I was a roommate to a "Sam Stone" that was in Viet Nam. He was a very good man. We shared each other's good and bad times. I miss the old Bastard daily.
Me neither I had a "Sam Stone" as a roommate. He was a fins man and friend. Out of the 7 boys from his small town that went to Nam. together he was one of two that made it back alive. That was hard enough on him, then the folks in his small town looked down on him for some stupid reason. He moved from Upstate NY. to Tampa to get away. He ended up in N.C. about half way. I am a better person for knowing him He was old enough to be my father and treated me like a brother/son. He helped me get over losing my Father by just being by my side. I hear he passed away a few years ago with his family by his side. The thing he always wanted.
It is good that they got to work together before John Prine's death as of course Jerry Williams (Swamp Dogg ) covered this John Prine track to great effect
I've been a Prine fan since the 70's but had never heard of Swamp Dog, I was present at the Ace Hotel for this performance and was completely blown away. Thanks for capturing it.
Omg, two great song writers. John was a treasure most, hell everyone never knew him and for the most never will. Get the good news of John Prine out there people! Yes he's a Saint in mine eyes.
I've been a huge John Prine fan since 1979. His music got me through a lot of tough times. I've found that you either Love Prine or have never heard of him.His music HEALS

No. Seriously. This is so freaking awesome.
This is a beautiful moment that may one day be lost to the passing of time but one I will never forget, for the rest of my days.
This was just beautiful.
I've loved Swamp Dogg for 45 years. Only recently got into the wonderful John Prine.
That is, without doubt, the most unlikely duet I've ever seen! 😁
If you don't already know, Swamp Dogg's new album features two duets with Prine. Real good stuff.

Priceless, wonderful, non-judgmental. Bless John Prine and bless Swamp Dog.
Both of their versions are amazing

Me too. First heard JP's songs at camp in 1973 and saw him (damn the past tense) whenever he came to town.
@@stilldead1347 We were probably at The Roxy for the same shows back in the day. Great times.
Swamp's version made me check out John Prine-NOLA ?
It was a wonderful show, we were there while my wife was pregnant with our first child.
