Also, I think its important to point out if wether the person is in really bad health or in relatively good health. I have a short story about caffeine.
    I am a tank soldier and last year was on an exercise with my crew, and we were tasked to scout out an area for 2 days. Well it ended up being 4 days with no brake. Since we were alone and did not get a replacement for our posts, we had a problem. I solved my problem by overdosing on 200 mg caffeine pills. In 3 days I took like 12 and drank 6-8 energy drinks, I can't remember.
    I didn't even realized that 3 days have passed. But on the last day I forgot to take more pills, so I just shut off once we stood still for longer than 5 minutes. 8 hours later I woke up at my gunner station, my commander let me sleep since I have given him more time to
    sleep the past days by taking his watch duty.
    Yeah, I am never going to take caffeine pills again that was an unhealthy experience

    During my hardest partying days I would drink multiple Redbull vodkas. Several times the next day I would get random white spots in my vision.
    I also had nights where I did Monster & vodka. I mixed all types of energy drinks and yet NONE of them gave me white spots the next day regardless of the type/amount of liquor and energy drinks consumed…

I had a bloodtest done recently and it came back telling me I am pre-diabetic....which in my head doesn't make sense bc it doesn't run in my family and I am very strict on my diet/gym rat routine. The only thing I can come up with is being in a caloric surplus for the past year and consuming a ton of a carbs, the half can of oxyshred energy drink I drink almost every day and the oxyshred pre-workout I drink almost every day. 😬 Just got into my cut phase so I'm going to see if that may be the culprit as well as cut back on that energy drink situation. No need to compound the inherent issues i already had, so i switched to coffee and almost immediately noticed the pressure subsided in my chest (liver still acts up but not as bad). I feel like we should talk about their effects on the kidneys. I suffer from chronic kidney stones and I'm 30. My first stone was when I was 16 and it was 9mm. There are lots of minerals in them that the body ends up not using and they accumulate into stones if you don't drink enough water. As a rule of thumb, if I have an energy drink, I'm drinking 2 bottles of water too. I think others would be wise to actively increase water intake when drinking these too.

    Thanks for this excellent breakdown of what happens when you drink too much energy drink. I feel like more should be done to educate people about the dangers of these kinds of drinks. I have a friend that have a huge energy drink problem, he can't go through a day without drinking at least 3 large cans of energy drink. It has begun to affect his ability to keep a normal job. He's on reduced hours because it has completely ruined his ability to sleep. He sleeps 10 hours but he never gets any real sleep, because he keeps waking up.
    He keeps making excuses about him needing energy drinks to get through the day because he can't sleep properly. I've tried to explain to him, that the reason he doesn't sleep is because he drinks too much energy drink. But he's in complete denial about it. I'll show him this video, and hopeful it'll make him think about it.
    I feel like energy drink is our modern day cigarettes problem. Doctors and medical professionals keep warning about the potential dangers of these products. But the companies just keep ignoring them, and keep pumping out new products and blasting consumers with commercials. Sooner or later, there needs to be a government regulation. Just like they did with the tobacco industry.

      There is nothing inherently dangerous about energy drinks, though. It's just a drink with a generally high amount of caffeine, B vitamins, and sometimes some other random stuff. When used responsibly, there isn't really any significant danger or issues with them. This isn't comparable to cigarettes, which are absolutely terrible for you even when used "responsibly."
      The dangers of energy drinks are that it might be possible to drink a lot more caffeine than you would if it were coffee or tea (because there's more caffeine per ounce of drink), and marketing that very much tries to hype up how "cool" it is to drink them.
      But you should keep in mind, an energy drink isn't far removed from a drink from a typical coffee shop. A 16 ounce caffe latte from Starbucks, for example, clocks in at about 150mg caffeine, which is roughly equivalent to a 16 ounce Monster Energy (140-160mg depending on specific type of drink.) If you drank four or five of those in a day, you'd be in for a bad time, much the same as if you'd have four or five Monsters. If you have one per day, you're probably fine, unless you have pre-existing conditions that would be exacerbated by the caffeine, sugar (if you're getting a coffee or energy drink with sugar in it), or other additives and ingredients.

    • @1Arsitup1
      @1Arsitup1 Год назад +8

      Literally the point of the video is that there is nothing inherently wrong with energy drinks. Unlike cigarettes, you can have an energy drink once in a while and you will be just fine. Saying that energy drinks are our modern day cigarettes problem is just wrong.

    • @triggertits
      @triggertits Год назад +8

      @@1Arsitup1 You're both wrong! There is nothing inherently wrong with either cigarettes or energy drinks. You can have one cigarette every week for the rest of your life, without having any major negative side effects. But the real problem is the addiction that follows, especially for the people that are more susceptible to addictions. The caffeine and the sugar in the energy drink, will create an addiction in your body. That will start a negative spiral, where you constantly need more and more to satiate your cravings. That has always been the real danger of cigarettes, the nicotine addiction they create, that makes you smoke more and more. Then after 20 years of chain-smoking, the consequences hit like a hammer.
      The tobacco industry has long know the danger of their products, and now the energy drink industry is doing the excat same thing all over again. They know the addictions that their products create, and they're doing absolutely nothing to help the lives they destroy.

    • @dc8836
      @dc8836 Год назад +7

      @@triggertits I mean, kind of? But there is zero doubt that inhaling smoke is bad for you, and cigarettes contain a number of things that are known carcinogens. Even one cigarette a week is bad for you. I can't think of any doctor that would tell you otherwise. Sure, it's substantially less bad than smoking a pack a day, but it's still bad.
      But one energy drink or equivalent amount of coffee (coffee is around 60-90mg caffeine per 8 oz serving, most energy drinks are in the 80-100mg range) per week will likely have no harmful effects unless you have pre-existing conditions that would make you sensitive or vulnerable to the effects of caffeine.

    It's kindof funny that I stumbled on your kidney stone video today and commented that I've had a lot of them. I used to drink atleast one energy drink per day to get through my 10-12hr physical work days. I started noticing a twinge in my kidneys (which I have become hyper-aware of what kidney pain feels like) when I sipped an energy. I stopped drinking them, and stopped having kidney stones. One day I felt like I needed an energy boost, and thought if I just drink extra water I'd be alright having a few energy drinks. I had about 3 over the course of 10 days, and ended up getting a kidney stone about 2 weeks later on a backpacking trip deep in the Denali National Park wilderness... it was a Pontially life threatening situation out where I was, because I couldn't keep water down without throwing it up, and I had miles of rough terrain to cross to get back to civilization. I could barely walk. I was lucky that it ended after about six hours and the rest of the trip was great, but I now know that energy drinks are just a no go for me.

    I drink one a day five or six days a week (so when I'm working basically), and have done so for a few years. I don't have any negative symptoms yet, but I'll keep an eye out for them.

      Same I drink about 2 a day, 1 at the very least, but also im pretty darn healthy, workout daily, eat healthy daily. Only thing i notice which ofc makes sense is the heart rate but thats normal when drinking an caffeine. Also, i have always gone for the sugar free/0 calorie cans, I quite literally never go for the sugar ones. Lastly, I don't get these "I MUST HAVE ONE" addictive vibes. If i don't have one my energy levels will clearly be lower but I'm not craving one. The main reason and only reason i drink them is because its caffeine without the coffee taste which can get kinda old after a while.

    I've had breathing problems for the last couple of years. After quitting inhalants of all stripes and adjusting my exposures in my work environment, I believe that my energy drink consumption was affecting my heart in very real ways. Ever since I cut it out for the most part, I feel way better. Goes to show that you need to listen to the signals your body gives you.

    Man, thank you. That bringing it all together section at the end hit me hard. I’ve got Ulcerative Colitis and have been HEAVILY addicted to monster and Red Bull for 15 years now. If you can love the drink and stop drinking it because you know it’s bad so can I. Today is the day. It stops now. I’ve got 2 kids and a wife to live for. I gotta get this UC under control and stop with stuff that I KNOW is bad for me. Cheers.

    I am a depressive (F33.4, F34.1) . The only meds that "worked" for me were SNRIs (Venlafaxine 225mg) and they came with some nasty side effects which is why I stopped them. Now funnily enough.. A monster energy after breakfast has been the most effective treatment Ive found threw medical means or otherwise. I am no longer fatigued during the day. I no longer nap (was napping for 4 to 6 hours daily). My mood is stable and I am exercising. My heart rate is stable and I no longer have hypertension from my medication. Now anxiety is increased marginally over when I was medicated but all in all I feel alot better. I wish I could find a product that didnt have all the bloat of a monster (excess sugar, bad PH, high caffeine). Ironically I cant drink coffee (anxiety goes threw the roof) and I have tried taurine supplements but they weren't helpful. Something inside these, or a combination thereof, is extremely beneficial to me.

    I was dependent on C4 energy drinks last semester cause I am in school full time, working full time, and going to the gym trying to get healthy.
    What finally got me to stop was the fact that I was having more and more Tachycardia attacks. Almost every other day.
    I knew better, but I didn't listen cause I was so tired.
    I have since then learned to balance my schedule better and stay away from energy drinks

      Dude research it yourself, he is godtier creator but he can't make us all happy 100%. It is great to be curious and lucky for us we live in this time with all books online, and even much more. It is needed for us to research because there are always new stuff publishing so we can question many things we learned in school or before that we keep thinking of as true, while in a lot of cases very interesting conclusions were drafted false and presented as true to us public from corruption in science world. There is a lot of false informations, so in a way to learn one thing we must be informed about 3 other topics, which fuels curiosity again and again. Due to respect for this man's work, I motivate you to do some on your own, it will be fun if you give it a try.

    Love the content, and this one is interesting. I have a friend that drinks monster and nos religiously every day. 4 or more. As for me personally, I rarely consume any carbonated beverages. They're somewhat hard to drink for me as they bother my stomach and esophagus. I drink a soda on average once a month, and maybe twice a year whenever I want the taste of a nos I'll drink an energy drink. In order the beverages I consume the most of are water, milk, tea, and rum. Coffee would be number 5, but I don't drink coffee that often. On average I might drink a cup or 2 of coffee in a week or two. I honestly drink a lot more rum than coffee. Energy drinks are kind of a rare treat for me. Anyway I'm rambling now. Nice video, and I love y'all's content.❤️❤️

    Very interesting and informative video. I’ve had no previous exposure to this channel, so I was curious as to how good it is. I’m very impressed. Energy drinks are highly addictive, but being a medical professional I had figured out for myself that an energy drink every now and again isn’t a bad thing (given the fact I lead a fairly active lifestyle and I’m have no major medical history aside from knee problems stemming from an injury, nor am I predisposed to any major medical problems). But, like you, I was once addicted to them and drinking multiple a day. It’s extremely hard to kick that habit and decide to drink one without that habit reforming.

    As someone in the IT field, when it came to the sympathetic and parasympathetic autonomous nervous system I felt the explanation for it being like a program running in the background was spot on. There are multiple programs running in the background even at idle or rest state, when no work is being done to keep the system running as it should be.

    I've had an energy drink almost every day this week to give me energy too study it hadn't even occurred to me that maybe I could be addicted. I probably shouldn't be drinking these drinks as often as I have been lately because I have a congenital heart condition, and I do feel the side effects like racing heartbeat, and I can't sleep at night. I definitely need to cut down on my energy drink intake and not have them every day. Great informative video

      if you have any pre-existing heart condition I would stop. Energy drinks reduce the bloodflow and constrict the muscles so much its bad for the heart. or atleast keep it low and maybe once or twice in a month. Not to sound im telling you to do stuff. But ive experienced alot of issues with energy drinks and my heart at relatively young age.

    I went crazy on the Rehab sugar free ones. The mistake people make is thinking artificial sweetener is suitable for your body, it isn't, at all, you actually would rather just have raw cane sugar ten times over than artificial. After a while of drinking them my health started to suffer in a lot of ways; migraines, bad gut health, stomach aches, weird stretch mark things appearing on my sides. They actually made me quit caffeine altogether, I avoid it as much as possible now.

      It depends on the type of sweeteners, xylitol, stevia and aspartame are not particularly harmful in low doses, however some sweeteners (particulary aspartame) have been reported to cause a plethora of issues even though it is partially composed of an essential amino acid (phenylalinine).

      Sugar free sweeteners serve a purpose! Harm reduction and calorie reduction. Sugar is sugar it’ll cause all the same problems if abused.

      I agree. Sweeteners keep in better shape than sugar. Harmful doses of sweeteners are hard to get on a daily basis but aspartame is worst one.
