    I definitely agree. I’ve had multiple Prodigy’s and they are smooth. But it’s the long term reliability that matters. The coating, internals, etc. We’re in an age of the gun world where so many guns come out that we don’t care about longevity anymore. This is also why we have such bad consumerism (including me)

      Staccato isn’t a status symbol. It’s not even high end on the scale of 2011’s. They’re mid tier in terms of price and build quality. Staccato/STI is so popular because they’re the ones who invented the 2011 style pistol with a removable grip module. They had a patent on the design for 25 years meaning they were the only ones legally able to produce them during that time, so there’s way more of them on the market than any other 2011 and they’ve had 25 years worth of marketing behind them that other companies don’t have in the 2011 space. Essentially, they were first up, best dressed.
