I still remember the first time we killed VanCleef, got out of Deadmines and gazed at the sun. It was the moment that I realized WoW was something special, won me as a player and kept me playing non stop until cataclysm. So many memories. And damn, it was almost 20 years ago. I was in college and now Im a married man with 2 kids! THANK you for reminding me my friend. Keep up the good work!

    Greetings, everyone!
A little later than planned, but welcome to the Lore of The Deadmines, where we will unravel the secrets of these tunnels and take on many underground battles.
And let's pause to contemplate: Did Edwin VanCleef truly deserve the fate that ultimately befell him? I'm eager to hear your insights about this fascinating character in the World of Azeroth, so please feel free to share your opinions in the comments below.
    Enjoy!

I think everyone would agree that VanCleef was wronged, but I don't think starting a terrorist organization is the right way to go about it.

I wholeheartedly believe he only wanted what was rightly owed to him and his fellow stone cutters. He maybe took a drastic, rash choice in turning to banditry but it also certainly got the noble's attention. In the end, I don't think he deserved what he got but he also didn't deserve the treatment he received after his loyalty to the Alliance.

Very excited for this one. The deadmines and the lore surrounding the defias and Edwin is still some of my favourite lore to this day. Blizzard really nailed it on their first go at a dungeon and it shows. Such a good build up of the defias throughout the starting zones only to culminate in such a fun dungeon.

Greetings Loremaster! The Deadmines was my first real adventure away from helping ordinary citizens of Azeroth across the lands. I still remember the thick air of the narrow and windy corridors of the mine filled with foes. Breaking into the final chamber the air suddenly felt much fresher and I needed to take a moment with my group to soak in the view and take a sip of water. I truly understood the vastness of Azeroth standing in there. Thank you, dear Loremaster for bringing back such an old memory. (absolutely amazing video as always!)

still remember my very first time getting the main quest for deadmines way back in '05, I had no idea what a dungeon was as i'd never run one and the quest said 5 players recommended. well i took that as a "suggestion" and went in alone, obviously i didn't get far but i'll always remember that feeling of well that was a really quick death i had. deadmines will always be my first and favorite dungeon.

Good video - but it's starts to drift away from lore and goes into boss strategy, for example, the smite fight. this isn't really lore. would be better to have just focused on defias brotherhood instead of going through the journey of an adventurer

    • @TheChroniclesofAzeroth
      @TheChroniclesofAzeroth  9 месяцев назад

Thanks for your feedback! While I agree that the focus of the video shifts more towards strategy for the boss figts, rather than delving into the lore, I found it a nice touch to include the well-known characters encountered during gameplay, along with snippets of their backstories. These elements explore their reasons for being in the dungeon and their significance in its overarching narrative. This approach is well received by the community, offering a nostalgic experience distinct from the typical dungeon walkthroughs commonly seen.

@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth for certain zones, later expansions revealed much more story that was unknown or unfinished when they were added. be it Vanilla or expansions
      for examples:
Darkshore - source of corruption was thought to be corrupted waters of Felwood. Cataclysm indirectly confirmed that source of corruption was jaw of Gul'dan, part of Skull of Gul'Dan artifact (we could find it during questing in vanilla as a red crystal)
Westfall - Defias story had multiple layers - in cataclysm, Legion and DF as human heritage quest and so on
also you can merge WOD/TBC zone storiesfor Outlands and start from WOD versions and continue as Outlands present
      and so on
      anyway decision is yours
I still think updated versions are more important than sticking in Vanilla

as a horde player, the big story was lost on me. moving out of high school the house of friends i rented REQUIRED everyone to have a WoW account. 10 of us lived there. i was lvl 20 or such, they told me of this place WAY over in alliance territory. i was not excited to run through STV and corpse hop on my warlock. they escorted me part of the way before i was burnt out and told them to go on with out me. on my way back i was mesmerized by the clifs, the trees, this gaping ravine with a river flowing through it far below....
I noticed fish, they appeared as skulls to me.... what level was this zone i wondered, what would i find once i started to explore here? how long it would take me to level up - JUST THEN the fucking fish teleported infront of my face and one shot me! i lay dead, yet again, to run back to my corpse.....
i logged off for the night.

Once during the Alliance campaign to retrieve Sir Anduin Lothar, during his search for the Tome of Divinity. And once during the Orc campaign to neutralize Griselda; Blackhand's daughter, along with Turok's associated ogres.

It was included in my initial script, but due to the unavailability of suitable recordings for those events and the difficulty of integrating it smoothly into the script's flow, I choose not to use it, as to prevent deviating too far from the overall progression of the story.

I cannot wait to dive deeper into the lore of some of my favorite Vanilla Wow dungeons!
Dungeon design back then was so massive, had so much depth that it’s going to be exciting to see this channel make videos about Maraudon, Blackfathom, Dire Maul, Blackrock Depths, Blackrock Spire, Scarlet Monastery, etc.
I love listening to these episodes like I do my audiobooks!! ❤

It's heartwarming to read your enthusiasm! I'm excited as you are to delve into those massive places filled with Lore.
P.S. there are dungeons in Orgrimmar and The Barrens that should be addressed sooner than later.
