You only need to be in dim light or darkness to activate the flying. Light doesn't cancel the flight after it's activated. Your Channel Divinity produces dim light so you can activate the flight after doing it.
I am creating this character class for a new campaign that will take place in a DM created world where the sun has been shrouded for the last 40 years. There is no daylight, everything is in semi-darkness or darkness. This class seems like a great fit, both thematically and with its abilities. Of course some other domains, like light, are likely to be more powerful but I like the theme aspect, it just feels good. I have also decided to only wear a breastplate and do a dex build rather than a strength build. Potential AC is slightly lower, but movement is not slowed and I am not disadvantaged by armor. Plus I prefer the higher DEX for dex saves, stealth, and can still use rapier (martial, finesseable) and shield as needed.
Twilight Sanctuary is broken. Having the THP scale to your cleric level is too much for any level of play. At high levels, Its like using a single action to cast mass cure wounds 10 rounds straight without expending any spell slots or maintaining any sort of concentration. It can't be counterspell'd AND you get it back on a short rest.
I can’t deny this class’s power but honestly it’s not super exciting to me. I just can’t think of any characters I’d want to play who fit this domain thematically.
Seems like a weak cleric subclass imo. Oath, Light, Life, Tempest and Forage seem better and more fun to me. What if everyone you play with can already see in the dark... Edit: Maybe it just seems like an ultra boring lifeless class, I dono... I get the power in the heals and dark vision, if that's your thing, great =D

Time to buff up the barbarian with twilight sanctuary!
This subclass is super intriguing
1. the aura is always dim light so you can activate flight and 2. the flight only needs to start in dim light, it doesn't stop in bright light.
Well set up video thats easily digestible and short enough. Subbed.
nice video bro!
Seems like a powerful choice for Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign
What about playing a lycanthrope Twilight cleric with the "Haunted One" background?

I feel you. It is a strong subclass but I also struggle to find a character that I'd want to play. I still prefer the Peace Cleric between the two.
@@DungeoneersPack Absolutely, Peace domain has a cool flavor and fun mechanics that encourage teamwork.

It does seem a bit messy thematically.
They made it broken mechanically but it doesn’t make it fun... unless you like to see your DM suffer
