Amazingly Beautiful
Unbelievable rhythmical right hand technique. I love how you'll hardly ever, if ever, see Al doing a hammer on or pull off. Now that's full control over expression. Definitely one of my favourites.
This is where Al is at his best.
I saw Al and then Stanley Clarke in the same week - both from the front row: a decidedly good week.
Nobody shreds like Al Dimeola
His ballots are just as impressive
Been listening to Al since 1974, I have also met him several times. One of my favorites is soaring through a dream. He is the most versatile guitarist of all time, as well as his speed, accuracy, clean elegant style is just remarkable, a true master on the Ovation. He is the golden standard and no guitarist can ever fill his place. The Caruso / Pavarotti of the guitar world. The only other guitarist whom I considered the finest was Paco (King of Flamenco), also have tremendous respect for Pat (brilliant jazz guitarist).
I was watching a video of John McLaughlin (acoustic) on RUclips yesterday and one guy wrote essentially the same thing as you in the comments...!
Two impressive guitarists in their own right, albeit with very different styles.
This whole video contains 4 different pieces not just red moon. He initially plays a part cafè 1930, his take on a Piazolla piece. Second is an excerpt from rhapsody of fire. The only 2 full songs played are when he gets in to hypnose which leads to red moon as it is on the consequences of chaos album from 2006, one of my favorites!
I'm and Al Di fan dating back to the late 70s. This has some of the most lyrical acoustic playing of Al's recent concert performances that I've seen. Thanks a lot for sharing this!
Amazing medley from one of my favorite concert DVDs; "Rhapsody Of Fire" / Hypnose"
and finally, my favorite track from Al's "Consequence Of Chaos" CD, "Red Moon".
Great Stuff !!!
Just came to comment same expect he also plays cafe 1930 at the very beginning before rhapsody of fire! You’re a real fan like myself ! Just got to see him on his electric tour on 4/30/24 I got to meet him and get a picture with him and also watch soundcheck before his show it was epic!
I just saw him as well, on 5/10 in Glenside PA, outside Philadelphia ! An amazing show, to say the least !!!

@@gtrDan1963 that’s awesome bro! Glad to connect Al’s the best nobody can do it better
3:06 - 3:08. The so-called "Paul Gilbert lick" that Di Meola has been doing in the 70's before Paul Gilbert was even known. If it wasn't for Al Di Meola, rock players like Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, Micheal Batio, Rusty Cooley, and a host of other speed demons from the 80's wouldn't exist. Rock guitarists would still be doing primitive hammer-ons and pull-offs like Jimmy Page, with a couple parlor tricks like tapping and sweep-picking thrown in to make it less boring 😴
Nice medley before red moon. Significant part of Piazzolla's Cafe 1930 at the beginning.
Incrível 👏👏👏👏🥰🎵🎵🎶🎵🎶
Red Moon starts about 11:03
min.
🙏🏻❤️🎸
Don't forget to DUCK - It's MACHINE GUN AL !
The master speaks! Hush 🤫
good music
hypnose
nice. as usual.
what is the brand for his guitar ?
Ovation acoustic, PRS electric
0:36 Piazolla cafe 1930
... also, Al might be the only guitarist who gets a decent tone from an Ovation!
Nice, but crying out for some solos from the other musicians
...and crying out for silence in the audience...
