Salutations, adventurers of Azeroth! Today we delve into the haunted depths of Shadowfang Keep, a place shrouded in mystery and dark history. The writing of this was so detailed and descriptive 🖤 It really made me notice how my own vocabulary has regressed during the age of the internet. Amazing work sir 🖤
Fantastic video as always! The spookiest part of this dungeon isn’t Arugal nor his Worgen, but the constant silencing effects of the ghosts. Because in Shadowfang Keep, no one can hear you scream. Cheers!
I love the detailing you give to the adventurers’ journey, you could just say “they went here and killed him and then killed him and then etc etc etc” but you give them personality and strategy, keeping the viewer entertained through the walk of the dungeon. Its excellent!
My favorite dungeon in vanilla. I remember back then when I did it the first time, me and my friend got into a party with some nice people and we were all traveling to SFK from different parts of Azeroth. Us two from Stormwind, a dwarf priest we picked up in Loch Modan, a warrior in Hillsbrad and a hunter that came all the way from Kalimdor. And then we all traveled together by foot because nobody had any flight points :D. It truly felt like an epic globetrotting adventure, even just the journey there. And we had no idea what awaited us in SFK, none of us had been there before. We were all so excited. Then the dungeon was awesome, we wiped once or twice but we got the hang of it. I got the blue dagger for my rogue! Still to this day one of my favorite memories in gaming.
This is what I come here for to read! Your journey through the Eastern Kingdoms with your friends is already an adventure of itself. All the places you get to see, some beautiful, some dangerous. And you keep wondering, how much more is there to do in all these places! Thanks for sharing, it really took me back in time as well :)
Best video so far. Love the nostalgic feel. Please keep looking to the less explored nooks and crannies of Azeroth. The “exploration” of the less-seen are the best!
You're absolutely right - while Azeroth continues to expand and evolve, there's a unique charm in revisiting and exploring its less-traveled corners. It's these hidden gems that often hold the most intriguing stories and secrets!
After exploring The Deadmines and Ragefire Chasm, I've worked hard to find a balance in my storytelling. This includes each boss fight, detailing their abilities and the loot they offer, but also explaining their unique stories and roles within the world of Azeroth. This adds a few layers of information onto the script and final product, but it works out and the story is well received :) thanks for joining me once more!
Wonderfully told. I was completely emerged into this story, as if I were one of the adventures on this mysterious quest. Your description of the armor worn by the warrior character was so descriptive that I felt as if i was wearing the armor myself; marching forward into the dungeon and playing the role of the protector of my team. I truly enjoyed listening and watching the video.
It's fantastic to hear that you felt so immersed in the story. In the vast and diverse world of Azeroth, everyone, whether they're a steadfast tank, a vigilant healer, part of the Horde or the Alliance, gnome or undead, experiences their own unique journey. My goal is to bring those varied and rich memories to life, capturing the essence of these adventures from many points of view. It's about reliving those moments together, celebrating both our differences and our shared love for this incredible universe. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the video and felt a part of this story. Looking forward to sharing more adventures with you!
I love how your voice actually sounds like the in-game narrator who walks you through your starting zone when you start a new character. Whenever I get to a new zone I check and see if you have a vid on it so that I can listen to the lore as I go :)
My goal is to make each video a memorable journey into the rich lore of Azeroth, brought to life through the wisdom and insight of a loremaster dedicated to unveiling the wonders of this ever-evolving world! The concept began with the classic starting zones and we are now branching out to all other areas of Azeroth, including dungeons, notable events, and quests. While this broadened scope requires time, I am committed to thoroughly addressing and covering each topic, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of the World of Warcraft. So be sure to check back regularly to see if the zone you're currently exploring has been featured in a new video! :)
Shadowfang Keep and Wailing Caverns, as well as The Deadmines and Blackfathom Deeps are monuments to our collective nostalgia and hold echoes of our earliest ventures!
I am not very into Warcraft, neither lore or games, but man your storytelling warrants a way heftier sub count than your current one. Colour me impressed, and count my name on your list of subscribers! I guess I'm becoming a Warcraft lore buff.
Thanks for the kind words! To be fair and transparent, the narration you hear is actually a custom made AI voice from Elevenlabs :) Hopefully this does not break your immersion.
Very nice addition to the overal story of both Arugal and the far reaching influence of the Lich King! Weaving expansions together like that really makes the world feel alive and evolving with your own progression through Azeroth!

Very fascinating indeed! The scale of the Scourge's threat was immense, and each region had its own way of dealing with it. The story of Arugal is one of desperate times and unintended consequences. The world of Azeroth is filled with these captivating tales!
The Shadowfang The Keep is an enigmatic location enshrined in legends. Investigating the eerie corridors and deciphering its legend is akin to undertaking a somber journey through the annals of time. This is an undeniably eerie expedition due to the supernatural beings, vengeful spirits, and ominous secrets that reside within its confines. Are you prepared to explore its mysteries further? 💼🔮🕯

Absolutely loveeee this dungeon and this video! Funny how when playing, i never realized how long it really is. lol It's just a shame that nowadays most players like to just speed run through these dungeons, so it's hard to pick up on all the details in many of them.
Shadowfang Keep has just the right balance, not too long and not too many bosses! It's quite perfect in my opinion. Thankfully, there are still those, like yourself, who appreciate the rich history and hidden details in these often overlooked or rushed-through places!
An interesting suggestion. I have strived to maintain the immersion in the story being told, which is why I generally avoid overlaying in-game footage with still imagery or other techniques. Displaying items from each encounter would require changing this format. I'm curious to hear how you would like to see this being implemented!
I’m not sure if this would be possible, but if you could show the “adventurers” occasionally with the item equipped that might work, for some items at least.
I’m not sure if this would be possible, but if you could show the “adventurers” occasionally with the item equipped that might work, for some items at least.
Very much so, that could definitely work! In my strive to keep growing and improving the content, I am already exploring ways to get the entirety of the group on the footage, but this has since been a difficult process. We're getting there though, and when that happens, we can also showcase the items obtained :)
You would think there would be some type of interactive options available for RUclips creators to add in for optional overlays. Has there been no innovation since 2005? Never noticed it until just now but as a medieval enthusiast I just recognized if this is castles in real life it’s defenses would be almost impregnable… lol
Very true, that narrow bridge and the steep drop on either side would make it a formidable fortress to breach. The first waves of invaders would indeed have a tough time getting across safely!

Very good video essay... sadly, nowadays it would be more like "Tank rushes in, pulls half the dungeon and all others spam AoE.. and done" I miss these days when group play was still that and not some shooter children rushing everything so they can sit at max level whining that there is "nothing to do" Yes.. Ah, the nostalgia of the old days! There was a time when forming a group in Orgrimmar or Stormwind was an adventure in itself, long before the days of automated group finders. And the journey to the dungeon's location was an integral part of the experience, setting the stage for the adventure ahead. Times have indeed changed, and with them, the pace and style of gameplay. While the convenience of modern features is great, it's also important to reminisce about the slower, more communal aspects of the past that brought a different kind of satisfaction and sense of achievement.

I still LOVE the lore and the aesthetic of the game but it’s so sad for me that it’s an mmorpg, I couldn’t care less about other people in my immersion.
