Two things about 2nd impact:
I wish these amazing stages weren't confined to just this game
I love how it's not just 2nd impact, but 2nd impact GIANT ATTACK
just realized they called it Giant Attack because if the introduction of Hugo and he is an homage to Andre The Giant.
I also have a dream that somehow they combine 2nd impact with Third Strike with all the moves they took out, background music (for nostalgia), outfit colors, and of course stages.
It’s a shame. Second impact did a lot of things I wish 3rd strike did; EX slash elbow turns around, stun gun has genei jin length meter, two bars for denjin, Sean’s great, yun sucks really if they kept these going into third strike I can’t imagine how amazing that game would be.
Id love if they released a third strike plus, and it had stages from new generation and second impact in it.
@@Neogears1312 isnt yun like top tier as shit in 2i
Ah yes, the 3 greatest traits of humanity.
-Strength
-Speed
-Ass
did you see Hugo's dumptruck????
Gill has all 3, so.
2nd impact still has a lot of mystique to me. It’s sort of the forgotten SF.. that happens to be probably the most beautiful.. such a unique and stylish feel to this one.
Completely agree
Agreed... 💕 The art style!
I agree
Definitely my childhood fav. Why? Memories of playing it at an Arcade, at what was once a mall, where I grew up. 😁
Agreed. I prefer the aesthetic of 2nd impact much more than third strike. I think this game often gets ignored because it’s kind of like the middle child of the SF3 series.
Yay we're already 66% done with this Legacy unless Max does a dramatic reading with YoVideogames of Street Fighter Legends the manga
Oh please! Include some Udon comics and we're absolutely set
Wait until the Akira legacy. Rival Schools=50% Project Justice=DONE!
@@jpnakashima1224 the Udon artwork is fire. Biggest reason I got into those comics
Jokes aside, can we petition max to do this?? I really want to hear him dramatically read that!
Fuck that sounds awesome
Of course Max had to put that "I can totally do that bonus stage" clip in at the end.
That's not even the last level tho, I don't think he can do that one but props for doing the level 4 stil
Elena’s theme in this game is unmatched
Definitely. The best track in the game! Crazy nostalgia.
“Tomboy” theme and night bridge stage, are my 3rd favorite stage/theme in the entire series.
Behind Necro 2i train stage/song, and Gouki 3s graveyard stage/song (which according to legend, was a cutting room floor stage from red earth, and was originally a concept for vampire hunter 2)
Overall though, this game has my favorite presentation of the series, especially the “FIGHT” font leaping out at us.
2i’s stages, presentation, and ost, need to be 100% incorporated as optional defaults in the coming relaunch of the SF-3 series by Iron Galaxy or digital eclipse, for current gen consoles. (After the insane financial success of marvel vs Capcom relaunch warrants it)
I agree with you.
That is why I prefer 2nd Impact over 3rd Strike
I think the UI in fights is my favourite in the series. I just love the curved box under the health bard displaying the characters portraits. Looks amazing to me. Third strike still my favourite game though
Still find it weird that elena is considered the tomboy while makoto is considered spunky, I feel it should be the other way around
Elena's 2I stage is up there with the AoF teams '96 stage for being one of the GOAT FG stages
I'm still waiting for the entire Parry Minigame cut
Max spent god knows how long trying to perfect Lv. 4 & we were LOSING IT in chat
Man, I miss games with good-ass sprites
There still exist man, there are a lot of indie games that has a lot of good use of sprites and pixel art, a good example is Blasphemous
We still talking about Elena?
@@leithazizpagy4699 melty blood's sequel that's comin around in september also has GORGEOUS sprite work, as does under night
good sprite work hasnt left, just the publishers making them have changed
2nd Impact Sean was a happy little accident. Shame that Capcom mutilated him in Third Strike.
Sean, Elena, and Ibuki were all so damn fun in 2i. 2i really had a great feel to the entire game. Was my first fighting game for Dreamcast, and absolutely treasured it from day one and never stopped.
Sean is now lame.
Dan is much cooler than him.
Poor dolt.
I love how he wasn't satisfied with the parry minigame, just shows the amount of tenacity Max has
Love the sound design of the first two versions of SFIII. I wish there was a "complete" version of 3rd Strike that also included all the stages and music from the first two versions of SFIII that were omitted.
FINALLY SOMEONE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT SECOND IMPACT EXISTS! THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU MAX!
I like 2nd Impact more the 3rd Strike. The music was the deciding factor lol
Also Alex’s Voice at 11:11 never ceases me from laughing my ass off “YOU CAN’T ESCAPE! (In a Michael Jackson impression)”
2nd impact has the funniest characters on the ground faces .
Elena being my favorite because....reasons ;)
I honestly prefer 2nd impact over third strike just feels smoother
@@meganinten0078 Alex beating Elena makes me question everything. Thiccness all around.
Also, can we dwell on how amazing the stage designs look in this game? so much happening in the background. It's lovely.
2nd Impact was to New Gen as SFA2 was to SFA - a expansion with most of the dna intact but vastly improved
But ultimately less remembered because the third installment just heaped stuff on.
And just like the alpha games the third game shows up and tears all that shit down 😭😭
He said “Gimme them 5 balls” with supreme confidence 😂😂😅
"Stupid Kid" has to be the most hurtful thing max can say to someone. Also Alex's voice is fucking hilarious. Never mind this is the most hurtful 17:43
Gill’s second impact theme is the best..
👍
Definitely the best one he's ever had
Nero tho 👀
Capcom agrees. it was the one they used as the basis for his theme in SFV
@@NomadBulldog same for Oro.
Gill’s stage and DNB theme are the best boss stage/theme in the series BY FAR
2nd Impact Stages have a vibe of "I want to live there".
I have a dream that somehow they combine 2nd impact with Third Strike with all the moves they took out, background music (for nostalgia), outfit colors, and of course stages.
Favorite game in the SF3 series. Love 2I man. The music, presentation, stages, and even the colors. It’s a beautiful game.
The amount of late 90's Fighting Game vibes both in New Gen and 2nd Impact is ridiculous. From the music, character select, SFX, and of course, the Announcer, it's just oozing.
And I fucking love them for it. I can't get enough of this aesthetic.
2nd Impact’s soundtrack is so legendary, especially Dudley’s remix. Awesome mix of house and jazz.
Drinking game: Take a shot every time Max says "take a hold of this"
Person who does this: I guess... I guess I die.
Loved this game back in the day, I even have it on my dreamcast and still play it from time to time.
I agree with Max saying this game's music was more jazzy-capcomy, whereas 3rd strike had a stronger hip hop scene, but every song in this game is catchy and has a very strong identity to all characters.
Sean was op in this game, don't have proof, but don't have doubts either.
Truly enjoyed watching this one, this game brings good memories.
I really hope Street Fighter VI focus on the Illuminati storyline and don't expand the story I want Street Fighter VII to be a brand new fresh story with a new antagonist trying to take over the world.
Yeah I would like to see D.D,rook, ingrid, retsu, skullomania, and kairi in sf6
@@AndersonTenecela maybe since rose's story did hint that 6 could be a reboot
Same I won't get my hopes up we all know Capcom love expanding their stories to the next game I want everything to conclude in 6 and 7 is a fresh start we finally see Ryu at his full potential and maybe have him finally defeat Akuma maybe Akuma can be the antagonist of Street Fighter 7? We see Ken son Mel all growed up and is a fighter like her father is and he becomes the next generation fighter or something we can see Li-Fen the girl Chun-Li took in and is a mother figure to her all grown up and she becomes the next Chun-Li maybe Ryu takes on a apprentice and Sakura can helo train so many story potential.
Still can’t believe SFV never once mention Gil group as they are. Like they refuse to say they’re the Illuminati
2nd impact's music was a bit better than Third Strike's. ATTACK ME IF YOU WANT!!!
I have no opinion, but I'm punching because you offered.
Nah you're based
No, no, you're right. Gill's and Sean's themes in this game are among the best in the entire SF series.
I think the opposite. 2nd impact music is very good but 3.3 soundtrack is just perfect.
Something about Second Impact is just awesome. Honestly if you ask me, the soundtrack, maps, feel of this game are just AMAZING!
my favorite Oro memory came from this game. years ago, i was playing as Oro and i got a draw game against Gill via time up, so a judgment took place (the first i got), and i won lol
editing was on point for this one
Ono not just the sound programmer / producer for 3rd Strike but also for Alpha 1 & 3 and Onimusha 1 & 2. The guy did an excellent job cause the sound in those games was great.
Give me both Ryu and Alex’s 2nd Impact themes over their 3rd Strike themes any gotdamn day, ESPECIALLY Alex’s
The select screen music is absolutely PHENOMENAL
Unpopular opinion.
I prefer SFIII Second Impact than 3rd Strike.
The music and stages are the best.
2nd Impact has my favorite Ryu's theme of all time.
Agreed, the music really does it for me.
@@goead Yeah.
My favorites are the themes for Urien, Sean, Yun, Necro, Ryu, Gill and Elena.
Gill’s theme in 2nd impact is my favorite of the three versions. I love how chill and sinister it feels with the statues and the night sky.
Presentation & OST wise, it’s utterly gorgeous. Different Balance was dope too. ANY new incantation of the series needs to fully incorporate all the stages and music as earned assignable defaults per location.
@@theycallmejojo6090 facts
by far the best gill stage and theme. 2nd impact also has the best battle ui imo
I'm so happy Max is doing an Oro Legacy only because he's going to play Third Strike. Max playing Third Strike is always the best
2nd impact is my favorite version of SFIII. Simply because my main was Sean.😉
The stages and music where great too.👍
The ending case reminds me of Night Warriors, it's considered a sequel in everything even by the devs but they still retain the same endings from Vampire 1 with just 1 bonus artwork added after the ending played
"Apple Jolly Rancher?" I was thinking more along the lines of, an old ass ninja turtle. 🤣🤷🏻
2nd Impact actually looks better than 3rd Strike, the stages are top notch
Looked so much cleaner
The animations in this series are fuckin awesome and gnarly af! Look at Oro when you knock him down lol, he literally looks dead lol 😂
Lol at the parrying bonus stage
10:06 I never thought I'd see a CPU do a button check mid-match but here we are
7:40 … can we just acknowledge the old mans fan and the way it flexes?
Everytime I hear that Alex stage Smug comes to mind.
Love your streams and your videos i just wanted to know what type of microphone do you have
After this series can you do the SF3rd strike mod? SF4th? I'd love to get your impression on the changes that were made by fans.
2nd Impact was the first version of 3 that I encountered...I forgot how different they are in presentation. Kinda miss the sounds of this one.
The faces are meme worthy
i love the character selection music
Lol the parrying was so random. He wanted to play oro but spending so long parrying with Ryu 😆
I hope he and Rose are in the base roster for SF6. Although I guess I’m ok with Oro in SFV since I love the turtle, and I guess he wouldn’t have that later in the timeline.
Can we please talk about how amazing the health bar look?!
Why didn't they keep that design in SF3 3rd strike?! 😭
Alex here sounds like how Max impersonates Andy Bogard 😂
Second Impact has the exact same story as New Generation; just like Alpha and Alpha 2, its an expansion that only adds new characters, moves and techniques like the EX system. The story actually moves on in Third Strike, taking place 1 year after NG/2nd Impact (just like how Alpha 3 takes place months after Alpha 1+2).
Such a shame all the beautiful stages and music only appears in 2nd Impact... it needs more love!!
Also the extra parry game at the end was a nice surprise
He’s a lean mean green sneezing machine
of the 3 SF3 games 2nd impact had the best music hands down.
I live in Munich and can confirm SF 3:2nd impact is a 1:1 representation of the city ...*grabs Bier
Can you confirm that people parry volleyballs there too
5:46 "Sheesh, I just wanna get chicken feet!"
Hm. Now I wanna get dim sum.
I thought the background the second impact look a heck of a lot better than third strike. The third strike backgrounds just look kind of dull and lifeless except for maybe Elena's level
Unfortunately that's just one of the things that tends to happen with later entries of Capcom games. They have to lower the complexity of the backgrounds to allow for more character sprites.
@@WraxTV I guess but given how powerful cps3 hardware was you think they'd be able to do more. At least given how powerful they said it was. I honestly think cps3 hardware was underpowered.
@@jeremygregorio7472 I don't honestly think that, I think its just a matter of they were already pushing it to its limit with 2nd Impact so they just had to make cuts if they were going to stay on the same hardware.
It's one of the few drawbacks to releasing arcade games in a consolized fashion compared to the old, old way where each game had its motherboard made specifically to handle that game and that game alone.
So that’s where tung fu rue was, vacationing in the street fighter universe
When he said BUUUMMMER, I felt that.
"Anti air me like a normal person!"
Says to the input reading ai computer :V
Ryu you pervert! You went to the girls side of the bath!
as a guy who had only played 3rd strike seeing this game is always fascinating
Any chance of a 2nd Impact Boss Rage vs Shin Akuma?
I still think Oro looks like a 1 Billion year old Homer Simpson lol
Ubiki's character art when she's defeated 😳😳😳
I did not need to see wrinkly Hulk nipples.
And Elena's standing animation is incredibly impressive no matter how often I see it.
13:05, Two goblins about to fight each other in a cave.
I love these persona 4 sound effects
Oro looks like walking talking old cheese.
Green means “moldy cheese”.
Blue means “blue cheese”
Red means “red hot chili pepper cheese”.
i just noticed that one of the girls in the background of the hot spring stage is Ibuki. how long have people known about that?
Immah keep it 💯 with ya'll.
Musically, aesthetically, stylistically...New Generation and Second Impact kick Third Strike's ass in a LOT ways. I'm super glad Third Strike Online let use customize the music at least.
Second impact is effectively a remake of sf3, right down to telling the same story with very minor changes. That's why many characters have the exact same endings.
Hugo looks normal in size SFIII...while Hugo at SFiV was so huge he looks like some kind of giant.
I tried playing this on my laptop through fc2 and i had massive trouble doing oro's up charge move
19:16
"Puny God!"
Me: *hears Elena's theme. Starts jamming.*
I wish they used Gill’s 2nd Impact stage in SFV. It would have looked so cool.
I see Max used the Emplemon Simpson's palette
When describing the dotydoty of the music. I think of CVS2 and it's mostly electric violin. And the bonus stage in 3rd Strike..YOUR ALL FUKIN THROUGH!!! IT'S JASON AND FREDDY AND MICHAEL MYERS!!! Did that ever get censored at some point like the American CVS1 Final Fight stage.
9:49 it's Smug with the greatest of ease.
Love your videos max
11:11 - Alex be like,
"ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴ'ᴛ ᴇsᴄᴀᴘᴇ!"
Ryu put that ass to WORK!
Sean in 2nd Impact, when he wasn't a complete joke.
Now he is the lamest shoto in Street Fighter series.
Dan is cooler than him these days.
Why they nerf him into oblivion in 3rd strike?
@@Budisgud69 he was the best character in the game so they reversed the roles in 3rd strike
@@The_Death_Owl i thought ibuki was considered the best
@@abraham3673 Ibuki seems to mostly be considered the very best but Sean is considered to be pretty overpowered too, probably second best.
0:53-Why the intro is a perfume comercial ?
Enjoying the oro legacy
"I AM GREEN AS SHIT"
...Max, i think you should see a doctor.
I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about Oro that makes him cool to watch. His animations? Maybe character concept?
The old master that's so thoroughly devoted to martial arts he is indistinguishable from a random hobo because nothing about society interests him?
Or his such extreme disinterest in his opponents that he looks like he has ADHD?
13:38
The moment Max realizes the AI can play footsies, and he gets salty about it, lmao.
i’ve always thought new gen and 2nd impact had prettier stages than 3rd strike
in general 3s presentation is a bit disappointing in comparison imho, only the sound design is better. I even prefer 2nd impact's ost
To me sean should be the next main character in a Street Fighter game, to me tho
It's probably going to be that Luke fella, but you know what? There's always room for a rival! Sean was trained by Ken, too, so it works out just right.
Max should do rate the intros lol
15:46 ... except for the fact that it's winter time now
