HOLY SMOKES! This is it. The greatest ski movie of all time. Nothing can top this. Just watched it for the first time and I am completely mesmerized.
We used to rotate this film along with a few Warren Miller ones in the VHS player back in the early 90s in the Rhein Main AB ski shop. This film is awesome especially the part starting at 12:20 downhill.

Glad you made it here, this is one of the first films to put Snowboarding on the map in Europe, It’s a Les Arc’s promotional films sponsored by Salomon Boots from back in the 1980’s a long time ago before Salomon even thought about doing Snowboards.
The Snowboarder Regis Roland a real Legend in the French Alps. It is a Genesis Bible film a first of full on Snowboarding. It got me hooked on Snowboarding when I used ski and there was nothing else to go to watch with so much footage. And it still rocks till this day……..👾👾👾🛸👾👾

la bande son aux synthés excellente...les fixas 747...les monos rossignol et duret ...les combis fluos...les années 80 ca envoyait vraiment du gros...que de bons souvenirs...

The soundtrack and the riding hold up incredibly well. Some of the lines are pretty wild and wouldn’t be out of place in films today. I had no idea people were ripping big lines on snowboards like that back then, pretty damn cool

I acquired Apocalypse Snow 1 & 2 nearly 30 years ago on VHS--which I still have--but it's been a while since I have been able to watch it, so I'm real happy to find it on RUclips!
Que de souvenirs précieux , des années de rêve pour un raideur . Une neige merveilleuse et des pionniers devant soi , j'ai eu une grande chance !
J’ai vu ce film à sa sortie en salle avec les auteurs ça s’appelait « Les nuits de la glisse » époque bénie et bien sûr on rêvait de faire pareil sur les pistes ! Moi ce sera le monoski, ça m’aura beaucoup aidé à skier serré pour la suite ! Quel bonheur de revoir ce film 40 ans après 👌👊
the first time I watched this video I was 8 (I'm 30 today), it was in a show on italian TV...it was the first time I saw a snowboard, just magic...I recored the show on a VHS and watched every year since then! DEFINITELY A MASTERPIECE ON SPORT MOVIES, so glad to find it on YT!!!

ARTZA 64 tu était a vulmix en quelle année car moi aussi ... a fort 2000 il y avait encore les décos du film quand ont partaient sur le terrain...........
The snowboarder has like a surfboard with 'bindings' under his feet. Still he does the same lines that the pro snowboarders do today. That's just amazing.
The first "real" snowboards were all like this. Burton was still making Snurfer like boards, while Apo and winterstick, were already working with side cut, taper and bindings.
And he didn't have high-backs
After 34 years I see this movie again and it gives me the will to snowboard again ! the secret still works !

Wow..! I remember this film from the mid 80s. I was just a kid, maybe 6 years old, and I watched it over and over and over again. Made me a snowboarder for life. Wonder what else this film thaught me, maybe that good guys wear headband, skiers are evil, be the cool guy that stands out, and last but not least, no matter how much you win in life, you'll lose in the end. They WILL get you, resistance is futile. :(

Excellent! Used to catch segments of this movie on the Ford Ski Report back in the 80s. Visited Les Arcs several times becaues of this. I have been telling people about this movie ever since, and now I can actually show them the movie.

Absolument hallucinant! Les pistes qui descendent pour toujours, le surf et les monoskis, et il y a même un prétexte de scénario! La bande sonore est bien choisie, dommage qu'on n'a pas la liste.
Au début, la musique est "black lightning", et puis il y a aussi "blue haze" de the gordon giltrap band
