You guys are fantastic. Great tips, great humor. Too many RUclips boxing coaches, even the really good ones, are way too serious about boxing. Most of us are just trying to learn something and have fun doing it

I mean if you study old time boxers like sugar ray leonard Marvin Duran Joe Louise Andre ward Floyd Mayweather shit even manny pac they all don’t have their back heel up when moving they’re planted firmly in the ground Tommy Yankello did a film study to prove that. Being “flat footed” gives you stronger base and balance. The back heel up is a more European boxing thing I’ll leave a link. ruclips.net/video/k3rx9QtjFz0/видео.html the heel comes down they slide and then you plant their feet. Back heel uo is a myth film doesn’t lie.

@@poriccrompton it’s not about breaking rules 😂 the proper stance is both feet planted and you slide film doesn’t lie 😂.

You are 1000% right.. Even though it seems like manny is bouncing for every second he is actually switching between bouncing and sliding his foot position, and then always planting and people don't see it because they all do it so fast

Also, work on your calves. Footwork gets 100x easier if your calves are strong.

Mike Tyson is a heavy footed boxer, he sits down on his punches and has amazing power, speed and evasiveness. I like your technique, but please do your research before giving out lessons. You could do more damage than teaching.

What are the disadvantages of being flat footed compared to being on the toes? I ben doing boxing for only 3 months and just recently starting doing competitive boxing classes sense I mastered the basics enough to use them. So I still don’t know a lot

Sometimes as a boxer you have to stand one side flatfooted for shifting weight and power into your punch.

It does kinda depend on style if ur flat footed or not too. A lot of inside fighters like to be flat footed since it provides more stability and balance to hold your ground better and to throw powerful punches, whereas ur typical fighter that likes to be on the outside and those of rely on footwork like Muhammad Ali will prefer to be on the balls of the feet for the mobility it provides.

People struggling with the concept of what this is teaching, every fighter will be in the balls of their foot on back foot. It’s basic boxing has nothing to do with how freely a fighter moves
