I work the overnight shift and sip a Nos for 3 hours and it helps keep me up. Been doing it for over a decade now and my blood pressure is usually on the low side. No issues with sleep, anxiety or bloodwork. No one is supposed to drink 4 to 8 of these drinks every day and you’re definitely not supposed to pound one after another. Excess anything is bad for you.
I did something similar a couple years ago. Where I was slamming 2 red bulls before my shift one at first break and one at lunch. Within about 2 weeks I was shaking so bad that couldn't hold my tools steady. I couldn't imagine doing this every day for years.
@@bobbyz9052 you do you boo, it really is person to person, body weight and genetics play a big role on how these things effect each person. For myself, I haven't drank a carbonated drink of any kind for over 7 years and I feel amazing. Even a sip now and I feel sick to my stomach. It's not the caffeine that I'm against it's all the other crap they put in those drinks.
Agree with you 100%. The one thing I often see overlooked as well (besides what you mentioned) is water consumption. So if someone’s drinking 2-3 energy drinks a day and the rest of what they’re drinking is soda, it’s probably not going to go very well.
I used to consume a lot of caffeine and other stimulants on a daily basis. At least 750mg+ for 5 days a week. The biggest thing I noticed was anxiety and feeling scared. Like I was always in my fight or flight mode. I completely cut out the preworkout stimulants and reduced caffeine to between 40-80mg per day. Feel so much better for it!
Yeaa for four months I was taking preworkout in the afternoon plus three cups of coffee in the morning and was pretty cranked and never really felt like I could relax. Stopped the pre and backed off the morning caffeine. I now won't have caffeine after 11am or so and life has improved! And honestly workouts have not suffered. I swear it's just an adrenaline thing as a result of caffeine as far as perceived workout performance. Highly recommend dropping the pre and caffeine for a while and see if your life improves even if you think you're fine.
@@PriusTurbo Yeah that's what I did dude I completely dropped the preworkouts. For the first week or two my gym performance suffered but now I don't miss them. I still drink a few cups of tea/coffee a day but I've limited this to like, 4 max per day now and I don't take any caffeine after 7pm. I feel so much better for it!
@@PriusTurbo too much caffeine will absolutely nuke your Central nervous responses. Making workouts suffer unless you're cranked off 300mg of caffeine before working out. I quit taking pwo all together and just drink protein shake with 6oz of water before I go, take a 3g scoop of beta alanine and head for the gym. Pumps are fine, energy is fine.
Hey mind telling me what you did for withdrawals. I withdrawled off opiates multiple times and had an easier te quitting that than caffeine. The headaches from caffeine withdrawal are no joke
"You're husband died of sticky blood. The scientific term is a bubble-yum heart pop. It was probably the energy drinks. Welp, see ya later." - What the doctor said, seriously I'm not lying
I’m 43, and I am already reducing my stimulant intake, so I think it’s important for sure. Taking breaks and complete days off can help improve the response but I understand it’s easier said than done sometimes. Great topic Derek, one that I have taken more seriously in the last year. Thank you bruh! Have a great day!
As a tip, the halflife of caffeine is about 6 hours. If you stop having stuff that has caffeine after say 12 in the afternoon, you'll get a deeper sleep at night and with that more energy the next day.
@@El_Bellota This is very helpful, thank you and something I’m beginning to utilize at least four days a week and even with that have noticed a difference. A quality sleep aid can also improve the feeling of the stimulants the next day for me, however only on occasion as I don’t want to become dependent on sleep aids either…
Pretty much, don't over consume anything. Its not about the energy drinks so much as the mass consumption. If he ate 20 cheeseburgers a day for years, this would be a similar video under different circumstances.
Seems like the dad has an underlying coagulopathy and concomitantly could have been dehydrated and hypercoagulable. As an anesthesiology resident and critical care doctor, there is no reason that blood viscosity would be that altered by any 'energy drinks' unless they have some other SIGNIFICANT underlying risk factors. Stop the fear mongering
I've been seeing a lot of fertility doctors advising people to cut back their caffeine too. If you know, is that because it constricts the blood vessels and impairs sexual performance, or is there something else going on here?
A “heart attack” is technically due to plaque build up in your coronary arteries (the main arteries in your heart). Also called a STEMI. This is mainly due to either lifestyle choices (diet/obesity) or some other genetic predisposition. So this cause of death was a STEMI and then a cardiac arrest due to a heart attack, but the most likely cause of death was lifestyle…… not Red Bull. P.S I am a RN who worked in a cardiac ICU for 5 years and am currently in CRNA school. Hope this family finds peace. Amen
My adopted father drank 2 pots of coffee a day for most of his 72 years His heart was fine when he passed away… Died from ingesting e-coli in the hospital after colon surgery. If I drink 2 cups of coffee I start sweating and get the shakes. Point being it depends on the person!!
Maybe, but it's kind of like saying "my auntie smoked for 50 years and lived to be 95", still doesn't mean it's good for you and will likely have some impact.
@@RELEONSK …point taken. He certainly tended to over react and was a bit of a drama queen but there were hundreds of times I’ve seen him sleeping in his chair with a cup of coffee resting on the arm of said chair. Hard to run that experiment though!😂. Also tolerance is the first step to addiction 😱😜
But he didn't start drinking two pots a day. You build up a tolerance. I've been driving a truck since 99. I'm 46 I could drink a pot of coffee and then go to bed.
@@Mr_Clean he was a transport driver all his life that also worked swing shifts. I’m sure that’s where he picked up the habit. But you have to be getting something from it to want to get to the point where you build tolerance. If I drink too much coffee I feel jittery and crappy. I have zero interest in building tolerance. That’s the difference that matters…
Disagree your body shows that you can’t tolerate it and it’s a protective mechanism though not every body does that just like a threshold to stress, I for one feel the side effects of heavy stress and become kinda Ill whereas my dad was able to work didn’t feel anything for years and at some point he just dropped due to being burned out and had a heart attack. Now he knows he needs to be more careful even if his body shows no signs.
Am almost certain I can guess where the truth in that girl's story lies, and what are the omissions. Her and her family always hated how many energy drinks her dad had, because they always heard 'how bad it is for you'. So when this heart attack happened, rather than the Dr being the first to bring it up, they probably mentioned to the doctor, 'He drank a lot of energy drinks, could that have contributed to the thick blood?' to which the doctor would've given some answer about there being a possible link between energy drinks and blood issues, etc. The family are trying to make sense of it all, and so they will latch onto anything that helps them have a reason why it happened, so they don't have to face the randomness of the universe and the bad luck of genetics.
@@bustedknuckles6051 Yeah "sticky" blood caused by caffeine and b vitamins... There's no way this could be related to the recent explosion of heart attacks, inflammation, and blood clots in otherwise healthy populations.
Finding it VERY hard to believe the FIRST question a doctor is going to ask after a cardiac episode is "Does he drink energy drinks?". Maybe the uber high consumption of energy drinks was a major factor in his cardiac episode, but that's not the first question a doctor is going to ask. RIP to the dude...46 is way too young.
Most health authorities state that up to 400 mg of caffeine a day is safe for the general population and is ergogenic in that amount. We've all had those days, though, when we had too much and our hearts were racing, so it's easy to see how it could be a tipping point.
@@randybobandy9828 I have 16 ounces of brewed coffee in the morning and probably 24 ounces of iced tea throughout the day, so I'm guessing I'm somewhere between 300 and 400 mg also.
You should do a video on Alexander Karelin, one of the most dominant athletes of all time. He was a Greco Roman Wrestler that competed in 130 kg (285lb) division. Many people say he was juiced, but some say that he was just a freak of nature. What do you think?

I have reduced my energy drink count from 5 a day to 1 every few weeks. I’m convinced that I’ve been making a good decision by quitting them altogether. As far as coffee goes, I plan on drinking it black and cold brewed, then reducing my intake of coffee every week
@Otherwise Healthy well if its small ones its 400mgs of caffeine which isnt thaaaaat bad especially when its spaced out over the whole day. But I think thats actually the amount they say is the most you can take in a day without completly fucking yourself. That said I dont think Ive every taken that much in a day. The most ive done very rarely was double scoop pre workout which was 300mg in one go but ive stopped that because I was never able to really sleep the night i did that. I think id only do it again for a competion or something important I want to excell at. Right now I will take a maximum of 80mgs a day. And not every day
@A. H. same here. Used to drink a 300mg bang/reign every morning for about a year straight. Then cut down to 1 cup of coffee every morning. Eventually I would just drink a 140mg monster every other week. Now I can go days without caffeine
I remember drinking the monster energy ultra drinks. One time i had the bright idea to drink one before training. I went on and did high volume training as usual and what happened during some simple tricep extensions was that i felt my heart beating in my throat and skipping. Stopped immediatly and sat down to wait it out and call it a day.
Gotta go eat immediately lol. Usually does the trick from my experience. I’ve seen that happen with people before at the gym and a little after they eat, they are fine. Maybe not your issue, but people shouldn’t be on stimulants without food in their stomach lol
When i was in the army (my country has mandatory miltary service) i started drinking energy drinks to stay awake during the night guard shifts youre forced to do. Keep in mind that i never used to drink them or much caffeine before. After about of month of drinking them once a day, would drink 1 can of monster, i started getting very noticeable heart palpatations and my breathing would feel weird at times. Never touched them again after that. I also went to a cardiologist just to be safe and all tests came back normal and it never happened again since i stopped (was 3 years ago).
Oh yeah heart palpitations are SCARY a f. A couple times I got irregular heartbeat so bad that my heart would stop for a second and then beat 5 times in 2 seconds I felt like I was gonna pass out omg , rushed to hospital , SO SCARY
Had the same thing but after drinking coffee. I found out that a lot of people on the globe has caffeine intolerance (depends on the region of the world). It's a problem with digestion that magnifies the effect of caffeine on your endocrine system. That leads to too much adrenaline and symptoms like jitteriness and insomnia. I constantly had the feeling that I would get a heart or epilepsy attack.
I have real doubts that at the ER the first thing a doctor will ask about a patient that just died from a heart attack or cardiac arrest (whatever the etiology may be) is if the patient drank a lot of energy drinks. Especially when considering that the supposed underlying cause that lead to this was "really viscous (thick) blood". The studies that do show an increase in blood thickness due to energy drinks are very few, and the connection between the two is weak at best. The predominant causes behind viscous blood are elevations in RBCs / WBCs / Platelets / some kind of Coagulopathy / etc. - all of which energy drinks have very little (if any) influence on, AND DEFINITELY CANNOT cause such extremely viscous blood as described by her. The only thing that might raise a suspicion is that energy drinks may result in increased tendency of platelets aggregation, but I'd say that this effect is weak, and is a really big stretch from this and the number one cause you'd suspect behind death of this man. Quite frankly, the whole story sounds completely farfetched and made-up. Rip to the father (if he is indeed dead), but I wouldn't bet my money on the story.
my lecturer once said while opening up a class, 'don't drink soda, if you do you will die'. The whole class went confused. Then my lecturer continued saying 'there's a local nurse nearby our university that drinks a can of coke daily, died', that's it. And during the whole class, my friends and i were thinking, did the nurse died because of over consuming soda, or it was some other cause.
Also you have to count in caffeine from other sources like sodas and coffee. I remember someone posted an article of something similar about dying from redbull and when I read through it turns out this person had 8 cups of coffee and then later in the day had 3 red bulls and all the blame went to the red bull, not the fact that he consumed close to 1g of caffeine.
@twenti toost I used to drink over 10 cups On a hot day at work and 2-3 at home when I got back it was the most productive my life has ever been and I can’t find that energy anywhere else since I’ve stopped drinking caffeine now.
I’m 25. I’ve had an energy drink/ pre workout almost every day since I was about 16. I have blood pressure issues now that I’m actively working on keeping under control. I had a resting blood pressure of 170, massive headaches, and there would be times where I couldn’t see. With doc supervision I cut out energy drinks and BP returned to normal ina few weeks. I still have coffee occasionally for a pick-me-up with no real escalation to my BP. I will never touch an energy drink again
Energy drinks shouldn't be legal Bro. I seriously feel cocaine is a safer alternative to energy drinks. If blow isn't legal, energy drinks shouldn't be either. At some point we should probably step in. I get people should have liberty to ruin themselves if they choose, but kids drink these stupid things.
Personally I feel like it's a bit similar to smoking. Not every smoker gets lung cancer, but it increases the risks and the risks need to be talked about. Same with energy drinks, it increases risks (maybe not as much as smoking, but still) and those risks need to be talked about. And talked about enough so that people understand the risks of going overboard.
It's always weird to me when someone looks at a case where someone has worked a hard job for decades that destroyed their body, had a rough life, never considered their diet, never got enough sleep, never had a long enough rest to get rid of the chronic cns fatigue. That person dies and it's always "so unexpected" and often attributed to some random habit they had. What helps people is having knowledge, not just yelling at them to stop drinking something when the rest of their life is shit and they feel like that drink is all that keeps them going.
Tbh I think in most of these cases where caffeine/energy drinks are blamed it's more often actually caused by a generally shitty diet and lifestyle that's really to blame. Except for acute poisoning from huge doses of course.
Caffeine is also a diruetic. If you drink energy drinks instead of water. Yea it's absolutely gonna fuck up your heart, probably not because of the caffeine but because you're dehydrated
I'm 37 and have been consuming 1 or 2 energy drinks per day + a couple waters with caffeine Mio, + another caffeine/taurine powdered water mix, + a stim-junkie preworkout 3-4 times a week. For almost 2 decades. My blood pressure is 120/70 and resting heart rate is low 50-60s. Platelet labwork in the green. Every body is different. Period.
Yup...we also don't know if this guy even died from energy drinks.. we don't know what else he took or if he actually was in good shape. His daughter is using correlation as causation.
Doesn't seem to excessive from what you shared, there are people out there drinking 6+ energy drinks a day plus whatever else which is when it starts getting to the extreme.
This is why people should also be careful with pre-workout. One time I was having a great, heavy squat leg day, I felt so invisible that I decided to drink another scoop of pre-workout which was the worst feeling I've had in my life. I felt like I was on the verge of having a heart attack, and stroke. My heart was beating out of control, my hands were curling up and cramping, sweating profusely, I became dizzy and drowsy on the edge of fainting. Luckily I sat down, drank loads of water and got back to normal luckily. Now I just ingest 400mg of caffeine from all sources in a day, but that's my limit. I learned my lesson, dont abuse caffeine it can have deadly side effects. For reference I'm a 6'3'' 185lb hybrid athlete, and took 2 scoops of 350mg pre-workout.
I´m an expatriate to Mexico (Oaxaca, Mexico). The same brands of energy drinks here like Monster etc. are very expensive here and they contain about half the amount of caffeine in them. I thought Mexico was less lenient on stuff like that but it´s actually more strict. Many supplements high in caffeine are not available here. You can´t get any Yeah Buddy supplements here. Steroids are no legal here either. Those days are long gone. With that said, Oaxaca is in Southern Mexico. Those states along the border, I don´t know what you can get your hands on in those states.
This is the comment I was looking for! Damn! I didn't think it was really possible and that there was some type of foul play involved. This just makes me sad. RIP to the Godfather.
Having some insight into how hospitals work, the family probably mentioned the energy drink consumption to the nurse in normal conversation/ passing, and then the nurse probably mentioned that to the doctor and that could have been what prompted the doctor to ask the family.
My advice to everyone is to keep your caffeine intake at a maximum of 300 mg a day and Don't drink any energy drink with sugar in it It's all about not over consuming not the drink itself.
I think it can be useful if you limit use to when needed, like once or twice a week if you have particularly hard workout days, or just days where you really feel too fucked for the gym. This way you reap the benefits without desensitisation, little to no downregulation of dopamine and less dysregulation of adenosine levels
@@KokeBeast23 You can’t really compare cigarettes and alcohol to caffeine. Nicotine and alcohol withdrawal is oftentimes physically and emotionally devastating, and caffeine withdrawal is at worst a mild headache/irritability/fatigue. Also, many people depend on alcohol to sustain a certain desirable personality type that they couldn’t pull off sober.
I work as an ER nurse. I’ve seen it a few times, especially in the younger generation. They drink energy drinks like water and then they are wondering why they feel like their heart is thumping out of their chest.
Like you said, I find it highly unlikely or at least odd, that the first first thing the Dr asks is "did he drink alot of energy drinks". This guy likely had many other factors going on. Family probably trying to sue Red Bull.

I decided just last Sunday that I needed to take a break from caffeine. I was having 3 cups of coffee in the morning and 2 12 oz red bulls every day. Sometimes even drinking sodas or tea. It got to a point that caffeine had no effect on me to the point that I could pound a red bull right before bed and still sleep a full 8 hours. The first 3-4 days I had massive headaches and extreme fatigue around 3-4 pm. It was so bad that I’d pass out on the couch even though I was getting plenty of sleep at night. After the 4th day I started having kidney pain and pissing like crazy. I went from sleeping through the night to waking up 4-6 times a night. I honestly thought maybe I had a kidney or bladder infection but after 3 days it disappeared. I’ve noticed now that I’m no longer crashing through the day. Sometimes I would get really tired on my morning commute but now I’m wide awake. After this little experience I don’t think I’ll ever go back to that routine. Sure I’ll have a coffee every once in while but definitely going to using caffeine in moderation.
This is something I noticed too when I used to have weeks where I slept around 3-4 hours and I drank 3-5 energy drinks a day, after going back to my normal 0-2 energy drinks a day and sleeping 5-6 hours, the first few days were horrible, the headaches and weird pains sometimes made me almost pass out every few hours and it was so hard to focus on anything.
One of my good mates dad died from heart faliure. He was 46 years old and was mid built. When he was still a youngling he did copious amount of cocain so already that was a factor in his weak heart. He was a father to us all so his sudden passin really shook us. Took an oath not to fuckin touch these "Energy Drinks".( Now im not fear mongering Im just cutting high sugar drinks. I have cut off soda and I can live without it. Rooibos is really the shit for me now.)

We've learned over the last 2 years that there are so many things that cause heart attacks - energy drinks, soccer, football, weight lifting, walking, working in the garden, sunshine - that we had no idea before were a problem. What we DO know is that there is one thing that had NOTHING to do with heart attacks.
Quit energy drinks and coffee in my mid twenties. I was having heart, cognitive/mood and sleep issues. In my early thirties now and green tea is all I need, with a lil lions mane. I now sustain energy with a calm focus and have overall benefited immensely from decreasing my caffeine consumption.
Almost 30 and I understand it's time to cut back on my stimulant usage. I've had EKGs already and everything checked out. My doctor was concerned with my family history of heart disease and my ongoing medical issues and was able to get me a portable EKG for a week. I was the youngest person there by about 40 years. And yes I'm in Canada too.
It is idiotic. Multiple people I know of in my small circle had blood clots and heart attacks, various cardiovascular problems in the past year. Online friends I have have similar stories. Hmmm, I wonder why? It isn’t even worth mentioning it if you haven’t figured it out yet
My dad had a heart attack and he never drank an energy drink. The doctor told him it was due to lack of sleep and lack of exercise. I hate how people these days ignore the lifestyle aspect of it and go directly to one specific food or drink that is "killing" you.
Monster drinker here. Can confirm energy drinks do infact make blood thicker. I drink the lo-carb (2 a day) and my blood is THICK. Cardio and plenty of water usually fixes the problem. However, if I slack on either for prolonged period of time I do experience a plethora of problems. Lightheadedness, numbness on extremities, etc. You do notice problems over time. I do also do a "monster fast" every so often as well. If I had to guess why the problems happen, it's the taurine. Didn't have any of these problems when I was a coffee drinker. I know it's bad for me and yata yata but damn do energy drinks taste good. I don't need the energy trust me, but seriously, energy drinks are delicious. Thought I'd share for the nay sayers.

I've cut back from caffeine alot since I've aged closer to 30 I cut down to 1 can in the mornings monday-friday and a preworkout before lifting. Would the amount of water you drink in a day correlate with this? I’d assume the viscosity of his blood wouldn’t have been such if he was hydrated. I’d also assume that how fast you flush caffeine from your system would correlate to the amount of water you consume in a day.
Though I do think energy drinks and similar intakes should be managed like anything else and one the fitness scene tends to be more vulnerable to (pre-workout and often strong reliance on caffeine deep into a cut.) I do suspect there may also have been a bias and a semi-miscommunication just due to how the 'doctors jumped to the red bull conclusion'. It's like my mum asking doctors if her smoking caused my grandmother's breastcancer and she wasn't told no, so to this day 'it's the smoking that caused it, the doctors said so!' even though almost all her aunts have suffered from breast cancer despite the majority being non-smokers. (And this comes up often since I do get any free screening the government allows.)
Energy drinks are very dehydrating. At the same time they have a lot of caffeine. I suspect that it influenced K Samuels incident. Given that he said he hardly slept and often had a Red bull next to him. I no longer drink them often now. My main reason was a "blank state of mind" on the second to third day after drinking
There is an elephant in this poor woman's room, a question that didn't get asked as to why her loved one's blood might be clotting so badly, so quickly. I’ve been seeing a cardiologist since high school. Let me tell you this. A lot of people have minor cardiac issues and won’t find out until middle age. How many people have an EKG before age 40? You could have a very minor structural or electrical issue. When you are young and healthy, it’s nothing at all. But as you get older, high blood pressure, plaque buildup, etc. could cause it to become a problem. Just keep that in mind. You don’t always know what you don’t know. Treat your heart well. The doctors were shocked when I told them that I only consume alcohol maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Finally got the motivation to do something about my health and depression and cleaned up my diet and started lifting and getting more sleep. In one month after cutting sugar and carbs and working out and sleeping I dropped 20 lbs and my big hard pot belly is shrinking visibly DAY BY DAY! Bottom line everything in our diet is trash redbull and sugar and excessive carbs is habit forming and it's easy to fall into habits like this when you're depressed and tired and stressed but you can change it. I wouldn't be surprised to find out this guy lived similar to me. And if you read this and any of it hit home make the change. You can do it. Sincerely Zeke

Without knowing anything else about the guy, his overall health, diet, genetics, etc, it’s impossible to say if the energy drinks even contributed to his death.
To the average person if someone is in good shape it just means they're not fat... So right from the get go when someone says "he/she was in good shape" I'm always a little skeptical. We live in a world where ppl 40lbs+ overweight will say "my doctor says I'm in perfect health". So there's that. Add in most ppl simply don't drink enough water and are chronically dehydrated plus drinking 2-4 energy drinks a day. You can see the problem
I don't know the specifics, but I had two friends hospitalized and both were told by the doctors it was primarily because of their excessive energy drink consumption. One used to drink 2-3 a day and also used pre work throughout the day to stay awake during class, he had a crazy heart issue and took a ride in an ambulance at the age of 23! The other was a gentleman in his 40's who would drink 4-8 energy drinks a day and they apparently removed a portion of his lower intestine for some reason. Dude was out of work for like 8 months....

This happened to a co-worker who dropped from a heart attack mid sentence with a customer. Doa at 38. He would mix red bull with 5 hour energy. He just did too much every day for too long.
She definitely said all of this to the doctor which made the doctor say it was energy drinks cause the guy already died and it really doesn't matter to figure it out at that point. She said, "he would buy those little 4 packs of redbull and drink all of them" which is a little more than 32 oz of redbull which, realistically, is just 2 of the 16 oz cans over hours in a car ride... really not a big deal.....
4 of those a day is definitely way too much. Just two of them is the max recommended caffeine intake. Of course, if he also drank all of those in 2 hours time instead of 12 hours then it is 5x worse.
@@Leonhart_93 no, no, and no. 4 of the 8.4oz Redbull cans is 320mg of caffeine. That's pretty standard for a pre-workout supplement that you chug down in a couple minutes, spread out over drinking 4 cans is nothing crazy at all for someone who drinks caffeine even a little bit.
@@darron614 Standard for an instant dose? I won't believe that for a moment. It's the max recommended dose for a whole day, meaning over at least 12h. The pre-workout companies put in that much just because it's not illegal, but that's reckless. As a consumer it's my job to defend myself from their bullshit reckless marketing. I would never consume that much at once, ever.
@@Leonhart_93 okay you can use your personal incredulity as evidence and I'll use science. You can look up studies or even look up how much caffeine is in a large Starbucks drink.

I believe one of the biggest problems is when people with a mostly sedentary lifestyle slam energy drinks and don't sleep enough. One reason why i think energy drinks like G fuel, that are specifically marketed towards gamers, are incredibly dangerous.
I'm curious if the same can be assumed about preworkouts, some of them have 150-300mgs of caffeine, sometimes more + a bundle of other components. I have relied heavily in the past on sugar free energy drinks and this vid has made me think twice. Cheers Derek

One thing to note here also is that the energy drink used in the study was sugar free, whereas the energy drink that her dad supposedly died from was not mentioned to be sugar free or not. A 4-pack redbull contains >100g of sugar. High sugar intake -> high glucose spikes/levels -> elevated blood preasure. Same with caffeine, high bloodpreasure spikes. Not to mention if he was american then there also might be an unhealthy relationship with fast food (>3 times a week)

Everything in moderation. Energy drinks are stimulants/drugs (caffeine). With any stimulus / drug there are side-effects - even the simplest of drugs like caffeine. Pros and cons.
one a day vs 4-8. Also I doubt anyone is just going in for regular heart checkups and liver function tests and like this study showed a endothelial function test pre-starting regular consumption of energy drinks and have something to compare 17 years of once a day energy drinks. So if you did have a smaller issue like high blood pressure you would shrug it off as oh I did X and thats why definitely not the energy drink. How would you know if after 17 years of this that your arteries could be weaker than normal? like your story is just anecdotal and nothing to base off of. Oh well I did a single for 17 years (over 6000 cans) and had no issues (that you know of)
I've been cutting out energy drinks as much as I could the past year. Initially I drank energy drinks because coffee I felt had an adverse effect on me but since my A1C was getting to a problematic level, I mostly drank sugar free red bull or monster. But from time to time I was getting that tingling feeling in the fingers and legs so I severely limited my intake. I do have energy issues so not having coffee and not having energy drinks and not having sugary foods in the mornings gets me sleepy during the day.
You’re heading towards diabetes my man. Cut out all sugar and sweet foods, minimize your carb intake and do some fasting. Even better if you look into keto-type diets to become fat adapted. If your blood sugar is crashing that hard you’re in a dangerous place.

P.S

I had shaking hands and nausia from 1 redbull I cant even imagine what 2 scoops of pre would do to me.
400mg is still insane tbh..

Oh we can get anything you can imagine up north... I like it, but my family is from Sinaloa. I guess you can get things anywhere

Having some insight into how hospitals work, the family probably mentioned the energy drink consumption to the nurse in normal conversation/ passing, and then the nurse probably mentioned that to the doctor and that could have been what prompted the doctor to ask the family.
My advice to everyone is to keep your caffeine intake at a maximum of 300 mg a day and Don't drink any energy drink with sugar in it

I think it can be useful if you limit use to when needed, like once or twice a week if you have particularly hard workout days, or just days where you really feel too fucked for the gym. This way you reap the benefits without desensitisation, little to no downregulation of dopamine and less dysregulation of adenosine levels

3:15 ish well energy drinks are recreational drugs. I think they easily meet the standards of that definition.
Everyone knows that energy drinks have to be diluted with vodka.

However, if I slack on either for prolonged period of time I do experience a plethora of problems. Lightheadedness, numbness on extremities, etc.
You do notice problems over time. I do also do a "monster fast" every so often as well. If I had to guess why the problems happen, it's the taurine. Would the amount of water you drink in a day correlate with this? I’d assume the viscosity of his blood wouldn’t have been such if he was hydrated. I’d also assume that how fast you flush caffeine from your system would correlate to the amount of water you consume in a day.
Though I do think energy drinks and similar intakes should be managed like anything else and one the fitness scene tends to be more vulnerable to (pre-workout and often strong reliance on caffeine deep into a cut.)
I do suspect there may also have been a bias and a semi-miscommunication just due to how the 'doctors jumped to the red bull conclusion'.
I wonder if they would be so quick to assume it had anything to do with the vaccine??
Energy drinks are very dehydrating. At the same time they have a lot of caffeine. I suspect that it influenced K Samuels incident. Given that he said he hardly slept and often had a Red bull next to him.
I no longer drink them often now. My main reason was a "blank state of mind" on the second to third day after drinking
He had a red bull every show
You need something hydrating during exercise, sports drinks exist for a reason though 99% are too sugary and don't have enough electrolytes.

I’ve been seeing a cardiologist since high school. Let me tell you this. A lot of people have minor cardiac issues and won’t find out until middle age. How many people have an EKG before age 40? Sadly I think this has nothing to do with energy drinks, I know someone this happened to exact same scenario (same age and everything) never touched energy drinks.
I have been drinking at least 2 16oz redbulls a day for the past 5 years. It became a habit when I was working nights and my children were diagnosed with autism and I was getting terrible sleep every night for 5 years. On top of a shitty diet and not nearly enough exercise. I recently found out I had high blood pressure and a fatty liver at 30 years old. The doctors were shocked when I told them that I only consume alcohol maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Everything in moderation. Energy drinks are stimulants/drugs (caffeine). With any stimulus / drug there are side-effects - even the simplest of drugs like caffeine. Pros and cons.
@@anonypersona3189 its more so the other ingredients caffeine is okay to consume unless its a really large amount
one a day vs 4-8.
It’s called poor diet.
You’re heading towards diabetes my man. Cut out all sugar and sweet foods, minimize your carb intake and do some fasting. Even better if you look into keto-type diets to become fat adapted. If your blood sugar is crashing that hard you’re in a dangerous place.
