Man, now I have the song from Last of the Mohicans (1992) playing in my head over and over, and I can’t make it stop!!! I guess it will keep playing long after I buy the supplement too. Insanity, why suffer from it? Embrace it! Lol
Hey Mr. JOW! The French & Indian War has long been an era that I am interested in. Song of Drums & Tomahawks is a solid introduction. (I'm really looking forward to the JOW treatment of "The Pequot Wars" to boot! HUZZAH!) "This Very Ground" by Iron Ivan Games is VERY good, and "The Long Rifle" by 2 Hour Wargames is outstanding! HaT Industries Miniatures (available from The Michigan Toy Soldier Company, out of Detroit, has released some Seven Years War & American Revolution figures in 1/72nd Scale that are easy on the Ol' Warchest! The Woodland Indian Set by Italari should still be easily available as well. Their presence gives the Wargamer a great opportunity for some pun/names. The continuing adventures of Running Turtle and his warriors, Standing Water, Screaming Rabbit, Snake In Grass, Walking Eagle, Limping Bear, Sleeping Possum, Heavy Squirrel, Followed By Buzzards, and Talking Turkey etc., stand pretty tall in my tales of the frontier of Pennslytucky! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! (God help me! It takes SO little to keep me amused!) Don't even ask about the ill-fated Colony of Kentenasee! Courier de Bois translates in English to "Woods Runner"... A French/Canadian who lived with the Native Tribes and had adopted their culture and ways... yet... would answer the call of the Canadian Governor. If you're looking for inspiration for scenarios, take a look at "Gorham's Rangers" out of Nova Scotia. Lots of amphibious boat actions, classic Indian Fighter ambushes & patrols, Village Raids & Retaliations, the whole "Petite Warfare" topic! Good stuff all around!
This is a terrific game! Mike Demana and friends did a bang-up job on this one. He just retired from teaching. I had a chance to play this one with him. The historical personalities are really neat. I live in an area where a lot of these people lived. The character options give a lot of flavor without pushing things into the fantastic.
Thanks for the great run-through the book, sir! I appreciate all the nice things you said about the game (and me...ha, ha!). Is it okay if I link your video on the First Command Wargames web page? By the way, my scenario book/supplement, "Beaver Wars" has LOTS of generic scenarios you could use. It is also set in the earlier period, but they are typical situations of inter-tribal warfare that could happen at any time on the American frontier. I'm curious - what's your "handle" over at Lead Adventure Forum? Thanks again!
@@TheJoyofWargaming - awesome, thanks! I will add the link next time I update the website. Thanks again! Planning on starting to make my way through your extensive collection of videos...impressive!
Oh good, another period I'm hoping to get to myself. Got some Brits and a friend has the rules just need to find room in the painting pile for opponents (who knows when that might be). Coureur des bois (you're right to doubt the spelling though people probably wrote it any which way back then) are runners of the woods from courir=run not couer=heart.

Haven’t been fooling around RUclips for a while! Know you’ve been turning out videos like crazy, keep it going!
Conquest miniatures are now available through Warlord Games. Look under the Black Powder section. Very nice figures.
Looking forward to seeing any scenarios you plan to run. The Song system is a favorite of mine for small skirmish games.
Never doubt Mr. Wargaming. :)

@@andrewparkin8222 Ooooh! That makes sense! Courier Boys.
Any book that's titled Song of blank and blank annoys me.
