Woohoo! Love Swamp Dogg. He is one of the miracles of the music business. Criminally under the mainstream radar but extraordinarily influential. The records he has made as a producer and artist are all sublime. How he has managed to stay so active and so un-acknowledged for so long is one of musics great mysteries.
Thank you for the Music History Class, Swamp Dogg. Came here via Eric Ambel. I had heard "Total Destruction to Your Mind" in 1988 as a cover by Eric. Just found out today you are the Original Artist and writer. Glad to be on board!
An absolute legend of a man. Thank you so much for this Amoeba! Criminally forgotten about by the music industry. I can't believe I first discovered him going through a list of the worst album covers of all time 🤣 He was in there for Rat on! Which came out in 1971. Then when I started listening to him I discovered he was a musical genius.
Check out the Tales from the Tour Bus on Showtime. Swamp Dog is heavily featured in the Johnny Paycheck episode. He wrote “Don’t Take Her She’s All I’ve Got” too. The seconds season on funk is even better. P-Funk baby! 🤘🏻🛸💨
"That's the weird part about living. One day you're gonna be gone" TRUTH! I'm going to the other side soon. My message to the living: BE GOOD, SO GOOD, DO GOOD, STAY GOOD UNTIL YOUR LAST BREATH.
I love Swamp Dogg's music ever since my older sister brought home "Total Destruction to your mind" in 1970. My God is that 52 years. If you can get of "Salafaster' or "Appelle moi noir" do you yourself a favor and acquire it for you book of "Life lessons".
If you haven't heard it, there's an amazing two part interview with Swamp Dogg here: songcraft-spotlight-on-songwriters-4bbff581.simplecast.com/episodes/ep-8a-swamp-dogg-shes-all-i-got-1-of-2
I wish this one was twice as long!
this man needs a tiny desk concert
Should have his own podcast
And a KEXP
I second this notion!!

That was in The Guardian, wasn't it? I discovered him from exactly that same article.
Rat On! is the greatest album cover of all time, shame that it keeps getting slandered as bad.
Love Swamp Dogg! He wrote a lot of great songs for Johnny Paycheck.
Edit: And he loves Little Richard? Well now I love him even more
"Take This Job and Shove It"
@@andrimufid2195 According to wikipedia, that song was written by David Allan Coe

I am now convinced Swamp Dogg invented life this man is refusing to get old!
Sorry You Couldn't Make It is such a great album. Looking forward to the new record!
Thought I saw a Korn record in there… 😄 Really enjoyed this video

Best What's In My Bag yet...

Love Swamp Dogg and his music! Where can his hat be bought….?
It's so strange to here Swamp Dogg talk. Such a talented singer/artist. "That's the weird thing about living, soon you're gonna be gone."
Swamp Dogg 👊
Swamp dogg listens to Korn apparently 🤟🏼 🔥
Spinal Tap lol. Great story teller.
Johnny Pemberton interviewed Swamp Dogg a few years back
Brubeck was at the University of the Pacific.
I’m glad you’ve lived so long and I hope you aren’t still saddled with installment payments.
absolutely need to know Swamp Dogg's thoughts on Requiem (2022) by Korn (visible @ 3:23 )
I don't know why him calling Joe Tex the "Shakespeare of the 60s" was so funny to me, I can't stop laughing
based swamp dogg
The best John Prine cover of all-time, Swamp Dogg doing "Sam Stone". Better than the original (and I love John Prine).
Have you heard Bettye LaVette's "Souvenirs"?
I don't agree, but I'm not mad. I love them both.
This Is Swamp Dogg. (Everything in his bag goes to 11.)
Did anyone else notice that he had korns new album
thought I was tripping
I know! If he talked about that and it was edited out I wanna see the extra footage!
swamp dogg is a hidden national treasure secret soon to be known
I'm a bit shocked to see AWB on his list. I played that so much I wore the grooves out.
_Tales from the Tour Bus_
Rat On!
I never clicked on something so fast in my life.
Sound / mic is a bit sharp. Great up till mic issues.
スワンプドッグ✨🤎
Snoop Dogg's Dad
ahh, true
Would that make him Uncle Junebug’s brother?
@@OlinKreutzRules and that would make him Blowfly's cousin
Scared by Derek Smalls’s “Big Bottom” 😅
The algorithm confused this with disc golf
Should have given him a free copy of spinal tap
This guy's for real. Nice change of pace from the usual young, phony hipsters that are on here.
He had Bon iver one of his most recent albums. Worlds collide.
settle down
Who is this guy
He wrote a couple of country hits, he also made some severely underrated music in the 70’s.
If Joe Cocker did a guest vocal on a Spaniel’s album it would be called Cocker Spaniels
Who?
Total Destruction to Your Mind and Surfing to Harlem -- two LPs you could buy for their titles alone!
I enjoy his singing voice
