    I can’t get my eyes away from the one petal towards the center that looks like it has sunshine filtering through it. Sublime!!!. So incredibly ❤

    You bring something to my mind that was a big deal to my Honors Art teacher. His specialty was watercolor. He definitely would always mention that the magic is in the layer building. Your work definitely proves it. Gorgeous technique. I also love how you payed attention to the color scale here. Opposite of orange and corals is blue! Plus the patience to go around the white parts of the page, it definitely makes the entire rose glow. I also love how you drew in the veins of the rose, those little subtleties bring it ALIVE. I had no idea what you were doing at first, then the next 5 seconds later, I felt like I was looking at the real thing!

      Thank you so much for your thoughts 💕 I believe this whole layering thing (the process itself) is what attracted me to watercolor in the first place. It’s unlike gouache and acrylics I was used to in a sense that it requires significant time to see the results - and that’s exactly what I enjoy so much. Kind of like meditation, helps me forget about my anxieties for a while 😊

      @@AnnaBucciarelli oh but it takes soooo much patience AND experience. Especillay for someone like me who for so long just painted a la prima- one or maximum two layers. The so called ugly stage like many refer to is hard to see/pass by. also I wonder what you meant in the video about letting the background colour go over the landscape ie??

    I'm always so, so inspired by your watercolour tutorials and this one is no different! Personally I like the rose without the background but thanks for showing us a way to incorporate the subject into the background seamlessly.

    I really like that you offer some great insight to advanced painting. I rarely see that. And it is so helpful and looks fun to try some of them. I used to copy watercolor drawings and work to paint them like the original instructor did. Now I like to draw out my own work and paint it how I think it should look. Which is so much harder in some ways and so much easier in many others and reflects my own personal growth and unique experience and artistry.
    Showing how to handle the watercolor to darken and shade the rose is a perfect demonstration and these techniques will be a great asset to controlling some of what I find very challenging to me when I do flowers. You are gifted, patient, and talented. Thanks for sharing.

    Anna, your attention to detail is amazing. The fact that this only took 4 hours is an achievement. I can spend 10 hours on a graphite drawing and get nothing close to this. Your voice is very soothing to listen to. Subscribed.

    Anna it was very beautiful and I enjoy your style of painting with how you group 2 of my favorite things, birds and flowers. I had tried a couple of brands of Indanthrone blue but I really disliked the drying shift change but there are plenty of blues out there. Lately I have been getting into using some more granulating colors in the background of my compositions and really love it. They were always colors that I thought were pretty but not always classified as even semitransparent. So my whole life I waited to add WN cobalt green and cobalt teal with phaloblue rs. Anyways in pastels I could get away with it but I see how I can incorporate more than just the earth tones. Your videos are great and are a breath of fresh air in comparison to the overwhelming amount of new student beginner videos that had just overwhelmed RUclips. So I am happy to see one’s like yourself sharing gems that you have learned with others. Thank you, 😊

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  Год назад +1

      Thank you Jennie! 😊 Completely agree on the granulating pigments for backgrounds 👌 I’ve dabbled before just using my dot charts and finally invested into full tubes of some super granulating Schminke - AMAZING fun for backgrounds, I used it in the previous video with vegetables and now working on an animal composition to try more. 💕 Thank you so much for your kind words re: my videos and for supporting my channel! Have a wonderful day ☀️
