect and it worked it cleared the faults 👍👍 ( if you do that make sure you have the radio unlock code thats if your vehicle needs it )
Thanks nev ill try each idea untill something works
Some computer problems are a pain to figure out. I hope it's all worked out for you v🔧👍
Nice intro clips. I will be making this repair ( canister) on my 2000 Blazer. Always fun working under these older vehicles LOL Either erasing the code or driving 50 to 80 miles should shut it off.
Been too busy last couple of weeks to make any new videos ☹ but still trying to support other channels.
👍7
Stay safe, Joe z
Thanks joe really appreciate it

Awesome J《☆》Nice work Brother👍🏾🍺🤳It took 3 drives before the codes cleared on my Car. Good Luck✌🏼😎☯️
Thanks brother
Wonderful ❤
How's she goin'? I hope this fix works out for ya. Take care!!
I think my car had this problem, the dealer said it was from over filling the gar with gas.
Yeah they say that can cause problems.
Helpful video
An easy way to test for the leak is to use the test port and hook an air hose to it with 5psi then go around and spray simple green on hoses and other suspects bubbles then bingo... I need to do it to my Ford Taurus it has a small evap leak that comes and goes.
5psi, thanks my friend if this dont fix it i will have to do that. Great
Good job. The thing I hate the most about working on modern cars is all the shitty electrical connectors that can take forever to take apart without breaking the brittle plastic.
If there are any Halloween stores near you go to one. They're likely having a sale right now and you can buy a fog machine for cheap and use it to find any leaks.
Has the code gone away after driving it yet?
The permanent code is still there so maybe i havent driven the kms it needs to do its cycle, thats what im hoping
Yes it must go thru a drive cycle with only 1/4 to about 3/4 tank of fuel . Did it come back after your scan tool showed monitor set for evap system ?
After i replaced it the hard code is pending but the light have not come on yet.
@heterogeneityrocks1 I'm thinking your idea of a leaky seal may be correct if you energized it in the blocked position then blew in. The evap tests today are crazy on some models only showing a pass in certain temps to how many starts to km driven to fuel in the tank . Keep us updated .
@SteveRobReviews well do
I hope you don't have to chase the problem too long. Code readers are a good tool to have. Back in the old days, you just had to check the plugs and the air cleaner. good luck. Stevo
Thanks brother
I had that same error of a Chevy truck a couple weeks back and it was a loose vacuum hose. Mine was easier to fix 🙂
I need a smoke machine
@@DIYVariety For vacuum leaks they don't work as well. It isn't obvious unless it's big. If air is escaping they work great.
Great video really enjoyed it
Hey, did you ever find a solution? Having this issue rn
Yes, the part i replaced in the video did the job, or at least the code never came back, and that's been some time now. So i think unless something else happens, this did the job. Super easy to replace. Thanks for commenting. Cheers
Hi ty for good video, Can i have part number pls?
Thank you for watching my friend. Cheers
This is the part i put in www.amazon.ca/Canister-Solenoid-Infiniti-2009-2012-14935-JF00A/dp/B081MVFQ37/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=30QX6M9I3VLG0&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.zkhLSp9OgvyrqWIOhcFF29lyzgALUdRtIiWIiAZLCnI9WhKbHbhWjMTVubuNjaVuYPl5QOd2zsiZ2f9-mEeHeUXOYlb9OBhayXktO0UgeBs0H98gMgOHxCfAvOun8FxiK_xDDbLREbZLZbBFdTdL1WPFCCdfNqd32l9Naa0vdXLXGvHS28_YUEGbRvDlMr6pDkyHT8bH4r6XRn2sD3tiZQ.1khQhujGMXZkZg1roHjH4s7bhznYHXit4DE8JeHNtpU&dib_tag=se&keywords=2015+rogue+evap+canister+solenoid&qid=1715265772&replacementKeywords=evap+canister+solenoid&sprefix=2015+rogue+evap+canister+selinoid%2Caps%2C358&sr=8-2&vehicle=2015-67-6615------------&vehicleName=2015+Nissan+Rogue
