- This will be my 98th scripture song video! I didn't realize how many scripture songs I'd uploaded to You Tube until just a few days ago! That's exciting to me. I love to share God's Word this way. I know by doing this I'm helping people to hide His Word in their hearts. To me there could be no higher calling.
This particular song, I learned back in the late 70s @ a church called the Sonoma Mountain Lighthouse. I have no idea who composed the music, but it was instantly one of my favorites the first time I heard it, and I don't even know if I was a believer yet the first time I heard it! I think I may have heard it for the first time in 1976 when my sister came to stay with me when I lived in Glen Ellen, CA. She invited me to go with her to a church she'd found that met on top of a mountain under a parachute! I loved the music, but I wasn't really into church at the time! It wasn't until August of 1977 that I found Jesus for real and asked Him to be my Savior! Anyway, I hope this song is a blessing to you!

Thank you Jack I remember this song from the 70s when I first got saved in New Zealand , great way to memorize scripture. Scripture in song and David and Dale Garrett were fairly well known for that back then . Thank you for posting big thumbs up from me.

I think the Lord must have led me here this morning...I live in Auckland now but got saved at Gisborne Central Baptist Church when Marcus Ardern led a meeting with Reg Arnold and Graeme Carlé. I got baptised February 8, 1976 and still have my beautiful little certificate signed by Reg...looking forward to seeing him One Day!

Jack, this song really brings back lots of memories, the first time I heard this my twin and I were in concert at Tabernacle Church in Melborne Floridia, around 1973or 74. Jamie Buckingham was the pastor at that time. Jamie was a well known writer , he wrote & co wrote many books as well as being a syndacaded magazine writer. This song has stuck with me all these years, I often find myself walking around the house singing it. Thanks for sharing it , your a real blessing Brother!!

@coolanddark BTW, the guitar is a CraViola by Giannini. It was designed by Brazilian composer, Paulinho Nogueira. The timbre is supposed to be a cross between a viola and a harpsichord, but I just think it's a great sounding guitar! I first saw one a number of years ago at a singspiration I attended, and immediately decided I needed to try and find one. Since then I've owned 4 or 5 of them, but this one is my favorite, so I kept it! It has a solid cedar top and laminated Brazilian rosewood s&b.

We sang this song when I was a kid in home church.... I'm wondering who wrote it
Isaiah the prophet apparently wrote the original text which was here translated by the King James scholars. However, I assume you mean who wrote the music. I am unaware of the identity of the tunesmith for this particular song, but sometimes they make themselves known, or someone who knows will share that information. I do my best to give proper credit when I become informed.
