  • Here's a link to the same video without the intro: • Amazing Grace In The H...
    My sister, Sandy, came to Tennessee from California to stay with us for a few days, and before she left I managed to get her in front of the camera to sing a song with me. We used to sing a lot together when we were children, but for most of our adult lives, we have not lived near each other, and so haven't had much opportunity to sing together, much less make a video. The problem is we don't even know many of the same songs anymore, so we had a little difficulty deciding which song to sing. After several attempts at others, we decided on this one. Although I already have two other versions of this song on YT, it seemed appropriate to do this one together, so I hope this version will be a blessing to those who view it.
    There is a house in New Orleans
    They call The Rising Sun.
    And it's been the ruin of many-a poor boy,
    And God I know I'm one.
    Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
    That saved a wretch like me.
    I once was lost, but now am found;
    Was blind, but now I see.
    My mother was a tailor.
    She sewed my new blue jeans.
    My father was a gambling man
    Down in New Orleans.
    'Tis grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved.
    How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.
    Now the only thing a gambler needs
    Is a suitcase and a trunk;
    And the only time that he's satisfied
    Is when he's on a drunk.
    Through many dangers, toils and snares
    I have already come
    'Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
    And grace will lead me home.
    Now mother, tell you children
    Not to do what I have done;
    To spend your life in sin and misery
    In the House of the Rising Sun.
    When we've been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun,
    We've no less days to sing God's praise
    Then when we first begun!

    How special was that !!!! Thank you so much Jack and Sandy. Too bad about the proverbial tyranny of distance as it would be so good to hear more of these brother / sister duets from you both. What a lovely bond to have shared your salvation awakening with each other, too. Thanks for sharing the song and the story.

      Hey Dave, I appreciate your kind advice. The dialog at the beginning was for my subscribers, many of whom were most likely interested in meeting and knowing a little more about my sister. This was the only video we have had a chance to record together. I have been doing this since August of 2006. I'm well aware of how quickly one can lose an audience. That's one of the main reasons I uploaded another copy of this video without the intro. My mistake for not including a link in the description before now. I have included a link at the beginning of the description to this video so that anyone who wants to can easily skip the dialog. Thank you for caring enough to share. You are the third one in 9 years and 14,303 views to make a similar comment. I probably should have thought to include a link to the shorter version a long time ago!

      Jack Marti I apologize for sounding brash with my comment. That wasn’t the intent. It’s the issue of making the point as quickly as possible in your subject matter is what I was getting at. I get that your audience would want to know about this but I watched the intro and testimony, which is great, but it’s a bit round about on the point before you get in to the meat of what you are saying.

      That's why I uploaded another one without the intro. I was talking to my audience at the time who would have been curious about my sister. It never ceases to amaze me how easily offended people are. Not that there's anything wrong with preaching, but I, in fact, was not preaching in this video. I was merely sharing a part of my story that included my sister. I didn't insist that anyone believe what I believe. If you think that's preaching, I feel very sorry for you, brother. ruclips.net/video/f4lTErxtKzE/видео.html
