Seems like RC has really improved over time. Gotta respect that
You the driver so left is left and right is right 🤷🏻♂️
Those are nice I definitely love my gmc retractable steps. They have led across the whole steps
Mine is on the way to me...ordered back in March and just got an email confirming that it's shipped. Will update after I greet it install.
I have a 2020 silverado crew cab and don't care for the look of the nerf bars on it. And this video has definitely helped me to try out the rough count steps. Thanks for your help.I am definitely subscribing. Thank again
Awesome, think I’m gonna pick these steps up for my truck since my amp step motors died. I like the lights built into the steps
@@CheechDogg.0n37s how do they compare ? I don’t wanna buy a step that will only last 3 years and then break again
Definitely wanna see a install on a older style!
Curious to see how long it'll take for the steel bracketry to rust. Thats probably the main con, if not the only con that I see. The amps are 100% aluminum so no rusting. I like how the amps tuck up and are almost completely hidden on my 4th gen ram.
Have these one one of your 2020 Sierra’s. Looks and works great.
Hey,
Thank you for the video. I have a 2019 F250 Super Duty. And just ordered the RC power steps. And I was worried that I had made a mistake buy going with RC instead of Amp.
I’m glad I made the right choice.
Thank you! 🍻
Howd they turn out
JW, dope vlog! Stan's Denali's look so sick! I wonder how well the LED's light up at night on the steps?
I like to think my truck is lifted because I look like a kid getting into it. And then I see videos like this where guys are sitting upright and still have head room.
put the RC RETRACT STEPS on my 2022 2500 at4 in December and have no complaints ,,i would like the lights to stay on a little longer
I thought the same thing! Maybe a full minute would be good cause it’s like 30 seconds now
Love the powered steps. RC seem like a great alternative to the AMP. But I'm gonna stick with my Rhino RB20's. I like the extra protection it provides for rocks or debris kicking up from my tires when driving. Also a good rock slider for when I go off roading
Looollll" just keep a factory look for this truck" hahahahaha awesome mate 😂😂 got a great laugh outta that 🤣 !! Absolutely 💯 truck it's completely nuts 🥜🥜🥜
Thanks 👍
They look good, definitely would like to see how they look at night on his truck
Me too, want to see more demo of the product and if the lights are bright white unlike the amps that are bluish and dont match or light up much
Amp and RBP were months and months out of getting me steps. Wish these were available when I had bought my truck.
Should've called us, My 14 warehouses never ran dry
@@joshuabinks6474 what the web site for your power boards
You need the amp with extension for that bro. Bad ass truck tho🤙 I love my amp steps.
Steps tuck in really nice on f250’s 👌
I’ve always heard setting in the seat is how you determine left an right
Do you have a link to them? RC website only has the same ones as AMP. I have a 15 LML and would like to get some
Nice truck man I wanna lift up my OBS truck like this but not to high
Wonder what one is better in the snow and salt 🤔🤔
Always drivers side (left) passenger side (right) all manufactures use
Just picked up a set for my 21 Chevy duramax for just over $600.
AMP Research has to do something with their lights 🤔
Totally agreed, I have a pair on my ram 1500, and you would expect after spending $1,500+ for power running boards that they wouldn’t give you some cheap leds with a sticky backing that will eventually fall off. Besides that that I love them with no issues going on over a year
I like the Amp better as the Amp tucks in better. Less visible IMO. Also holds up to 600lbs and 5year 60k mile warranty compare to 3yr on rough country.
@Chris G I totally agree I have the amp steps on my 4th gen ram and it looks so sleek and nice just seeing them deploy out of nowhere and just disappear when the door closes, but the stick on led lights suck
Amps do tuck in better for Rams
@@seandp85 I just bought a 2022 Chevy 2500 High Country so I am going with AMP.
I have a question, can these be mounted onto a the step that was there before? That way there is a 2 step climb? Let me know that would be awesome,as I’m getting older harder to climb into my truck
Running into the same problem with mine , can you do a repinning video ? Curious to see how you fixed it
Unfortunately we didn’t do that video. Reach out to RC to get it exchanged
I like to purchase some Rough Country for my 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 4 x 4 6.7 Cummins I don't see one for my application just only in gas models.
I am on their website right now. I do not see three supports.? Is that a special model that comes with three.? Or is it because you have a long 8 foot bed.?
I believe this exact model in the video has been discontinued
I never liked when GM started the swinging steps, I love my AMP steps. But these look killer on that truck.
Mine don't swing they look lk amps from GM
@@TheMrjackson40 yeah they did both
Wanna buy these for my 2019 Tundra. Thanks for the video. Wondering if connected to my battery how does it affect my warranty.
Please put the steps. On the 14-18 sierra
Well I might have to cancel my order for my Amp XL for my Denali 2500.HD I placed an order for the Amp XL 3 or 4 months ago was told i have them by end of March then was End of April now I was told yesterday it going be the End of June. Then it probably go to End of July or August..
RBP ones are not “better” in my opinion
How do the leds look?
Do they match the gmc bright white? Amps look like shit and there blue
Question for you tho , can those steps be powdercoated like amps can?
Maybe I missed it, but did they ever show how these steps help him get in that truck. Does he have another step? These would be cool if they actually came down enough to get in that truck.
There’s a part where I get i get the truck
@@JWMontoya 9:24 Thanks, I had another look.
Wondering if the driver step drops down every time you unlock the truck ? Mine does that and I don’t know if that’s normal lol
So much cheaper than a
Amp but still the same quality as Amp!... *2 MINUTES LATER*
"Well this one we got was very early production so this and that wasn't right and then this side wouldn't go up and down right so I had to adjust that" 😅😅
Haven't had a lot of luck with RC products. Ordered a RC bumper once upon a time, they didn't have it to sell. They strung me along for weeks until I finally had enough and cancelled the order. FWIW, my Amp steps are going on five years now without a problem. Why fix something that isn't broken???
Nothing is wrong with AMP, just not available at the moment
I guess they quit making the swing out model with built in lights. That sucks. I cant imagine any thing that sticks on will not last in the elements.
Vehicle direction is always as you sit in the driver's seat.
Are you able to send which wires you repinned I bought these about a year ago and just now getting to install and I’m having the same problem where they won’t open
How do the Leds look at night ?
I just checked and these aren’t available for my 2004 2500hd yet. I wish they were.
Same 😓
I have these on my 5th Gen Ram Rebel and they’ve been great but I put a new battery on the truck this morning and now the steps won’t deploy… Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Still need another step for that step 😂
Could i modify these to fit on a 99-06 silverado
Just installed mine. My obd plug only has one wire coming out of it. Where can I find the rewiring tutorial?
Have you found anything? Running into the same problem
Just installed mine on 2022 2500hd, just one wire into OBD and works perfect. Probably did more with module and less need for OBD.
Can these go on a 2022 Chevy 1500
Have y'all tried 44s do they rub
Left and right is as you are sitting in the driver seat.
Well that makes the most sense!
damn I wish I could spend 200k on a truck! that's awesome
Wish they made them for the classic body style. CATEYE Generation ☹️
Maybe one day 🤞
@@JWMontoya make it happen Mr Influencer 🤪😂😂
How do leds look?
Anybody know which are quieter? Amp power step or rough country retract.. and if there is any little bump noise when finishing open or finish close. Thx in advance!
How many inches do you have lifted on your lly and do you think a Axle dump would look good on a 05 gm truck with a 6 inch lift.
4.5” bds kit
What are your thoughts on the RBP power steps?
Haven’t heard much about them in awhile
Went on RC's site and it doesn't show them. How can I get this?
They’re on there. I just saw rn
wow not my experience with customer support. I apparently have a refresh '22 2500HD but actually doesnt match the website photos. They aren't updating it or giving any answers on when they will fix. I had originally ordered a new one and my OBDII only has 1 wire. Doesnt make much sense but they said that was wrong the first time but then said it was correct actually...lol...It should be pretty simple based on voltage readings so idk why this is hard to correct or let me know why exactly their module isnt working. i even tested my OBDII voltage opening and closing doors and there is a good change from 0 - 1.7 volts. . to further complicate AMP research said there is no change to there '22 2500s (Although they could be pulling some different signal from the OBDII)
Never heard of “refresh” 22 HDs
@@JWMontoya yeah, very hard to get answers, even dealer services cant tell me the changes. Rough Country doesnt want to talk you you very long about '22 refreshed models lol....they said come back in a month (which would be feb '23), i first got this back in Aug '22
Same truck, same one wire, but mine work as designed.
@@GMCHDSierra glad to know you confirm it's one wire. They removed that product now from their site and i see another company only lists it up to '21 now. I'm probably just going to go with AMP research. Very interested to see how the OBDII control module is different since AMP said they didnt have any issues
I have a question do they drop the same as the amps wats the drop down in these
Drops about the same
Like the look better than amps
I agree 💯
I think the Amps are much better. Faster. Tuck away better. Harness seems to be far better than the RC harness. But for a budget stock style step, I’m sure they have their place.
They both have pros and cons
They’ve had these lol
Yes but not for 2020 Duramax
What is the song to your outro
Enough with shit plugging into the OBD connector. Manufacturers with aftermarket parts should include instructions to install their products with better wiring connections
Older steps are hardwire style. Believe it or not, plug and play with the OBD2 is way more popular to the general public
Nothing about the RBP one are “better” quality.
look cheap. not hidden when retracted....
Yikes. Amp all day. Those still look big and bulky. Amp drops way more. Also looks like things would get pinched inbetween the steps and the truck. No thanks.
They re worked the boards to make slimmer and it’s actually no noticeable difference in performance. For half the price too so keep letting brand loyalty rape your pockets
Looks like garbage just like the Aries brand compared to Amp Research
Nothing like Aries lol. I’ve installed those
@@JWMontoya They both look terrible regardless compared to Amp ones that stay hidden under the rocker, and won't get caught on things off road. The install is so easy on the Amp which I've personally been installing for over a decade.
Yeah I couldn't watch any more of your video due to the egotistic agoing with ya lift
Okay, @Truckmaster07. Your turn!
Great idea 👏
