What was a horrific rumor that went around your school, that ended up being true?

Not a rumor, but when I was in 4th grade I noticed my teacher would look at me “funny” when I started wearing training bras. I was also very much a girly girl and would wear skirts all the time. I never told anyone about how he looked at me or other girls because at the time I heard lots of stories of the parents not believing the kids. It turns out he was arrested years later for looking at the girls, it was confirmed that he was a pedo and was fired. It was at that point I decided to tell my mom and she told me I should’ve told her back then and we could’ve saved those other little girls.
That’s horrible. I’m very sorry you experienced that at such a young age. It’s not your fault that you thought you wouldn’t be believed; it’s unfortunately very common to feel that way. What matters is that he’s gone from that position forever.

I had a middle school music teacher who always came up with the weirdest stories, like how he was Santa's brother and how he would play chess with Jesus every Thursday afternoon. Stories that were obviously made up as a jest. But one day he mentioned that he had a daughter and that she was a famous opera singer, which no one believed because this guy never told the truth about anything. Well, it turned out it was true when his daughter showed up in our class one lesson, telling stories and showing off official posters in all kinds of languages advertising her opera shows. It was really mind blowing to find out that the daughter of a regular music teacher was a big shot in the music industry, and that he'd never even bothered to bring it up until that day.
I mean, Chris Evans dad is a dentist so that's pretty similar

10:38 that sounds eerily similar to the case of skylar neese, got killed by her two best friends that, quote, "didn't like her", and so they thought that the best solution to that was to kill her. police were only able to put all the pieces together after rumors of her two best friends being involved spurred and after one of them broke.

It probably is the Skylar neese case that being said theres a lot of cases that happen like that out where I live but usually its cause people owe other people money and have there friends kill them I had to carry lead pipes and knives in high school to do debt collection for people running drugs through there so I wouldn't be targeted for any violent acts best decision besides finding my fiancee I ever made my high school was a gang warzone pretty much in the middle of nowhere and even had a tunnel to the jail to smuggle drugs in and people out I'm so glad I just collected debts and moved on just figured I'd share the story

In middle school, a teacher left school normally on friday but never arrived to her classes on monday. Everyone jokes that she probable died or something. Turns out she actually did. A drunk driver crashed her car, she never got home that friday. This was in Mexico, so our Día de muertos' ofrenda that year was dedicated to her. Miss Betty, you're still dearly missed.
That in our sophomore year a girl got caught screwing her BF in the Athletic Laundry Room, then blamed him and claimed rape.
Later on social media it got leaked that she lied and just didn't want to get grounded and suspended/expelled (she was bragging about how she got away with it).
The guy lost his job, his scholarship, and got expelled and had to be homeschooled and wasn't allowed to walk at graduation.
Fucking shit that girl ...I have tears reading this 😭 If I am that guy I will sue her because she literally ruined his whole life
I wonder how everyone felt for being on her side now they learnt the truth.

Whenever one of my friends or a teacher is away for a day, me and my friends always joke that they’re dead. ‘being dead’ has become the same as ‘being away’ like when they come back we ask “why have you been dead the past two days?” And stuff. Sometimes I’m just like “damn, one of these times it’s gonna be true, isn’t it”. But at least I get to say “called it”.

I once skipped a class in Donnie Bickham Middle School in Blanchard, Louisiana because a friend of mine freaked out at lunch that the substitute brushed up against her in the crowded classroom and felt he had a semi chub against the back of her head. I never learned if the guy actually was a pedo but I wasn't going to take the chance so I hid in the bathroom using my packed lunch to fake throwing up until a staff member pulled me out of the bathroom. On the walk back, the ending bell rang, so she walked me down to my mom's car, clearly not buying the sickness excuse. I'm still thanking the universe that plan worked.

This happened after I graduated high school. A girl I went to high school with had a son a few years after she dropped out of school. He was 5 years old when he supposedly went missing from a carnival. He was found deceased almost a year later. 25 years later, she was convicted of killing him!

Two of my brother's teacher were/are married to each other, but many of theirs students took 3 years to realize it.
Obviously there were rumors about something between the two.
There are two teachers at my school who are married and it took me two years to realise it. I only learnt when my friends were talking about seeing them pick up their kids from the primary school when walking home and I was like “hang on. THEIR kids?” I never saw them together at school and just assumed they had the same last name. We have two female teachers called Mrs Evans so thought it was the same.
I’m elementary school, there was a rumor on how our old principal was gay. When we got a new one we all found out it was true. I earned 30$ bucks that day from my friends

My high school had a broom handle incident.
It was 100 % legit true . The boy who it happened to got expelled, the jocks who did it got like a weeks suspension.
When I was in middle school, a girl (12-14) was rumored to be dating a 24 year old and she was purposely was trying to get pregnant. Turned out to be true after she was taken in to cps and the cops got invovled. Found out in high school by some of her old classmates that she had abandonment issues and the guy was a friend of the people who were raising her, aunt and uncle?, and they were basically telling her to marry him so he could just take care of her. Hence why the police AND cps was involved.
I ran into her years later looking like she was struggling with 2 young kids and with a dude way to old for her.

When I was in 3rd year (9th grade), I heard from some class mates during afternoon classes that some guy who went to my home economics class was found dead in the graveyard that was a kilometre away from the school. I didn't know if it's true or not until it was proven true the next day during homeroom and the school held an assembly to pay respect.

It was in elementary school, 5th grade, and there was an male art teacher, let’s call him Mr A. Almost every time Mr A. had class, this female teacher (who’s class room was next to his), would always come in to his class. ( let’s call her Mrs. E). They would get all flirty and touchy and what not, at first everyone thought they were just being friendly, cause that’s what teachers did or whatever, but then some kids in my grade start spreading rumours that those two were sleeping together (keep in mind, they’re both married and had children at home). Almost everyone knew about it, even some teachers would gossip about them at their lunch break. Eventually, the beans get spilled. They had a huge assembly that literally *EXPOSED* Mr A and Mrs E. AND MRS E CONFESSED THAT SHE WAS PREGNANT. (And to make things worse, Mr A’s daughter was there too!) So they both get fired, and we get a new art teacher.
A teacher we all thought was sleeping with a teacher while his wife was a TA at our school. Was sleeping with 2 teachers that only came out due to he being HIV positive. Then yes later it came out he went prison for sleeping with students too.

i told a teacher that i thought I could be pregnant (i wasn't, i think I got my period later that day but i was scared ok?) some weeks go by and there's a rumour that a girl in my class is pregnant, i had forgotten all about that talk w the teacher and i wanted to figure out who it was.

I had a HS math teacher who told us if we needed to go to the nurse, just go, don't worry about the hall pass, and he explained why: he had a girl in a class once who asked to go to the nurse, and before he wrote the hall pass, he asked why, and she said because she was pregnant and didn't feel well. So, he decided he would never ask another kid why they wanted to go to the nurse, he'd just write the pass. Some period of time later, a student asked to go to the nurse. He didn't ask why, he just started writing the hall pass. Then the kid threw up in his room. After that, he stopped writing hall passes.

Yeah music/drama is a weird subject because both the kids and the teachers are usually crazy (I can say that because I was in choir for 5 years and I was part of 3 musicals) but honestly most of us are crazy in a good way and we wouldn't change it for the world! We're chaotic but we like it that way! 😃

weird story from me, it wasn't exactly full rumor because it was very quickly told to be true like 3 days after the event, but one day two girls at my school were both sent home early, we also saw police cars outside. Turns out one stabbed the other with a pencil, the rumor was more of on who was involved with the stabbing since they wouldn't tell us for awhile and about 5 different students went home early that day based on what people knew.
One of my friends (at the time) was said to have brought a gun to school and threatened to shoot herself. (mind you this was middle school) Turns out she had brought a gun, told her best friend who told the principal and she ended up being called out in middle of class and she got taken to the hospital in an ambulance, she disappeared a few weeks later and she was found dead. Everyone said that she was killed by her guardians for causing them a lot of debt. Turns out it was true.

I talked to no one in school. I never even learned anybody's name. It seemed ridiculous to bother to learn the names of others for only four school years, with an enormous summer break in the middle of each school year. I had no interest in learning the names of people that were so cruel and malicious. Thus, I was the quiet student.
Had to have a protest at our school because they tried to let a kid, who burned a girl with acid in another school, into ours. Didnt think it was true at 12 but was happy to be out of lessons then a kid showed me the news article.
Back in lower school, we had one PE coach who was really rude to everyone. She was leading a group of kindergartners to carpool on a rainy day with a metal umbrella. Her umbrella got struck by lightning in front of all the kids. She came back a few weeks later with a broken collarbone and a much better personality.

There was a rumor in one of the HS I went to. A Male science teacher slept with the entire cheerleader squad. It was true...he was fired and sued for what he did by all the girls' parents.

When I was in middle school, a rumor went around that I got tased by the DARE officer in fifth grade. It was NOT true. I am glad I moved to a new middle school after that.
There were always mumbles of a few particular teachers being alittle too polite to female students (cecil county Maryland) turns out a few of them are convicted child abusers in the worst way... someone posted the court paperwork on Facebook

I called that out as bullshit because I knew her dad and he was pretty strict and was also never a cop. She comfirmed the rumor to me when telling me how she got weed one day when we randomly walked home together. I never even asked. It's a crime in some states to send sexts to other students. Even it said student shares the content with others. She was caught, he wasn't.
Regardless of whether it's a picture of yourself, or even if you're the one who sent it- it's still classed as child pornography and you will get charged with distribution.

I think my Middle School never has these events because I live in a tight knit community in a nice suburb of a (kinda) large city. If I was in the intercity I think I’d hear more terrifying s**t than usual.

-when I was in 9th grade, some of the 10th graders who were the deputy head girls and a few house captains were involved in drug peddling around the school, I along with others who were also on the student council + teachers had to do full body searches and had to search the entire school for possible hidden drugs (found quite a bit of what I think was cocaine, not sure tho, just know it was a white Powder because the moment we found it, it was confiscated by the school authorities and the police and parents were called). Everyone thought it was just a stupid rumour except for the criminals and well 5 of us and the authorities. We were told to keep shut about it while at school. I never told anyone because my entire friend group was part of the student council and we all knew already.
- when I was in 10th, this really good looking 'teacher' joined our school (maybe 23, 24 ish), ans a lot of girls had a crush on him. That was the year I started a photography club in the school and he was appointed by the principal as the teacher in-charge, I was the Student in-charge and president for class 6-10 and a senior from 12th grade was in-charge for class 11 and 12. We spent a lot of time in the office together, editing stuff for the magazine, the newsletter, event pictures for media houses, etc etc. So a HORRIBLE rumour went around that the senior student in-charge, the teacher and I were somehow involved in some kind of polygamy and had fricked in a threesome. I was horrified at this rumour when girls started asking me about it. But it turned out to be half true, the senior and the teacher were hooking up, they started dating officially once she graduated, and then she got pregnant at 19. She's 20 or 21 now.
-11th grade (I changed schools at this point) rumour that the start basketball obsessed athelete of the school was dating the stuck up nerdy bitch and were pretending not to even be friends because of unknown Reasons. (plot twist, I was the bitch, I didn't want anyone to know because people talk shit and try to Break couples up, but eventually everyone found out, and obvi there's been several nasty attempts at breaking us up.)
-12th grade, the attention seeking girl who's obssessed with my boyfriend before him and I Even started dating started telling everyone that she hooked up with the art teacher and he got her pregnant, then it changed to her cousin, then it changed to my boyfriend. Then she said she hooked up with this other really popular dude because she wanted to get revenge on my boyfriend for rejecting her. At the endw, the baby Daddy? It was her Uncle. She's sitting at home with a child now, doing absolutely nothing in life, did not get good grades, did not get into college, just got a rep for being an obssessed psycho Bitch and a liar.

True, but a lot of people in the Western world would still probably associate the swastika with Nazism anyway.
I thought the swastika was originally a peace symbol but the Nazi's tilted it and (sometimes) has a circle around it, and changed the meaning. Because in that case only the original version should be allowed with the swastika being banned
@@andreamartinez249 That's all true, and as far as I can tell the swastika is still seen for its original meaning in much of Asia. It's just that swastikas are still seen in a negative light in the West. Also given that this particular teacher apparently had a neo-Nazi past it's pretty obvious this was not an innocent non-crooked swastika. Even if the teacher renounced the ideology it's still easy to assume the worst if he kept the tattoo.

Well, compared to the swastika I've seen in Buddhist temples, the Nazi swastika actually pinwheels in the opposite direction, so it's easy to check. If the excuse was it being a peace symbol, pretty sure it wouldn't _just_ be the swastika alone, too easy to misunderstand.
There was a rumor that the band teachers step son fricked his girlfriend in the band room and got her pregnant. It was true and shes a great 7 year old girl now. She doesn’t know people have known about how she was conceived since she was in the womb.

I passed out in the bathroom in 6th or 7th grade, which I did because I was severely dehydrated and hadn’t slept in 4 days. But no one knew about that part. They didn’t care.
9th a rumor was spreading I brought wine and vodka to school and got shitfaced in the bathroom. Was true.
Same year I got a rumor spread around that I had made a large area of my leg bleed by scraping and clawing at it in the bathroom, and that’s why I was limping so badly. Well.. you can guess how true it was.
I never admitted any of this and no one told a teacher. I was bullied for it. And harassed. And asked about explicit favors. :) high school has been lovely for me.

I don’t really know if this can count as “a rumour that turned out to be true.” Because I have no evidence that it’s true and I heard it from a direct source but a girl tried to kill herself in the school bathroom during break at my school last week. I wasn’t at school but apparently my friend went home early because they were around when it happened. The girl who did it is known to lie and to be an attention seeker so she probably just did it for attention.
Had a teacher who was gay in highschool, he didn’t want to talk about it, we knew he was gay but he wouldn’t refer to his husband or boyfriend as such, but totally a bottom.
