I love that we're actually learning something from you now. DED kind of shorted you from being able to really teach anything. And you have SO MUCH to teach.
I was so sad to hear about Dirt Every Day, I’m glad you and Fred have RUclips channels and are still filming yourselves doing cool stuff. Appreciate you!
The naches trail is good, but it closes like November 15th or so. Tahuya is a fun park but a little on the easier side. Walker valley and Elbe hills are a more hard core. The Washington back country discovery route is long, fun but pretty easy.
I agree. A big mistake. Dirt Every Day is one of the reasons I Joined Motor Trend On Demand. Losing Dirt Every Day makes me wonder if I even need Motor Trend anymore.
I think when people make a mistake It just adds character to the vehicle it's all trial by error. That's what makes it so fun to work on your own vehicle. Plus when you have awesome people like Dave! showing you tips and tricks. That's what it's all about having fun and make mistakes.
From someone who has crazy paint ideas but lacks the skill to execute them as I see them in my head, thank you. This video enlightened me and got me excited to really try some things out on my builds in the future. All your videos are awesome and the how I got here video was like looking at someone else telling my story. I related to so many parts of your story as mine is very similar. It's motivating me to start my own series of videos to share my creations, knowledge and techniques with everyone. I'm going to build this stuff regardless so I might as well share it and maybe inspire the next generation of people who just like building cool stuff. Thank you. Keep on mini trucking!
that hood is the most gangster thing i've seen in a hot minute. I literally made a note in my phone last night, for a build idea of a modern car built in lowrider style.. the water drop fade, brother. the mondo paint drip, love it. This one had a somber tone, hope it was just a quick step on the journey. Looking forward to your eclectic style and future projects.
Dave Dude, thank you for all the tips n tricks and keeping the content flowing, I don't know how you keep it going, but I for one, SURE appreciate it 🤘
Just got done watching Fred drop his axel and now some Dave stuff trying to paint a hood,,, it's all good in fact it's great to see you both wrestle with your jeeps. makes me feel like I'm not doing to bad with mine. 🤠👍thanks Dave💯
Yea, guys don't be scared to make mistakes... especially if you have a Sean in your back pocket who can bust out awesome paint jobs on his lunch break! We need more frequent Dirthead videos!
That’s crazy that hood is paint. I saw some of the shots of it before and figured it was wrapped. Very impressive. Especially for being done in a day. Good work and great video!
Happy for you, the detailed hood, one of a kind, just for you & for posterity (I suppose). And for your effort on the silver hood, and the explanation re the wheels & tires; that's worthwhile & interesting. Good luck to you in your continued endeavor with your rig - and riding it.
I did my first paint job on my 56 Chevy Big Window PU in my garage after stripping off five of the previous paint jobs. I laid it down in a Porsche Red the paint looked good but my prep work sucked. Prep is definitely a blind man’s job it’s all about feeling the body panels.
That hood is BA. It’s good to see a salute to your time at DED. Definitely ended on top. I can’t wait for the non compete crap to run out so your and Fred can work together on here.
There’s this other guy on RUclips making off-road content. I think his name is Fred. I bet you two would get along great. It’d be neat to see the two of you do a collaboration. 😂 Loving the channel. Keep the motivation coming!
Good work mixing the volume on the intro! I was getting too used to smashing that "volume down" button after your cold opens haha. Love that you're hitting the ground running, keep it up!
Love the show Dave,. Please talk to Hagerty,. They have some great content and a fab/build show would be real cool,. Your calm delivery with just basic tech like you have been doing would be great...
Mistakes happen, you just try not to make it worse and figure out what to do next. That's life, especially when you're doing things you've never done before. Came out sick!
I loved the vid. I appreciate the work your buddy did that is respect from me to both of you. I have messed up and I am not afraid to ask for help...sometimes ahead of time. lol
Great work brother your positive attitude and willingness to just go with it and not let things f your day up is a inspiration for all of us to strive for. Hope you had a incredible ultimate adventure trip and time. God bless you and yours have a great weekend brother 🙏.
I still think your paint skills are pretty sick. Not many fabricators can lay it down like you. That paint job was a bit extreme for even the most skilled painter.
That's awesome love how that turned out. I just got a Cervini's shaker hood put on my 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T and did something not everyone would do with the shaker scoop color choice but it really makes it pop the hood is black with silver racing stripes and the shaker scoop is almost a Ford grabber blue it really pops and shows off the shaker scoop verses the normal paint matching scheme it also matches the aftermarket shifter knob for the 6 speed manual transmission. Also put 345 HEMI badges on the shaker scoop.
Dude that hood looks sweet! Such a great remembrance of that chapter of your life! Love all the videos you've put out and I've always liked your work, so I'm gonna keep on watching!
U are killing it buddy keep it up!! If u just go out and wheel it after u work on stuff be better then dirt every day if I’m honest and obviously get Fred to come sometimes.
Really liking the new series...I'd like it better if you built a toyota...but that's neither hear nor their...can't wait to see you both on the new UA!!!

Truly a pleasure, if I may ask, do you have a favorite trail in Wa? I’m located there and would love to get out and find some.
Have not wheeled here much yet
The naches trail is good, but it closes like November 15th or so. Tahuya is a fun park but a little on the easier side. Walker valley and Elbe hills are a more hard core. The Washington back country discovery route is long, fun but pretty easy.
Hearing Mom's Spaghetti go through the gears brings back so many memories of the farm trucks I grew up driving!
It’s pretty clunky
@@thedirtheadshed I believe that's what HGTV would call "character" and "charm"
Thanks for your authenticity in sharing the mess-ups. This is why you're where you are today. Thanks Dave!
Thanks for following along!
That paint job was awesome Shawn did an excellent job the people who decided to cancel dirt every day made a big mistake
Thanks . It’s a wild ride

yeah i learned something , i learned some things are best left to the pro's .. that bonnet is truly stunning
Thanks! I needed help
The fact that he was able to do a job so detailed in just a day or two is nothing short of incredible. Outstanding work!
It’s all about knowing the tricks and having a ridiculous deadline
@@thedirtheadshed Well it wouldn't be Ultimate Adventure without a few ridiculous deadlines thrown in.
Literally my favorite RUclips channel the painting was cool and something different 🤘🏼
Thanks! One of my favorite things
That water drop is so cool. I’ve never seen that before.
All kinds of cool tricks
Outstanding ! Fun to see it created and come to life. Every video you feed us is informative and interesting so keep 'em rollin 🤙👍
Thanks! Paint is the best. Real prep and bodywork…. Eh
would have liked to have seen him paint that plaid part, hood came out looking great
