Professor Peter Millican opens by saying he had hoped to find good reasons to believe in God by gave up looking. He says that some people need evidence for their beliefs and that he is one of these people.
The theistic hypothesis claims there is an immaterial God who's thought process can act freely of a physical body and that our thinking self can continue without our thinking brains. The human brain has been growing larger as we've evolved as a species and our heads are very large as new-born's making it dangerous for mothers during childbirth, surely if we are to go on thinking after we die we wouldn't need this evolutionary process.
He proceeds to say that every religion has a moral code but this is not surprising as humans are universally moral beings. We are moral because we are a weak species and the only way we can survive is by cooperation in society and we need a morality to be able to do that.

Having seen all 6 videos in this debate, I have to say that the side who argued that "there is NOT a God" won by a landslide if you analyse the arguments from both sides. It was almost painful to watch at times because the difference in quality of the arguments was so clear and obvious.
Then you had to list all the contrasting arguments and mark right and false with your related perceptions. You had a mind-shift from only an aggression on the floor...

Lots of dead people came back to life. In those days death was more like a temporary disability than like a permanent state of affairs.

How can anyone defend something that cannot be properly defined? Believers can not tell us what God is, they can only tell us what God is not. "God is invisible, timeless, spaceless, immaterial, and beyond human understanding". So why are you wasting your time by trying to understand God? @Jubei Yang "How do you know that it is evidence when you have not seen?" I see a tree bending, leaves fluttering. That is the visible evidence of unseen wind blowing. It really is just that simple. The idea is that you probably do not see God, but you can see the *effects* of God. The problem of course is discerning God. For instance, someone might have a string tied to the tree making it move and flutter, and it wasn't the wind. Sometimes the *evidence* isn't entirely conclusive. In this context, one *hopes* for salvation or eternal life or even just a bit of happiness in this life, and the hope is sustained by some evidence which everyone can see but which you interpret as signifying the existence of God.

The second says, "There is no such thing as water, prove it to me!" How is that to be done? It cannot be done; for both fish have been in water their entire lives and consequently don't even have a name for it. There is no boundary condition by which to detect it. I should advise that I use the word "God" in a somewhat generic manner to mean any of many possible metaphysical agents that have the power to inform me of things. It is also likely that what you believe "God" means is different than what I mean by it; which is what makes these conversations so entertaining.

I've come to the conclusion that even if people are proven without a doubt that there is no God they would reject the evidence out of fear of the god that doesn't exist.
At the very best, one could come up with some series of thoughts that would reach to the conclusion that there is only a tiny chance that God does exist. It will always remain 100% certain that it is impossible to disprove the existence of God with 100% certainty, wether God exists or not. Just like most likely there will always be people, as long as there are people in this universe, who will deny any proof of God to be a true proof for God to exist. In short, I argue that the most rational decision one could make on this subject is never to accept any disproof of God as absolute truth, as such a proof could never be complete.

that relates to Pascual's Wager. Sadly, those people have consigned themselves to living in perpetual fear of millions of vindictive gods who just might (very improbably) exist. Unlike you, I think therefore the argument against making Pascual's Wager is strong, and that people are in fact courageous enough to conclude that there is no supernatural being and none of these gods exist. This does take courage and a good understanding of science, but it is a step being taken by increasing numbers of people.
I myself have come to the conclusion that if people are proven God exist without a doubt, they would still reject the evidence in fear of his judgment.

Here's my argument against the Bible:
The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego form the book of Daniel 1. If your'e not familiar, the story depicts the three Jewish men being thrown into a fiery furnace by Nebuchadnezzar II, King of Babylon, for refusing to bow to the king's image. The three however are preserved from harm by God.
Vs
The Holocaust, which exterminated approx. 1,1 million Jews in the gas chambers (along with cripples, redheads, blacks, and other peoples the Nazis sought to exterminate).
Same scenario, same religous belief and believers, yet the accredited story had no divine intervention. The only options are that the Jewish people weren't praying hard enough to save their lives, God was on vacation or ignored them, or God does not exist.
Funny ain't it, how the only time god intervenes is in unsubstantiated, unverifiable old stories yet fails to intervene in exactly the same cicumstances in an era when it could be accurately recorded and verified. "But he dosn;t intervene cos of free will!" they will cry. But that didn;t seem to bother god in the old stories.

Ah, we’re doing this again. Classic.
One night my family and I gathered in the living room to discuss this same topic: “How can we be so sure that God exists and that we are worshipping the correct true God?”
Well, we talked and reasoned about the topic for several hours until we all concluded in agreement that it is only by Faith that we decide to believe/trust in our conviction of believing in God.
So, since we concluded that our belief in God was based on Faith, we all decided to just go to bed and leave it at that.
When I woke up the next morning, I sat up on the edge of my bed, grabbed my Bible, and made a quick prayer to God. I said to God: “God, please speak to me through this Bible, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.” THAT’S ALL I PRAYED. Then, I opened up my Bible in no specific order/manner, and laid my eyes on the first words I saw on the page. What I read next had me feeling so scared that I almost threw the Bible on the ground as I was shocked of the fact that what I was reading, felt like God was literally talking to me in person.
The passage I read is found in the New Testament, in the book of Galatians Chapter 1 verses 6 through 9 which read:
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are following a different gospel - not that there really is another gospel, but there are some who are disturbing you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell! As we have said before, and now I say again, if any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell!”
That morning, I believe God himself directly gave me the answer to last night’s long discussion topic: “Is God real? Do I believe in the correct and true God?”
The answer is YES. God is REAL!
I’m a Christian since the age of around 10 so I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and that ONLY He is the path to SALVATION. That all who believe in Jesus Christ will not perish but live eternally with Him in Heaven.
Jesus Christ said: “I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. Nobody comes to the Father but by me.” So, nobody can be with the Father(God) but ONLY through believing and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Did God create evil, violence, and everything that is wrong with society and people today? Can you ask a killer if God told him to kill and do violence? Can you ask a rapist whether God asked him to do it? It would really help if you asked those guys personally.
Did you asked the rapist why he raped that girl? Or did you ask why did the killer do it? Well, ask them if God did tell them to do it. Did you also ask the people who made themselves sick because of eating too much food that does not belong to their bodies? Even vices, well you can't because it is their choice. God did not create us to become robots. He gives us life and it is a gift. The problem is the world itself, not him, It is us.
Simple answer - because we live on Earth not paradise.
Religion is mostly a coping mechanism for dealing with the brutality of being alive. Example...people in poor countries tend to be more religious than people in wealthy countries. Because religion is all they have to hold onto. It's literally the only thing that provides them with real hope/consolation. Take that away from them and they're left with nothing except starvation, suffering, disease, and death. Life is cruel and humans, especially desperate humans, need something to hold onto in order to cope with everyday life. I'm agnostic, but I have to admit that life can get really difficult when you lack belief in a God that is looking out for you.

I just want to let you guys know that praying is not the same as wishing. God is not the same as a Genie. Not just because you pray that it will make things better for you. Not just because you strive to be a good person that you will never suffer.

If there were actual EVIDENCE for any given god, there'd be nothing to debate about. The ONLY arguments ever presented for a given god (or set of gods) consist of assertion, inference, and interpretation. With these, they create a self-serving circular "logic" by which they insist their god(s) "must" exist...but this is as far as their arguments can ever take them, because they never have any EVIDENCE.
Ed Feser and William Lane Craig are well known to me, and offer nothing but the same empty apologetics. They have no more evidence for their assertions than there is for any other religion or set of beliefs in supernatural realm.

Believers do tickle me. There are two stances when faced with a claim; belief until the claim is disproven, or disbelief until the claim is proven. Believers apply stance 2 to every other god, and every other supernatural entity, then apply stance 1 to their deity of choice, and invoke a bit of special pleading or appeals to faith.

One skeptic guy was taken into a room once and there he was asked if there was a bloodstain on the wall, he turn around and laughed because he could see nothing resembling any kind of corporal fluid on the wall. Then the UV light was turned on and he was able to see beyond his very limited spectrum of visible light and the blood, urine, saliva and sweat remains suddenly appeared before his very eyes. After that he was asked another question "can you imagine your life can be in danger in this 'empty' room? And he said that there was nothing in the room that could harm him. Obviously he had no idea that the room was receiving ionizong radiation from an ambulatory X ray machine that could cause cancer and DNA mutation leading to death even in the next months. Then he was shown the radiation meter and was aware of his own exposure to harmful electromagnetic radiation.
Later on he was asked to describe the sounds he could hear in the room and he replied that there were none. To prove him that there were imperceptible infrasound noises below 20 Hz in the room he had to see a sound level meter to be conscious that in fact he was unable to hear the existing noises in the house. Finally he was asked to turn the radio on and to touch, see, smell, feel if possible the FM radio waves and he was proved once that his perception was so limited as to conclude that only palpable, visible, audible things exist.
So it might be correct for any skeptic to say that angels, demons and God don't exist in their visible light espectrum (380-700 nm), and they don't speak to them either (in 20-20,000 Hz) and cannot cause any damage (at least in the known or perceived forms of harmful electromagnetic radiation). Whatever knowledge that is claimed beyond our perception is mere bragging. We should just remain silent about the things we cannnot even perceive

Anyone who has been to a club or a rave, worked in a motel/hotel, seen any kind of cop show on tv, knows what UV light is and does. Anybody who has ever had a dog and used a dog whistle knows that there are sounds that our ears cannot hear.

This was great, but the objection to the teleological argument, as usual, missed the mark. The main problem with that argument is that is assumes the conclusion in the premise. One must assume that life was an intended feature of the universe for that to work at all. And if one assumes that, then they have already accepted the idea of an intentional agent as the cause of the universe.
To claim that god is proved by our existence is no more rational than a Poker player being dealt a good hand and assuming that there was a god who made that happen. Our existence is valuable to us, therefore we see a universe capable of producing and supporting us as "fortuitous", but that is purely subjective. Even if there were a god, what if all he wanted to create was a machine that could make complex elements, and the unintended, and possibly unwanted byproduct was us?
This argument for god is as weak as the ontological argument - it sucks.
