Imagine a world where the technology and industry that allows those people to thrive in nature and even enjoy it without a care for the harsh conditions are honored. They wear it from head to toe and yet it is as invisible to them as it is to you.
Morgan P: That is such BS LOL. The world is filled with endless advertising and marketing of the products you refer to. And bored people around the world fill their closets, garages, lives with it - yet never experience 1/100th of what these guys do. I wonder why you are so triggered and defensive about Deasy’s comment? Do you have any insight into why your feathers are ruffled? Maybe because you live a mundane life and have never done anything like these guys? And you’re jealous and angry? Yet as a disconnected man with no self awareness you don’t realize this? Life is slipping away and you’re a cog in the machine “making product” for others? Just a guess. I could be wrong lol.
This is a film about being in awe of the powerful natural world in real time. Not to look back or to project forward. To find a perfect silence. "Boomer" or "Millennial" is a projection of someone else's view of the world. Let's all go find our own view and experience and throw the make believe book of urban dictionary terms onto the fire.
"If I want to change, I need to look inside myself. To find that intimate connection we all share with this planet. This way doing the right thing becomes an act of compassion rather than a moral obligation." That quote hit me really hard, and just completed this amazing video perfectly.
...God made man in his image so we could cultivate the lands; create farms of immense size; dig for coal; spread our beliefs to other civilisations ...and do it all without any questionning whether the origins of this monumental hubris we had was an archaic belief system that’s sole purpose was to put MAN at the centre of the universe. The same archaic belief system promises his favourite creation an eternity of joy or suffering after it all, depending on which version they believe. Get real mate. The whole message in this video is that humans are NOT the centre of the universe. The idea that ‘God did it for us’ is utterly antithetical to the video you just watched. Not to mention that if you think Heaven (the best part of life!) is coming after it all then why do you bother riding powder in the reality you see before you.
@@fastfreddy9341 Sanctimonious, yet satisfying. To Atheists you guys are like Flat Earthers or Chem Trail-ists...believing in something with no evidence and constantly sharing the conspiracy/story with whomever will listen. @@bimfred Here is what I have learned about you. You are angry, and judgmental. I don't see man at the center of the universe, and did not say so. God told us to subdue the earth in Genesis, which is to take care of it and protect it; thus my comment about being responsible about how our advancements affect it. Every time I watch this movie I can feel the emotions riding through my mind and body..it brings tears to my eyes because the message is so pure, so humble that only a person without any feelings can just dismiss it.
One of the most beautiful films I've experienced. Down at my soul level this is how i have felt. My late dear husband passed away in a storm, and knew this was climate change. Way too fast. My soul dream is film, ecology, psychology, dreamwork, helping people heal, mindfulness. 🙏🏿 How the soul heals. Thank you for sharing. Makes me cry. How we can heal ourselves, nature, animals, save the earth. So beautiful. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤❤❤
I keep watching this over and over again. There are so many great features: stunning visuals, story and message, and soundtrack. Makes me want to hit the slopes every time
I love the community that comes with skiing and snow boarding everyone is so positive because of the messages and the art of the videos really amazing.
Absolutely wonderful ! A majority of the shots gave me goosebumps, combined with the narrative created a pure bond between people & nature. Stunning piece of film!
Truly inspiring. This is what motivates me. Not only snowboard per se, but what surrounds us all at every time. To make these sort of experiences possible. It's a beautiful thing that shouldn't be overlooked. We all take part in making it possible.
Amazing film. Don't see very many (if any) that just focus on nature and incorporate mellow music to enhance the connection. Very well done all around!
This is definitely the best snowboarding video I have ever seen: just the simple yet indescribable pleasures of being in the backcountry and making some beautiful turns.
I really appreciated going on this journey with you gents. the philosophical development is some of the best i've seen. it's substantive seeing a blend between mountain film and inquiry like this
Wow! I love the reflection of connecting with the ecosystem. I love to snowboard and I have chosen a career in Forestry. I find both connect me to nature and it is beautiful. Loved the riding and the film. I've got one point of contention with the philosophy presented in it. Although this is more a contention with Patagonia at large, I feel like this is a good place to share it. If our own psychology effects our values for ecology and therefore our ecological reality, then ideologies also effect ecology. The ideology we exist within is Capitalist Realism. I'm sure that no one at Patagonia would disagree that the primary function of the Capitalist mode of production is to extract wealth and concentrate it, and that the idea of unlimited growth is impossible. Consider that the ideology of Capital also has an effect on both our own personalities and our ecological realities. How can we every address climate change if we are attempting to remedy it with an ideology that's existed for just a couple hundred years and caused a climate apocalypse? Meaningful ecology must compliment anti capitalism or the dialectic will shift towards fascism. The forestry worker in the town in the Australian video were right to ask if you've ever been in a town with no jobs - the future needs a solution outside the realms of Capital.
@Brad Gantt Yeah, i definitely appreciate the actions Patagonia is taking, so pretending was maybe a bit unfair from me. Anyway i got this feeling from the film, so i described this feeling that the film gave me and projected it onto the company and even though its an video from Patagonia this doesnt apply completely.
we people, are comfortable. and comfort is brought to us by technologies, some could even say that snowboarding is a comfortable way to get down a hill. but it is alos comfortable to be able to drive a car. Which cameramen can comfortable film a movie like this, without its technology we learned to use. the bad thing about the whole technology thing is, its needs energy. Until we are not able to find a way of harvesting the solar systems energy without destroying our planet, we will be in a pretty bad situation pretty soon. I dont think, the green minded people on this youtube threat are that stupid, that they didn't know, that also their lives contribute to the whole climate situation. I am well aware of it, that myself is destroying the planet. Soon I will be dead, but our children's children are in danger. What can we do, that is the question? Maybe our time will soon be over, and we should just enjoy the ride.
