    I just ran that trigger test on the Single Action as you did in this video. My P-01 did not have any "hitches". I have 5200 rounds through mine. It's my edc so I have to keep it stock according to my IA. After 5000 rounds my double action dropped from 10.5 lbs to 8 lbs and my single action dropped from around 4.5 lbs to 3 lbs.. So it seems to really break in with use . Not sure why I don't get trigger bite anymore either. I do get it on my new SP-01.

      A lot of (piss poor) lawyers seem to claim "don't customize your weapon because it will be used against you in court". This claim is really just absurd.
      Solid rationale exists for carefully customizing an every day carry pistol - that being if the weapon is "customized" to make it "more accurate" from it's OEM (factory) condition (and therefor less LESS likely to hit an innocent bystander when fired in self-defense), would seem to make the customization utterly defensible. Credit card supporting evidence of membership at a gun range demonstrating at least monthly practice would tend to support the seriousness of the gun owner's defense. Any modification made to a firearm, rationally defensible in the interest of the diminishment of collateral damage, coupled with evidence of competent firearm ownership, would seem to indicate a "consciousness of responsibility" on the part of the firearm owner and evidence of his/her taking action to place a fired bullet into the person threatening life and taking deliberate action NOT to hit an innocent bystander.

      @@dmlchannel3262 the Sheriff that issued my CCW has a policy that the firearms on our permits can not be modified to deviate from manufacturers spec’s. So if you carry a SIG and install an SRT from Sig that’s ok. If I install a Cajun Gun works package in my CZ P-01 that’s not ok because CGW is not the manufacturer. This is in Commiefornia and the Sheriff is pro 2A. The state is anti and they blame law abiding gun owners for the actions of criminals.

    • @dmlchannel3262

      @@kagyu1 Yeah - you're "stuck"... and I'm sorry to hear that. If you have a very heavy DA trigger pulls that "stages", you're more likely to be somewhat less accurate in your first DA shot. Same is true for a followup shot in single action. The good thing is the P-01 does loosen up after 300-500 rounds though, so in time, it will improve. I specified mine to 7# DA and 3.5#SA and that's what I got. If, in time, the SA dips below 3# SA, adding a heavier lifter arm spring will put me back to ~ 3.5# SA trigger pull, which I personally prefer. ANY modification I perform to a carry firearm I do from the perspective of "how would I justify that modification in court and under cross-examination from a hostile district, or city, attorney".
      Absolutely LOVE my P-01. Ergonomics, concealability, accuracy, reliability are all there in the P-01.
      I'm selling a SIG P229 to finance the purchase of another. While I never quite understood people owning two copies of the same pistol, I "get it" now. If my primary goes down, I still want another P-01 in my AIWB holster.

      @@dmlchannel3262 I’ve got 7200 rounds through my P-01. I installed a new 20# hammer spring because my trigger pull dropped. Results :20 # original factory hammer spring ( 4000 live rounds through it) DA: 6.13 / SA 2.42
      New Wolff 20# hammer spring
      DA: 7.13 / SA :2.37.
      I’m also thinking of buying another. It’s that good.

      @dmlchannel3262 3 года назад

      @@kagyu1 Great. A #2.37 SA trigger pull is too light for my taste, but of course that's all subjective and a matter of personal preference. I am a bit confused though... if you added a non-OEM component, the Wolff 20# hammer spring, aren't you running afoul of your Sheriff requiring no aftermarket parts in a CCW EDC pistol? These are remarkable pistols - I'm not crazy about the firing pin retaining pin design used, but with hardened roll pins, it's a non-issue.

    I have a P-01 and an SP-01 Shadow. I did the full kit to the shadow and just changed the trigger itself on the P-01 because I can't stand that sharp hooked trigger either. My finger hurts after one mag on the stock trigger. I'm running the same light as well and I'm debating doing more to the trigger, but probably not the pro kit, probably the carry kit. Other than the hooked trigger I absolutely love these guns as well as my P-09, and it's so cool to see the improvements that can be had from a couple hours and a CGW kit.

      I'm 72 and never messed with gun internals before, other than breaking down for cleaning. I installed a CGW kit in my PCR ... you can do it. MCarbo & CGW have very good videos on the procedure. Hardest part was getting that tiny lifter spring in place. Buy a couple, they are not expensive, because it will most likely pop out on you. I was lucky and saw where mine landed but I had a backup one just in case. The de cocker cage is the hard part, trigger, firing pin, hammer and hammer spring were easy. The rest of the time involved is how much you want to do on polishing the parts smooth...if you even want to mess with that. I did. ( Good luck

Basically scaring me away from it. Saying it would have somewhat a hair trigger, that he imagines only Seals could be competent enough to handle and operate it safely, once Cajunized. What are your thoughts on this? I had my heart set on it but was scared away ultimately and sent the kit back for a return. Figure I'll use the money towards a subcompact pistol. I won't even mention how many hours it took me to complete the first one... but the second installation, with the right tools, while still a pain, is far easier. The end result is entirely worth the effort - 7.3# DA, 3.7# SA.

CGW gunsmiths had an in-house competition to see which gunsmith could reassemble a fully functional sear cage - the winner accomplished that task in approximately 1 minute IIRC. Practice makes perfect obviously. In the end, the CZ P-01, with the Pro Carry package installed, is an absolute joy to shoot. It's hands down my favorite compact, hammer-fired, pistol in 30+ years of shooting.

      @@unknownunknown3025 The Springfield is a solid performer - fired one, liked it a lot, but eventually bought a Sig P365 for summertime carry in Phoenix because of the availability of the frame mounted manual safety which I require for a striker fired pistol carried at the appendix - I flip the safety on when reholstering, flip it off, and leave it off, until it's been pulled, and fired again. That may be heresy for some, but it works for me. Obviously no need with the P-01, thumb down on the hammer on reholstering. Happy shooting - keep 'em in the black.

    Trigger Snob. Grin. I call it Trigger Disdain. Good triggers spoil you against terrible triggers. What is great about CZs is the DA/SA design and the ergo grips. I also like the way the slide and frame are machined with slide inside of frame. Novel? Yes. Slightly thinner? Yes? Good guns no doubt. BUT.... the Big But. CZ guns have notoriously crappy triggers. I just don't understand why the hell they allow them to leave the factory like that. I just dropped my CZ PCR with David at CGW (I live close enough) and I'm looking forward to getting it back. My Holy Grail DA/SA trigger is a Colt Python. I dare someone to tell me they got something better than that. My second best and as a semi-automatic is a Langdon Tactical Beretta 92 Elite. Wow. That Beretta is like BUTTER. Now, my two Sigs (226 and M11A1) come VERY close to that LTT but it is obvious the LTT is smoother all around. I'm hoping my CZ comes back as smooth as the Sigs or better. I'm carrying the M11A1 at this very moment and I know I can squeeze off that heavy DA pull without any "hitches" along the way. The M11A1 has a SRT short reset trigger and it is sweet. Anyway, there's a LOT that goes into a good DA/SA trigger pull. But it clearly is do-able as proven by Langdon and Sig. I'd love to see CZ step up their quality at the factory and do at least as good as Sig as a standard pistol.

    Do you think it’s worth sending one of the to Cajun to have their full package done with new grips, DLC, new parts and RMR cut even though it’s a $1500 upgrade? Reason I ask is I can get a Kriss Sphinx for under $900 and it’s perfect from the factory.

    Are the dawson sights the best option for 75’s?

    • @mikek6869
      @mikek6869 4 года назад

      Depends. For the PCR (vice this P01) the choices are pretty limited. If you want fiber optic front and rear, I'd go with the specially designed Dawson FO sights. But I prefer a black rear sight and a FO front, so I called CZ Custom and ordered their tactical rear sight and a 5.5 mm (factory height) FO front site. The CZC rear site extends to the rear of the frame and increases the sight radius, while also covering that weird trough in front of the CZ Compact/PCR factory sights.

      I own a Sig P229, a Sig P365X, a Sig P220, a Glock 19 and a Glock 20 (as a "camp gun"). Love all five... but my Cajunized CZ P-01 is my EDC. Make of that what you will.

    • @dmlchannel3262
      @dmlchannel3262 3 года назад +1

      @@selaxlife7621 I've never owned a Springfield. Not because I have any "bias" against them, but just never did. I know Springfield pistols to be quality firearms. I was always an owner of Sig and Glock firearms. Thirty years ago, I owned a Tanfoglio made version of the CZ 75, and that firearm was a disaster in terms of reliability and accuracy. It put me "off" CZ firearms, stupidly on my my part, for decades. I fired a CZ P-01 at a range last year and loved it. So I bought one... and I absolutely love my CZ P-01. The only design specification I dislike about the P-01 is it's firing pin retaining pin... but I have a bag of firing pin retaining pin replacements, so I'm all good on the P-01.
      I don't own any Beretta pistols, and have no desire to own any in the future, but if anyone wants to donate a fine Beretta 20 gauge over and under to me, I'll "accept" it.
