Dan Barker says that he used to be a firm believer in the gospel. He was evangelical. He tells of parables and fables whose story is meant to be fictional but the moral tale is what matters. He goes on to highlight that modern day Christians understand the use of metaphors in the Bible that everything should not be taken as pure gospel, but says where do we draw the line between what is real and what is myth?
Following this he states there is no hard evidence for god, that some tales in the bible can be questioned with simple logic. Also religions become secular over time, disagreeing on minor aspects within the larger body of the religion itself.

In spite of the fact that our rationality / intelligence is proof of the initial eternal Intelligence (called God / the Creator, _"'the beginning and the end"_ ), because *from no intelligence involved, no intelligence comes,* (the entire process until nowadays proving the existence of God because *the results of a process prove the intelligence involved into that process)* most unbelievers (the deniers of the truth) are replacing the Creator with His creation, this reality (not wanting to be judged by God/Jesus, after leaving this world).

What he fails to understand is that God will never be known by the mind of man, only God will know man. The Holy Spirit is but a way to interpret the mysteriousness of God, that is why faith is the only way to try and understand God, true faith that is. I personally think he got tired of living a life of simplicity devoted to the Holy Spirit his faith was tested and he failed, but let us not judge him, for each shall be judged accordingly.
What you fail to understand is all this talk about 'god is incomprehensible' is just a way out of all the inconsistencies in religions.

What could possibly give you the impression that there is an intent behind the universe? Very close to 100% of it seems to be deadly to life of any kind (and is certainly unreachable by our standards)… if the universe was intended for anything, it was probably intended for black holes to exist (I think that was a joke by Stephen Hawking if I’m not mistaken). Also, what would a “coincidental” universe look like to you by comparison? If you’re going to assume that this universe is not a coincidence, surely you have some point of reference (or at least a concept of one).
