Canon Surf I - Oldschool power
Was shown in remote french theaters during the " Nuits de la Glisse" in the late 80's. Brought many to the sport!

Regis and the crew showing what the french/swiss crew was about in 1986-7.

Regis is riding almost binding less ( Bataille straps with heel support)
The rest of the team is riding hardboots ( dynafit / koflach) on Hooger booger boards or Birdsurf
The sequel Canon surf II also features the same band, with a music that matches the riding greatly !

Toute mon adolescence. Je l’avais enregistré sur le magnétoscope et je le regardais en boucle. A l’époque il fallait rembobiner la cassette a chaque fois…😂

oh man. as a guy that started in '86 its pretty hard to watch all those counter rotated turns from before snowboarders figured out how to carve.. I get why the skiers gave us so much crap!

yes pretty much the case! Antoine Massy, who is wearing the yellow top jacket on hooger booger is however from the Swiss ski world and is one of the first to really use rotation instead of counter rotation whereas all the french riders are very counter rotating, even guys with huge level at the time like Denis Bertrand
