Just installed my RBP Stealth Running boards on my 2018 Ram 2500 CTD. It's a simple install. If you've ever taken apart the interior of a vehicle and wrenched on a motor not a big project. The wiring loom connectors were very well made and it was easy to work with. Plenty of zip ties for this project are included!
I took about 5 hours to install with the extra help from my 5 year old son in my garage. What I found to be the hardest part of the install was threading the motor mounting bolts into the back plate that sits inside the Ram frame. If you have the factory nuts inside the frame I'm sure it's much quicker. One simple change I'd make for the wiring is to have the passenger side magnet contact wire moved to the passenger side of the wiring loom. Drill through that floor and connect near the B pillar on that side. Currently, it goes through the driver side floor. Having it routed through the passenger side floor would prevent having to fish it under the seats and console inside the truck. I'd say it would be a cleaner install.
These steps have been sturdy and are very clean system. No adjustments needed and they work great. Happy I cancelled my AMP order and bought the RBP running boards. Oh and I don't have to buy a splitter for my OBDII port.
So glad to hear and thanks for the feedback!
What’s the weight capacity? I’m 6’2 and over 300lbs

@@rollingbigpowertv 2021 power wagon can my husband get these for his truck he just got 75 anniversary power wagon
@@kristielee5797 I’m shopping for my 2016 but the americatrucks.com website lists them as 2010-2021. I’m confident the basic cab sheet metal has remained unchanged yet from 4th to 5th gen.
I'm glad someone is trying to compete with AMP! Maybe now they'll both have some discounts to help us out!
We keep our vehicles for 15-25 years. I drive 5-7K miles per year since I retired. My 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double Cab, w/ premium & technology pkgs with a 6' bed. I plan on keeping it until I am dead

@@michaelmarble2917 no problem
I live in Hilliard Ohio and I’v seen the truck a few times.Just turned 18 3 weeks ago and just bought my first 4th gen Friday.Love the content!
You’ve come so far brother, you should be proud! Love the content and that sweet ass truck 👍🏻
Great video been looking for an independent review and install thanks man.
Ryan, glad you had a great experience with these boards. Mine was not so good... had to use the plates they provided and chase the threads on ALL of them, not to mention the 2 bolts that go through the pinch weld on all the motors, which I had to drill out because I had no holes. This should have been a 3 hour install like you said but the garbage I had to work with made it much more difficult than it had to be. The wiring was the least painful I have ever dealt with though which made it easy to button up. My wife has a JKU that I'll be putting these on...I sure hope they do a little quality control with their hardware like they have with their wiring harness!!! Thanks for the heads up on these boards though...they are nice when you wade through the b.s.!!!
This is my favorite RBP power running board video
😍😍😍 honored
Man, it does appear to be extremely easy to install in comparison others out there on the market! Great vid as always, bro!
Already getting hearts from the GOAT, greatest of all time
So, what you’re saying is RBP sponsored this video.
I personally love my AMP boards on my ‘17 Ram, and I don’t have the magnets and exposed wiring in my door jambs.
I just put my amp streps on my 18’ 2500 and I also love them. Especially the obd plug and play to activate the doors. These RBP are sweet looking also but the attention to details with the wiring had me go with AMP.
Thats great! Thanks for the feedback!
@@Fireguy1962 Ryan shows our attention to detail on the wiring, product quality and ease of install. Glad you're happy with yours! 😊
Rolling Big Power He doesn't have them. He has the Amp Research steps because they pay more attention to the details.
Ok, maybe “attention to detail” were the wrong words to use for what I was referring to, but not having to add magnets and just having to “plug and play” with the amp steps makes it seem easier to install. But your steps look amazing and your video are very enjoyable to watch.
My RBP steps just came in tonight, can’t wait to install them hopefully this weekend 🤞
Getting that done for my dually soon, thanks for the video.
Great Product just got mine today to bad its raining outside. I found time to install them when the rain stopped and I'll do the electrical tomorrow.lol
Looks awesome!
Awesome video! I even loved the hills green tool box
I love the design of these steps on how thin they are. What I don't like is the extra wire for each door. More wire more problems uou think they would figure out how to plug into obd2 port.
Just installed my RBP Stealth Running boards on my 2019 Ram 2500 yesterday. They look great but really wish @Rolling Big Power would have designed/planned these a bit better on the gas models. That front motor and assembly hits the frame mounted vibration dampening unit on both sides. Reality is if they would have just built it with the motor on the opposite side of the assembly it would have cleared. Other than that, install was fairly straight forward and the quality seems to be much better than AMP. Assemblies seem much more heavy duty.
Good stuff Ryan ! they look great !!!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for the info
#notificationsquad, can't wait for the end result
Like the bestop powerboard no inside wiring. Had them for awhile and no problems
I'll definitely consider that if I get a ram 1500
That's awesome that you can't see them, nice job. Where did you hook up the wires ?
After watching this, I wish I would have bought these instead of the amp steps. The amps were such a pia to install. It required very precise alignment to prevent it from hitting the bottom of the cab. Not to mention, I paid 1300 shipped and it has one less motor than the RBP's.
Looks great, when are you installing the RBP taillights?
Cant wait
Are those holes already there on all the rams? or do we have to drill holes in the rams? thanks
So how much of your new build is RBP paying for? after you kissed their ass so much in this video 😂
Craigon i would be kissing ass to if i had a channel and wanted free stuff.
Dang, I’ve been waiting for this video forever
Tommy Midtlyng here it is!!
Wow this is awesome! I didn’t know RBP started making powered running boards. I was recently planning on getting AMP steps but after seeing how awesome these RBP boards are I’m definitely going to wait it out and get a set of these once they start making them for my truck!! By the looks it will absolutely be worth the wait😎 thanks for the video, trucks looking great man!
Thanka for tuning in!
And depending on your trucks lift height extended drop steps coming soon too! 😎
Awesome I’m really looking forward to getting a set! I’ll definitely have to go with extended drop that will be sooo sweet!! RBP, fantastic job you guys really stepped it up here!
@@kcscustom9759 Thanks sir 😊
Questions 1) What is the drop with those installed? I have a 6inch lift with 35s. Stock boards are just not cutting it.
Question 2) I’m worried about the wiring that could be kicked, or pinched. I have a kid and dog in and out all the time. Please let me know about and wear of tear on them.
Love this video, detailed man and solid. I’m in the market and seriously considering these now.
I'll be taking my Iron cross my side side steps off, and installing these bad boiis!! Super Sick!
Thanks 😊
Where do u go to get your stuff installed on the truck? Lift, running boards etc...
Word to I slept on rbp until now
You should color match the lettering on the steps to the truck
Those are pretty slick can't even see them there. I've saw some trucks with amp steps and you can tell they are there but not the case with RBP
😎😎 exactly all in the details
Might be a stupid question but do both boards come down when only one side opens or just the side that opens? Beauty truck by the way
My question is the motor in cased or does it show like the AMP one plastic?
How far down to the bottom of the step from your truck . I’m trying to figure out if I will be able to lift my leg that high to get up on my truck , I use a step ladder now
Nice!👌
Sure would have liked more footage of the wiring harness installation.
So do they get as low as AMP? 6" on 37s wife has a hard time. Any help would be great.
The lights help a lot
They really do!
Green leds in the running board lights would look dope
Ok ok now we’re thinking outside the box 🧐
how are you Ryan? Love the vids and new more mods!! Keep up the great educational videos!
gavin cor wonderful how are you! Mods on deckkkk! About to get wildddd!
RYAN MAYER Are you doing LED lighting around the exterior getting rid of the halogen bulbs?
RBP sponsored my SEMA jeep. Great company!
Love them 🙌🏼
How to install rolling big Power running board on a Jeep Wrangler
Are they Better then the AMP Research PowerStep?
Man Those boards are really nice 👍 and your truck is getting more and more badass...😬💪😈
I wish they made them for my Nissan frontier pro-4x 😭
Man, 600 Pounds ! That would hold my sister on her way home from Golden Coral !
2 questions1st what is the vertical drop from bottom of door to step when deployed2nd can the disable switch be used to lock the steps down for door ding protection in crowded parking lots
On the Rams like Ryan has, the vertical height difference between the bottom of the door and the edge of the power board is 12.6". And yes you can leave them down in a parking lot if you do choose. Thanks for your interest!
Didn’t think the truck needed running boards but dangg😍😍
EXACTY! Hidden but they’re there!
@@ryan2546 yeah do you know if they have RBP running boards for 3rd gens?
At 50 that was the first mod, priorities changed over time. Nice vid , always enjoy watching.
So glad I don’t have to jump anymore!! Haha
The side bolster of your front seat will appreciate it as well.
Hey Ryan, I realized this video is 2 years old. Is RBP planning to make a kit for the 2021-22 Ford Bronco? These seem to be a better value than the AMP ones.
I just order mine from custom offset for 2016 ram 1500 on 35's with 6in lift. I ordered the 3in entended boards anyone know if that was right? No where does it recomend for lift size
While it’s good to have competition in the power running board world. I’ll still purchase the tried and true Amp Steps. Watching this video makes me think no big difference with function, finish, and install. Hopefully RBP will have better luck than the other power step company knockoffs (Bestops) that copied Amp Research.
Thanks for the feedback James, and for watching. Our power boards are completely different in design, function and manufacturing, so no "copying" others. So much so, that we were awarded 7 of our own patents. So thanks for the feedback, but your facts are a little off. Have a great day!
I'm patiently waiting for the megacab specific ones! RBP told me they were being made!😍
They are!!!
THOSE ARE GOING TO LOOK AWESOME ON YOUR RIG
@@rollingbigpowertv any idea on expected release dates yet?
@@deathninja007 It will be summer time frame
How much is a set for a megacab? $
Are these available in Canada?
You need LED’s for your truck headlights. Your truck would look so much nicer even thought it already is amazing
I think it would look awesome if you painted your mirrors the same color purple as your lift
I thought about that 😂😂😂 would be one of the only people two toning with their mirrors that’s for sure
Rumor has it that Rough Country is OEM'ing RBP boards. Anyone know for sure. Looks almost the same in 2023!!
Nice install man💯💯
Thanks my guy!!!!!
@@ryan2546 you're welcome!! I love your channel!!
Cummins Power appreciate the support!!
Does RBP still make running boards?
The amp power steps seem to drop a little lower.
They need to make some for 1998 gmc Sierra z71
Do you know when they will be making extension for lifted trucks? I need one that drops down a little further. Thanks.
We are in production on them, they'll be out around summer!
Looks great. I like how they don't use the obd port(I don't want a splitter), but for the cost, I have to wait. I have other things that need to done before a new set of boards. RBP, want to send me a set?
Well thank you so much for the support. We hope to earn your business when you're ready!
Is there a way to wire these WITHOUT the magnetic switches in the door jambs?? That's a DEAL BREAKER. I'd like them to deploy as soon as I hit the UNLOCK button - not upon opening the door. They look great otherwise - nearly invisible. NICE
Were is the crome powered step bars with step lighting come on
i have 2021 power wagon 75 anniversy looking for them rbp running boards can i get these anywher
Omg that's sick its literally bolt on !!! Wow!!!
Yessir!
Yes 👏🏼👏🏼
@@rollingbigpowertv I checked on your guys interwebs. Is the tundra crewmax same as double cab when comes to these power bars ? I have a 18 double cab and 6.5 bed. Didn't see a opt for it.
@@deon865 The Double Cab is coming next - most likely summer release. We only cover the Crew Max currently. Sorry about that!
@@rollingbigpowertv crazy stoked thanks again for quick response !! If Ryan has it and diesel brothers as well has to stand up to abuse. And great rate . God bless you guys . Cant wait my wife said can't lift my truck without lift. So. Win win. 6in lift coming as well .
the great thing is when you wait with product on back order. RBP says you only have been wait to 2 months before we discontinue the line. We have people waiting for 6 month we are cancel there orders Now that is customer service
Ur definitely gonna need to install either white or purple LED rock lights in the wheel wells
I may have them waiting to be installed 🤷🏼♂️😉
How to Delete the Delay to close?
👍 👍 can they be left down in a parking lot to protect my doors from people parking to close ?door dings ..
John Kiser yep!!
Can these fit a 2005 ram 2500 quad cab 4x4
12 is a steal are you kidding me !! Bargain !!
Good stuff man, keep the awesome content coming 👍🏻🇺🇸
Appreciate it man!
How this going to work on ur weather time ? It snows where I’m at right now too so
The sealed, IP68 rated motors work GREAT in the harshest of weather conditions.
I am NOT mechanically inclined at all, so who can I pay to install these on my 23 TRD Off Road double cab Tacoma in north central WA state?
Rbp’ amp, or mopar????
13:44 Ryan sounds like you going to be sitting high as my semi truck 😄
I am don’t you worry 🤣🤣🤣
@@ryan2546 😄 🍻
RBP states as a NOTICE: Not for trucks with factory air ride. Why would it not be compatible? Especially if they work off the magnets in the door jam. Unless they are speaking to the 1500's and the front and back air ride. I could see that lowering too much for these power steps. Any ideas?
They need to make them for 2nd gens!
We're working on it!
Rolling Big Power ooooooh 😍 don’t tempt me with more build ideas
Rolling Big Power cant wait 🤙🏻
Yes! 2nd gen please and thank you!
Whats the weight limit?
I’m curious because I didn’t see nor heard it discussed in the video but, the steps do retract when you open the rear doors? Im sure they do, just didn’t get a confirmation about it.
Yes!!
RYAN MAYER do you by chance know why they aren’t compatible with the 05 superduties? Because the cab is the same from 99-16
Great question and yes they do!
@@tg_performance9205 We're working on those next! The cab is the same but sadly electrical isn't 😔
Where did you drill a hole and how big was it. You didn't show where the power hooked into either.
I definitely want some but it might be a bit of a waste of money on a 08 F150
Colby 0101 they don’t make them for a ford 150 at all !! F250 and up only
Do they tell you also what tools and sockets are needed? Also....you need some led lights from headlight revolution. Those factory ones are killing the leds💪
Yes - the installation instructions list which tools are required for the install 😊
They tell you more than you need to know so you’ll have everything covered! You’ll have 0 problems doing this as a Saturday morning project and be done well before lunch!!
So you have to add door sensors..hmmmmmmmm the competition does that part better using the vehicle OBD 2.
Do you the runningboards flex at all when you step on them?
Depends on where you step and how much weight you're putting on them. Ours are rated at 600 lbs per side
Do they flex when you step on them? Do you weigh much?
I’m 185lbs, Stay tuned for upcoming videos you’ll see how much they DONT flex 💯
Need a headlamp light hat like tickle off of moonshiners I baught one love it from red head co. (Plus love them chicks w red heads that's a dif story lol )
I have one! Shoulda used it haha
amp steps took me less than 2 hours a lot nicer than having wires in the door jam and no drilling in the floor boards just little hole for the led wires to go through pinch weld..and the mounting hardware is the same....not an rbp design
Hole was made into a plastic grommet 👍🏼
@@ryan2546 it is what it is...
Motor for the board sounds loud, or is it just me?
Must just be the video. We're actually several db less than others
looks like someone from RBP helped him installing this, also how much did rbp pay you
Not a thing 😁
What grill is that
Custom RBP grille
This steps are awesome looking but I still don’t think they compared to AMP steps
I don’t think any body notice that when this steps deploy they go up instead of dropping down for easy access.
AMP steps they actually drop down for easy access
Don’t get me wrong this steps look good with few nice features but price wise they still pricey, I got my AMP steps at 4Wheel part for $1100 plus $280 for installation
Better than AMP Research?
Maybe a dumb question, but looking at the website for prices. Does anyone know if the price is for one side or does it include both sides?
No dumb questions! It includes both sides and everything you need to install and enjoy the product!
