If you want another version of smokiness, how about roasting the corn and adding smoked paprika instead of the liquid smoke! I think that would be really tasty! Chorizo sausage would be amazing as well.
Oh, man.... that's an amazing idea!!! I actually froze some corn that was roasted with chipotle powder, butter and lime juice. I'm definitely gonna give that a try.

You ought to get some Roosters so you can have chicken in you're freezer and then you can make chicken broth Also you could raise you're own baby chicks
I'm nervous about having roosters because of the younger grandchildren. I've heard so many horror stories of roosters being mean. It would be nice to have our own baby chicks, but I'm not sure if it would be worth the risk.
