Oh, how exciting! Getting closer everyday. I have to tell you, you've bounced back so quickly and stronger. I don't know if I could have done it. You have so much support, family, friends, the entire community, and subscribers, and a few RUclipsrs. ❤😊 Looking forward to seeing you in your new sewing room.
Hello Sharon, yes, we are excited! Jim has worked very hard everyday & community has been so great to us. We have had much help & feel blessed! My RUclips family has helped provide many beautiful, fun fabrics, tools, notions, threads & gifts to make a wonderful sewing space! I could not ask for more! Everyone in our life has been so amazing. We hope to have a home in April! I have been collecting some furniture & collectables. Friends have provides dishes and other things too. We are off to a pretty good start. I will keep everyone posted on this journey as we work our way back. After the home is put in, Jim will start the build for my sewing space. That will be even more exciting!!😊❤️
Thank you!! The house will be coming in April!! I am so ready to have our own home again! Yes, praise God for all of the good that comes out of all the bad. We are making progress and moving forward to make new memories. 😊❤️
So happy that you are seeing progress. Hope this step forward will lift your spirits on this rainy day. So Tilly is in the pouch and you and all these men are getting wet 🤔 I had to smile when you said that! God Bless you, Jim and all those hard working men.
Thanks Sue! It was a wet, damp day but I didn't mind standing out there. This is a huge step forward to where we want to be. Jim has been working relentlessly to get us a home back. All these men were friends, family & neighbors. Tilly goes every where with me. he is so attached to me & so very good when he is in his pouch. He is growing though....
Excellent work! I just wait to see your new house / home! You and your husband have each other and that' s the most important ! Everything will be possible! ❤ best wishes from Bucharest!
Hello and thank you for your wonderful comment! unfortunately everything burned...pet blankets, beds, toys, all of my clothes, shoes etc. Some of my fabric from my sewing space was saved from the rubble pile because there was so much of it and where it was in the room. Its ironic that I found some things and not others. I did find a rug that was in my sewing room with one of Tinker's toys stuck to it but I couldn't look at it.... The fabric that was saved, I want to make a quilt out of it. Maybe some sort of memory quilt. I wish I had something left to remind me of my pets but it all was lost and I had lots of blankets, toys, beds.... I have one quilt that I have made before the fire & it was kept in my Jeep. I also had a doggy bed in my Jeep that was Tinker's & 3 of his toys. I put his toys with his cremation box. It's still very difficult losing him. He wasn't even a year old. Millie was Jim's dog. She was older & was found in a bed from the spare room.. Jim said her body wasn't burned & he buried her along with my 3 year old orange kitty, Spartan who was found in the kitchen with Tinker. Neither of them were burned either thankfully. I want to honor my pets by having a portrait made with all of them together to hang in my new sewng room as that is where all my babies like to be along with me ❤️
My Dad talked of doing this by the wheelbarrelful for a church foundation; I think he would have been impressed by the new technology! Thanks for sharing the process!
This is wonderful. It is so fortunate that we have been having a mild winter. If this had been one of the old winters, you wouldn't have been able to do any of this until May. Next thing is coordinate the neighbors new house and the move of the old one to your lot. So nice to see everything moving forward
Thank you!! Yes, we are very fortunate to have had a mild winter! I remember years past with so much snow! The house will be coming in April! The neighbors are putting a basement in for their new home, so this moves things along quicker for us. I am so wanting my own space again! I have been on the hunt for things for our new home & have quite of few things ready to get us started. We are very excited! 😆
Turned out great. I'm glad Jim wore gloves. My husband ot cement burns working without gloves. Had to soak hands in col water with whit vinegar to neutralize the alkalie to stop burning. Lesson learned. I hope. So happy for your progress
So happy for you guys, can't wait to see all the steps in progress , until you enter your new home , how exciting , I bet , you can't wait to sit and see in your new sewing room , I would be also , my sewing machine is as important to me as my car , lol 🪡🧵✂️
I have lifted you and your family up in prayer. You are cover in His love. Are you going to make any changes? This project has its good and bad. But remember a NEW sewing room. LOL. New kitchen. Please find some fun here. Your OLD quilter sister from Bullard, Tx. Miss Gloria.☝️💋🧵🤠✝️
Hello Miss Gloria from Texas! Well, this is a big change from a big old farm house. We do want to make the new home feel like the old one with that comfortable farm charm. I have been given some older furniture which I love & i also bought an old step back cupboard too. The new house will be coming April! So excited to have my own home again! And my own kitchen! with my own utensils lol! There is so much that I miss....there's no place like your own home! The fun thing about this new journey is the treasure hunt for old and new things.... The new sewing room is going to be grand! I have had so much help from subscribers on restocking fabrics, tools and notions. It is gonna be a fun place for everyone that wants to come and sew & for viewers as well! Much to look forward to! 😊❤️
Wow. Home is progressing. Is a typical in New York State not to have basements? I’m from Minnesota, and most homes have basements here. Those guys work hard!
Hello, yes, most homes do have basements but we are reducing cost & trying to move things along quicker by not having a basement. My sewing room will be a separate building beside the house. This will provide more space for me. We also have a good size garage with upstair additional space for storage. Thanks for watching our progress!
Thank you! Benefit turned out great! many people came out to support our cause. I didn't get much footage filming at the benefit because I was doing a lot of talking with many folks. I did get some video at the end on the night when the names were drawed for the quilt give away...My neighbor, Dee won my beautiful quilt. We were both quite surprised! but I was so happy that she had gotten it. I quilt weekly with her mom. We are all quite close. 😊
When you said you were buying the house down the road I didn’t understand why you were building on your site. Are you just buying the house and moving it onto your concrete pad?
yes we are moving the house. Jim has a 3 bay work shop, and we have the animal barn on our property. To find a place with a big enough shop for jim to work out of, and a barn for the critters, and a space big enough for my quilting it really tough.
Praising God for this progress.
Yes! I am so thankful!❤️
