High-poly to low-poly workflow | Quick walkthrough using Autodesk Maya and Pixologic Zbrush

  • In this video I quickly go through the steps I did to create these low-poly stylized (pirate) swords. I used Autodesk Maya 2022 for the low-poly modeling, Pixologic Zbrush to add some high-poly detail and Substance 3D Painter to add some textures and render out an image.

    nice tutorial, may i ask if do i need to uv unwrap the high poly one that i made in zbrush? or just the low poly one?

      You should just have to UV the LP - The HP model should keep the UV information from the LP model after you duplicated it.

    See when I do the process the zbrush model is so much larger than then maya one so it won’t bake in substance, what do you do?

      Are you loading your HP mesh from Zbrush into the "High definition meshes" option in the baking settings in Substance Painter?

    This is not high to low poly modeling. This inverse that approach
