- Until recently I didn't know who composed the music for this classic scripture song from the 70s, but recently I learned it was composed and copyrighted by Joanne Graham as a means of teaching herself to play the guitar. .She has kindly given me permission to share it with you here.

I was reading Psalm 19 this morning and remembered that there was a song that I sung in high school (gradutated in 80) and I just couldn't remember the tune. Thanks to you and RUclips I was able to hear it again! :) Thanks so much.

Years ago the Haven of Rest Quartet sang this acapella on their national radio broadcast. It was fabulous. At the radio station, we were never able to find or get a recording of it. March 28, 2022

Thanks Jack. One of the first scripture songs I learned when I was converted in 1974. The word never returns void.. I remember the words and melody.

One of the very first scripture songs I ever heard. One of many favorites. :-)
This is the tempo I learned...but this song is so great... it's even good at slower tempo...but I do prefer the faster tempo. This song so ministered to me as a new believer..and still minister to me as an older believer. I would love to sing this in heaven.
I don't know that I've ever heard a slower version of this song, It's just the way I learned it. I'm glad it ministers to you!

Yes it did, I had a scripture album with a lot songs, but it got lost living with room mates years ago. it was by maranatha, i wish i could find it on cd. i really loved it, also the church i got saved in has a you tube documentary under Bethel Tabernacle , Jesus Movement, you might want to check out, Blessings to you !

I'll have to think about it. I play by ear, so it's not always easy for me to break it down. Actually, this isn't super difficult to play. Other than the melodic lead at the beginning, the verse starts with G7 or just G F C G F C , then the refrain is F G Em(add G) Am F G C.
