I always love this specific moment at 3:27, when most of the instruments goes quiet in preparation for the guitar drop, it was a little more present in the original version of the song, but the Definitive Edition version just shreds so much harder that it is a no brainer.
Happy to hear you've started playing XCDE. I hope you enjoy the game! Definitely agree on this being one of those battle themes you can hear forever, I think that's something the series in general does really well. XC2's first battle theme is one of my favorite tracks in the series for that reason, it's the kind of song that i can hear for a couple hundred hours and still get pumped for.
MORE XENOBLADE CONTENT WOOOOOOOO I really love Mechanical Rhythm. The sheer intensity fits the point of the story it plays in like a glove and it’s a blast to listen to even outside of the game. I do not know how the same people who made Engage the Enemy made this, but I sure as hell ain’t complaining!
If you are a sidequest person, be sure to check the different hours of the day. I usually check 5-6am, before noon, 3pm, sunset, 9pm, and 1am. That will usually ensure that you get all the sidequests Enel also has tons of good guides out there
HEEEELLLL YEEEEEEAAAAAAAH Was not expecting this. Fricking awesome mix of heavy metal and classical. Just headbanging and gracefulness actually went really well together lol. Game music really does show a side of magical music we never really see anywhere else.
1:42 You're actually right! It indeed has to do with what you said, however I won't tell you exactly what is it considering you're already playing the game so that you can experience it for yourself
This track certainly sets the tone for the part of the story you're at when you hear it. Not only is it a banger, but it also has such a beautiful combination of instruments at play. I can see what you mean with the main part feeling mechanical, and the strings kinda trying to dominate with the humanity... Honestly, it feels like the homs are pushing back against the mechanical pressure
I hope you enjoy the game! XC1 is truly a special game and everyone should at least experience the story of it. If you are still unspoiled, you will cry, cry, laugh and get so so hyped at every little turn. I found you thanks to your XC reactions and I will continue watching, since your insight is something rarely seen on youtube.
I fell in love with Xenoblade with the 3D port on the 3DS years ago, I’m so happy you’ll be able to experience this brilliant story, I hope you enjoy it.
Mechanical Rhythm is one of my favorite piece in the Xenoblade saga, heck. In any video game really. It's fast, it's thrilling, it's fun. It's like being in the heat of the battle itself. It's so engrossing and engaging I look forward to whenever it plays in XCDE. Fun video as always dood!
Xenoblade Chronicles are some of the best JRPGs ever and both have a legendary soundtrack.. Can't wait for part 3 this friday and the soundtrack is one of those things I'm really looking forward to. That and its absolute stellar world design, characters and story of course
So this is a late game standard battle theme in Xenoblade 1, and due to how that game handles standard battles, this plays when you start a fight with the upper hand. If instead you're ambushed, the song "Irregular Bounce"/"Irregular Bound" plays. That song is an equally fantastic metal/funk fusion song that gets pretty overshadowed by Mechanical Rhythm. It's definitely worth a listen, but I would say that applies to most songs in the Xenoblade OSTs.
Also, the equivalent of this song for Xenoblade 2 would be "Still, Move Forward!" It has quite a few similarities, but leans more heavily into synthetic sounds.
Yay more Xenoblade!! the music in the Xenoblade series never fails to give that exciting feeling of mix emotions. Its just good, no complains just good food to consume (even in Xenoblade Chronicles X with its sci-fi kind of music).
“I feel like this is about the Monado, or the Mechon, or a battle, or someone who wields the Monado, or it’s some sort of turning point in the game-“ You are somehow simultaneously correct about all of these things! At least, in very broad strokes XD have fun finding out!
If thought MR was kick ass you have to listen to Zanza the divine. In my opinion it’s the best song in DE. There’s also the fogbeast theme and despair over animus and who knows what 3 will be adding. Yeah this series has some fantastic music
I’m so glad you’ve finally listened to this one! Undoubtedly one of the best themes from the game, it’s a theme you won’t forget for a very long time. Would love to also see your reaction to either “An Obstacle in our Path” or “The God Slaying Sword” if you do, a couple more of my personal favorites from the game
I've read a couple texts about Xenoblade 3, and in the last one (the July 27th one), they do talk a bit about the music. And they say that the flutes they have in the tracks, they had two of them custom-made and played them for the tracks. Yasunori Mitsuda, who suggested making them, is a madman.
….. you’re going to absolutely love the MUSIC of the final battle of the game. Don’t worry, since you’re playing it, I won’t spoil even the name! It’ll be a experience you need to see and hear, so you can understand why it’s a incredible masterpiece!!
Mechanical Rhythm is such a jam! I'm personally very fond of the way in which it sounds like it loops the first time (at about 3:20 in this video), but it actually hasn't yet, so then the drop happens again (around 3:49 in this video) and it blows you away by going even harder than the first go-around. Mechanical Rhythm is super intense, but not uncontrolled. It's wonderful.
Absolutely love this song. Another favorite song of mine from Xenoblade Chronicles DE is "Satorl Marsh (night)". Just a very serene and melancholic score that I find incredibly soothing to listen to.
I've always considered the original track from Xenoblade Chronicles to be way better than the Definitive Edition version, but I'm curious what other people think. Such a banger battle theme, I'm also super glad you picked up the game and started playing it!
Note: If you enjoy Xenoblade OST, try listening to Xenogears OST. its part of the Xeno series which Tetsuya Takahashi created and its the first Xeno game he made.
Okay, now I need to know your thoughts on the Battle Themes for XCDE Future Connected and XC2 Torna…. 👀👍 Especially Torna; literally Persona 5 levels of PURE jazz.
Hi! I LOVE your videos! Especially since I am a full time gamer and film watcher! Keep up the good work! Oh and I have a piece that I'm sure you would LOVE: Viego the ruined Kings theme (from league of legends) his theme actually tells his entire lore and I love it so much! I listen to it daily and I would love your thoughts on it!
It's a shame I could never get into xenoblade, cause I love everything about the franchise EXCEPT the gameplay. I still listen to the whole ost all the time tho :,)
I’ve been watching a few of these videos and, ya know loving em… but then I just realised… How has nobody recommended this man some persona 5 music? or persona in general. Like “Last surprise” or “Life will change” from persona 5 or anything really?! I feel like that’s just a right of passage for any video game music reaction channel! Seriously people get on this!
You should try listening to some tracks from Final Fantasy 13. Despite the mostly negative opinions that people have about this game, it's undeniable that the OST is amazing and very unique when compared to the rest of the Final Fantasy games. I'd recommend tracks such as Will to Fight, The Gapra Whitewood, Lightning's Theme, Oerba Village (from ff13-2), and Paradigm Shift (from ff13-2). Love the content, keep it up!
Hey man love the vids, would you consider reacting to some CRPG music? Pillars of eternity and pathfinder: wrath of the righteous have some excellent tracks.
I really need to get off my backside and finish XC1; I like the story, music, and characters, but it's been difficult for me to utilize the battle mechanics properly, and it honestly doesn't really feel "fun" to play. Anyway, glad to see you covering this soundtrack; it really is one of, if not THE, best aspects of the game.
the biggest tip I can give for the first game is to always be utilizing break and topple, in the first game if you keep using topple arts on a toppled enemy the timer just keeps stacking, and enemies take more damage while toppled so it'll make battles faster and easier since they're on the ground. also don't let the AI try to control Melia lol
Glaad to see you started playing the games. I wont spoil where it plays. But this is just a normal battle theme. This shitt plays while you just fight some crabbles
I'd argue both versions of the soundtrack are phenominal. Subtle differences here and there. But the difference is very noticeable. Check this same song out in the OG ost and compare it. I swear its not nostalgia. I usually switch the OST to OG when this song first appears. Because by then, you get a GREAT taste of both halves, no matter what you're doing.
Can you post something on the community tab when you get to the part in Xenoblade where this song plays? I just want to see a fragment of your reaction if possible.
I do generally prefer the original XC1 soundtrack over XCDE, but that's by far not saying XCDE's renditions are weak in anyway, it's just preference. Still, after most major themes are covered I'd maybe look forward to some comparisons between the renditions~
I usually preffer the arrangements of the original Xenoblade on Wii, I feel the tracks on DE are way too extra sometimes. Is it only me? Like this track way too crazy on the percussion and the guitar solos and other sounds are overshadowed because of this. Just listen to the original version: ruclips.net/video/Q0W0VyaoZzY/видео.html It's so much cleaner and balanced.
I always love this specific moment at 3:27, when most of the instruments goes quiet in preparation for the guitar drop, it was a little more present in the original version of the song, but the Definitive Edition version just shreds so much harder that it is a no brainer.
100% agree! The only other thing I liked about the original is the drum break down at the very end just as it's about to loop.

Unfinished Business moment

One of the few Xenoblade songs that have lyrics is "Beyond the Sky".
It's really beautiful and I really recommend it!
I would too but since he’s playing it maybe I wouldn’t haha
It follows in much the same tradition as Stars of Tears from Xenogears!
1:42
You're actually right!
It indeed has to do with what you said, however I won't tell you exactly what is it considering you're already playing the game so that you can experience it for yourself

I can see what you mean with the main part feeling mechanical, and the strings kinda trying to dominate with the humanity...
Honestly, it feels like the homs are pushing back against the mechanical pressure
i felt my brain move headbanging to this absolute BANGER
It is in fact a battle theme, but that's all I'll say. It's a damn badass one tho lmao
I played this game on the Wii. Was a crazy game for the trash that was the Wii.
I fell in love with Xenoblade with the 3D port on the 3DS years ago, I’m so happy you’ll be able to experience this brilliant story, I hope you enjoy it.
0:59 I LOVE when the violins soar in. Gets my adrenaline flowing and sounds so powerful. Favourite part of the song. Such a fun battle theme.
Hands down, my favorite battle theme from Xenoblade Chronicles. Possibly only rivaled by “Unfinished Battle”
When we talk about music that makes the game come alive even in the dull moments
I don't play Xenoblade, but this piece knocks it out of the park, through the parking lot, and into the stratosphere. Amazing and epic!
xenoblade basically mastered game music
Xenoblade Chronicles are some of the best JRPGs ever and both have a legendary soundtrack..
Can't wait for part 3 this friday and the soundtrack is one of those things I'm really looking forward to.
That and its absolute stellar world design, characters and story of course
really enjoy your thoughts and analysis on the xenoblade tracks!
Thanks!
So glad to hear you started playing the game again! Excited for you to work your way through the series.

I cannot wait to hear the music in Xenoblade 3! Also, I would love a video where you break down your actual top 10 video game soundtracks.
That's a great idea actually. WIll be a long video :)
Notice the usage of bells as instruments. It's very subtle on this one, but in others you will hear them way more.
“I feel like this is about the Monado, or the Mechon, or a battle, or someone who wields the Monado, or it’s some sort of turning point in the game-“

Don’t have much to add, Xenoblade music is good and so are your reacts
I have a biggggg request for Battle!! Torna from xenoblade 2 it’s by far my favorite song ever, it’s just FREE FORM JAZZ
this is a patreon suggestion so it'll happen as soon as I can get around to it.
YO? I was honestly about to ask how to request it on patreon (or even how to use it in the first place)
Edit: Thank you to whoever you are!!
Damn, I didn't remember that track but the memories are coming back. It's so fire.
Xenoblade music always makes me FEEL
I’m so glad you’ve finally listened to this one! Undoubtedly one of the best themes from the game, it’s a theme you won’t forget for a very long time. Would love to also see your reaction to either “An Obstacle in our Path” or “The God Slaying Sword” if you do, a couple more of my personal favorites from the game
Video: Let's check it out
> 5 seconds in
Head bang starts.
Me: hell yeah !!! Let's destroy all the mechon !!!
I’m curious about that!!
1:45 actually it's just a regular enemy fight theme lol
FYI, this is just the second NORMAL battle theme. This plays while you defeat trash mobs, not any epic boss.
….. you’re going to absolutely love the MUSIC of the final battle of the game. Don’t worry, since you’re playing it, I won’t spoil even the name!
It’ll be a experience you need to see and hear, so you can understand why it’s a incredible masterpiece!!
Would love to see you react to XBC2' Torna Battle Theme
Mechanical Rhythm is such a jam! Love this song, so epic :3
Only one that tops this is you will know our names
Coming down the road
Now I'm excited to imagine your reaction when you hear Hiroyuki Sawano's XC soundtrack!
Love your content
I'm currently on my first playthrough. Fighting my way through the Mechonis was incredible.
Epic is just the way you can describe xenoblade as a whole.
This battle music is out of this world, I think it's so hype it can't be topped by any other in the series.
Absolutely love this song. Another favorite song of mine from Xenoblade Chronicles DE is "Satorl Marsh (night)". Just a very serene and melancholic score that I find incredibly soothing to listen to.
This used to be my alarm to wake up lol
I've always considered the original track from Xenoblade Chronicles to be way better than the Definitive Edition version, but I'm curious what other people think. Such a banger battle theme, I'm also super glad you picked up the game and started playing it!
So you started playing, enjoy the game ! Welcome in the Xeno-team !
Xenoblade is beautiful
Engage the enemy is by far my favorite track in this game, but this one is up there.
This song is just too good
If you like xenoblade music, maybe you should check xenogears and xenosaga too!
Note: If you enjoy Xenoblade OST, try listening to Xenogears OST. its part of the Xeno series which Tetsuya Takahashi created and its the first Xeno game he made.
Xenoblade X OST Black Tar review when?!
I beat XCDE a year ago and... Holy crap is it good. That ending will blow your mind. Hope you stick with the game because it is worth it
Marco I would absolutely love see you react to "Kings Raid - The Right (English version)"
Wow this is such a banger
u should totally check out “A Tragic Decision”, my personal favorite from the first game
I was trying to concentrate on the review, but it was IMPOSSIBLE with the GigaPikachu on the back xD
The what?! :D
thanks for putting spoiler in the title. epic indeed
I have a feeling you'd love the soundtrack of The Last Remnant
You can feel Monado's power on this track
Okay, now I need to know your thoughts on the Battle Themes for XCDE Future Connected and XC2 Torna…. 👀👍 Especially Torna; literally Persona 5 levels of PURE jazz.
These new thumbnails look really good!
Thanks! This guy reached out and he’s amazing.
this was awesome, also please listen Spirit Crucible Elpys! t hanks
i know xenoblade 3 just came out but I'd highly recommend giving vs. moebius a listen!! it's by far my favourite track in the game so far
mechanical rhythm is the mechon battle theme on the mechonis
YES THIS SONG IS FIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
God the sheer energy in this song is just, hnnng
Also
Day fifty-four of recommending Stay Gold from the Arknights OST
There are a handful of songs I prefer the original versions over the Definitive. This one is great both ways.
i love this ost but it's different from the old ost
Hi! I LOVE your videos! Especially since I am a full time gamer and film watcher! Keep up the good work!
Oh and I have a piece that I'm sure you would LOVE:
Viego the ruined Kings theme
(from league of legends)
his theme actually tells his entire lore and I love it so much! I listen to it daily and I would love your thoughts on it!
🙏🙏🙏👍 it’s on my list! Thanks for being here
It's a shame I could never get into xenoblade, cause I love everything about the franchise EXCEPT the gameplay. I still listen to the whole ost all the time tho :,)
I’m sure you’ll be pretty shocked when you eventually find out what battle this plays for lol
and this is just the normal battle theme in the later part of the game yes. xD
You Should listen to the Image theme from the xenosaga series! It should be on the composers 2nd album called fiction 2
I’ve been watching a few of these videos and, ya know loving em… but then I just realised…
How has nobody recommended this man some persona 5 music? or persona in general.
Like “Last surprise” or “Life will change” from persona 5 or anything really?! I feel like that’s just a right of passage for any video game music reaction channel!
Seriously people get on this!
Our light has been the only one. LETS GO.
You should try listening to some tracks from Final Fantasy 13. i love ff13 music
Gigachad Pikachu
I hope you to share your experience when you arrive at Kishin's Field, the music is SO good there.
I said Kishin because I don't want to spoil you.
Hey man love the vids, would you consider reacting to some CRPG music? Pillars of eternity and pathfinder: wrath of the righteous have some excellent tracks.
Sure!
This one goes hard
I really need to get off my backside and finish XC1; I like the story, music, and characters, but it's been difficult for me to utilize the battle mechanics properly, and it honestly doesn't really feel "fun" to play.

👀
@@MarcoMeatball on a side note i like to sing myself and i finally sang my first subharmonic note yesterday
Oh, you started playing it! Nice! Savour it. Worst thing about Xenoblade games is...youll never get to first time then again.
You should listen to the final boss theme of Bravely Default II (Eyes that Gaze into the Nexus)
Think you’d like it!
It’ll come soon
@@MarcoMeatball 👀👀👀👀
That's a mean bass.
You started playing Xenoblade Chronicles?
Did you get to the Gaur Plains?

I think XC1 has a great soundtrack, but XC2 soundtrack is even better. I can't wait to hear the XC3 soundtrack.
Noooo! Where’s the beard!?! 😔
Please react to Genshin's Enkanomiya OST
I usually preffer the arrangements of the original Xenoblade on Wii, I feel the tracks on DE are way too extra sometimes. Is it only me? Like this track way too crazy on the percussion and the guitar solos and other sounds are overshadowed because of this.
Just listen to the original version: ruclips.net/video/Q0W0VyaoZzY/видео.html
It's so much cleaner and balanced.
Huh you’re right
Is the Definitive edition version, original is shorter but better
I love XC3 music for sure, but the story and direction just does not allow for epic tracks like XC1 has
