    I rather like the sound of the finished board, though I do agree that a deeper sounding switch in that config would otherwise probably be a better move for a less audibly fatiguing experience. I know a bunch of folks who would love a board like this!

    This is a sound from a QK board I did not expect. I really like that they've started to include options that help with reaching a higher pitched sound with the board.
    I still don't know why there isn't a flexcut-less version of FR4 and Alu and I don't think I'm qualified enough to even speculate why but I think if they removed the flexcuts then they could help the board fit my preference in clack.

      Budget would be, at most, ~$100 for a completed custom keyboard. Theres plenty of very good keyboards around that price now.
      I couldn't be bothered going down the rabbit hole, I bought a Reddragon k649 pro. Fantastic keyboard. Solid 8/10 out of the box without doing anything. $60 USD by the way. I suggest you see how far $60 can go before you try to frame the meaning of budget. If you think 150-250 is budget for barebones, lol. You are absolutely not playing with a full deck of cards mate.

      @@prestonvarner611 I didn't think it was good at first, I listened to other enthusiasts who said it was good. Then I got it. You're just trying to justify how much you've spent. That's why I mentioned the brand I have. Under 250 is not cheap for a custom keyboard when you can get an 8/10 experience out of the box for $60 USD and an enthusiast could get it to 8.5-9/10 with a little time and still come under $100 USD. So you think paying 250% to get a 10/10 frame is cheap? Okay.
      You've probably been in the hobby for years. I only looked at custom keyboards a year ago, right when the budget market started to come leaps and bounds in quality, within spitting distance of the higher end. My timing was lucky and I don't have to fork out hundreds and spend hours for negligible improvements. When you started the hobby there was a big gap. There isn't anymore. Deal with it

    • @marinated5425
      @marinated5425 3 месяца назад

      @@prestonvarner611 I only mentioned the brand name to prove that you're trying to justify how much you've spent on the hobby instead of defining what budget is. When you started, there probably was a big gap between budget and higher end. It's not like that anymore. At all. WOBKEY Rainy75 is ~$109. It's been a year since I kept up. There should be more examples. For $250 I could have a virtually perfect keyboard. And I would have ATLEAST 2 sets of switches and keycaps, one of those sets of switches being professionally hand-lubed. I'd rather spend $60 and get a very good keyboard. What else do you want me to say?

      sorry for the inconvenience! gb is inevitable for highly customizable keyboards like qk100 with case, weight, plate, screen bezel, keycaps and switches - we are looking at over 20k variations; with that said, our fulfillment speed is also the top tier in such products as we try our best to front the money and produce ahead.
