I really liked this one. I've lost 40 lbs. so far by eating better and doing your workouts every day, even in a wheelchair with severe arthritis. Still have 80 lbs. to lose, but I know I'll make it. Hope you make more intermediate workouts on your new chair channel. Thank you, Jules!
Wow! Congrats on your amazing progress! That's fantastic! In terms of intermediate workouts, let me know what you're hoping for so I can make some new ones for you on the new channel. Length? What would you like included, etc.?
@@ImprovedHealth I would like them to be 30 minutes, if possible. Also, I really like doing punches, legs to the side (inc. side jacks) and everything else. My shoulders are injured so I can't lift my arms very high but like you suggest, just go in front. I can stand also, so I like sit and stand. I also like anything that works my quads, core, glutes or my lats. I also use weights and really like strength training. I have a bad left foot, so have to watch that. Thanks, Jules!
I enjoy this seated workout. The music is quite motivated to make me be cheerful and active. I couldn’t help to stop laughing when you do the very fast walking. It seems like that you have equipped with a motor in your body. And looks like a naughty girl stepping fast asking parents something. It’s so much fun! It’s a good workout👍👍👍🥰
Your comment made me chuckle...thank you Emily:) I actually found it quite hard to get the coordination down with the jogging while seated! I'm glad you enjoyed the music and the workout. ❤️
Dear Jules, Many thx for your contribution to our health. I had been despaired because of my left knee condition I had to give up exercising and long walks) until I discovered your channel and found out that I can exercise seating on a chair. Funny but it has never occurred to me ! I especially love this complex and when I am better I will practice your ABBA complex. Thank you very much indeed! and besides health benefit its also very pleasant to look at you and your optimistic smile, By the way your legs are gorgeous! Best regards!
Aww, thank you so much:). I am so glad you have been able to do the seated workouts…I know how frustrating it can be when exercise needs to stop or change for various injuries, etc. As you get through some of the seated workouts, please let me know if you have any requests.
@@ImprovedHealth Dear Jules, I cannot thank you enough- I do your chair workouts every day (the new 30 min one to 1950 music is even better than this one) and I should say my knee is much better. You are our Health Angel! Sending you my warmest vibes , Best regards, Marina PS God Bless you for your professionalism and generosity
@@ImprovedHealth I’m so glad we have them right now, and am sure looking forward to the day when we can get back to the other ones. Thankful for so many options.
Please let me know how you found the intensity for this one...I'm trying to decide what level to create next for a seated workout. Your feedback would be helpful:)
I really really tried to do this sitting because it uses muscles in different ways. After 5 minutes my body said No Way, this hurts. So I got up and finished standing until the stretching part. Thanks for us having fun and doing something good for body and mind at the same time.
If you can do standing exercises, I'd suggest sticking with the standing or modify this one to do it standing instead. The exercises shouldn't hurt...it could have been the chair you were using or even the height of the chair, etc. But, bottom line is if you can stand and exercise, stay standing because the standing exercises will challenge your strength and balance more. I create the seated options for those who need to work out from a seated position. ❤️
Thanks once more for uploading a shorter workout just when I needed it because of an early appointment for my husband at the hospital. Stress relief accomplished. It was a great one I did both alternating sitting and standing Both work great.
This was great and I also did it standing and worked just as well. I love your pink and the background made me feel springy! Quick q...when I do the side steps and then the seated leg over knee stretch, I feel some pain below my hips (so more on side) not sure if that is hip flexor/IT band/??....any thoughts or on stretches to do before or after these?
Hmm, the physical therapists/physiotherapists are the experts on your question. To me it sounds like the IT bands...I am always tight in that area as well but I never experience pain, it's more of an annoying feel that is telling me I need to stretch more. One great stretch I like (which is a runners stretch) is to cross your ankles, while standing, then stretch down so your hands come to the floor and twist slightly so your hands are walking to the side then hold the stretch. I'm not sure if that stretch is a doable one for you but it should stretch the area you are referring to. Alternatively, you could see a PT who can give you that specialized answer.
@@ImprovedHealth thanks, I can "almost" to that stretch without falling over lol and can feel that in the right area....thanks for the tip and for sure will ask ask PT.
II don´t know your name. This work out is really healthy for me as I cannot work out standing on my feet.I loved the ABBA video but my knees and my doctor said no.I need to srtenghthenn my cuadriceps in order to work out standing.I would like your advice in how to combine your videos. If exercersing 2 different ones ,one after the other , or on different days.I do rewind 15 minutes to get 40minutes work out. and as I am very tall I take more time to strech..I am a healthy 57 years old who had been swimming 40 minutes ,three diffenrent styles during this past summer.
Hi Maria, my name is Jules. My suggestion would be to go to my playlists and check out the 'intermediate seated workouts'. I have some that are specific to just arms, abs and core. The videos are different lengths so you could choose whichever length you feel like doing that day. If you put two cardio workouts together, just skip the ending (stretching from the first workout) and then skip the warm up of the second workout but finish with the stretching of that workout. That way you'll be getting a proper warm up, cardio workout and stretching. I hope that helps!
Thanks for the feedback, Joann. I usually talk in the seated workouts but occasionally I have requests for no-talking seated workouts. In case you haven't seen it, I'll add the link to the new channel for chair workouts: www.youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
Wow. I can feel how this would be a thorough workout even seated. I forgot to trade my bunny slippers for shoes before your video started. Do my osteoporosis-challenged bones care if I exercise (standing) barefoot? Thank you for the many hours it takes you to plan, tape and edit these videos.
Lol, bunny slippers...well, that's one I haven't heard, yet! Lol...still giggling here. In regards to the osteoporosis, I look forward to hearing how your bone intensity has improved over time with doing these workouts along with strength training:)
Have to wait for next bone density test in September. In preparation for that, I think I’ll go back to Walmart and get those pink tennies I saw today. They will be energizing.
I hi I this could be more advanced by going faster and bigger range of motion for the arms. I’m going to be out of commission soon for a foot surgery so I hope so. I work out 5 days a week so I am really nervous about literally being off my feet for my recovery.
Welcome to my channel, Adrienne! One of the most recommended things to do for arthritis is to exercise. I create 3 levels of both seated and standing workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate levels). If you liked this level, my recommendation is to continue with the intermediate level seated workouts, and if you can, mix in some of the gentle standing workouts for variety. You can pick and choose various lengths of workouts. If you find it hard to exercise, maybe try a 10 minute workout morning and evening (or whenever you have time) so you can gradually increase the amount you're doing. If you combine these workouts with healthy eating, you will definitely start seeing change. I absolutely look forward to reading about your progress over time.
Seated workouts can definitely be much more challenging than people realize (especially the intermediate level ones). And yes, they also work the abs quite well:)
Omg so so gad I found your chair workout. I am 62 and on my way to healthy. Thankyou!

@@ImprovedHealth this is why I love you and your videos. You always respond to comments make us feel heard. Your always in our corner cheering us on. Thanks for giving me the link to your website. I have always just found you on RUclips. This is organized exactly what I was looking for. Have a great weekend. Every time I do a workout with you I never feel like I am watching a recording it’s like your live right there with me each time. Thanks for being such a special person I am only 56 but have mobility issues you were exactly what I needed in my life when I couldn’t do all the other programs for exercise out there. I know I will do these the rest of my life in to my golden years.
@@cathyforbes9751 Thanks so much for your great comment/message, Cathy. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Thank you!!! Wishing you a wonderful weekend.🥰
Goodness!! I sprained my ankle last weekend and am bummed I don’t get to do my normal fitness routine - which I’d finally gotten so good at for months in order to lose weight. RUclips chair exercises have been wonderful but THIS. Every bit as good as the fitness programs I’d been doing on a good ankle! Thank you!
I'm sorry to read about your sprained ankle...ouch! It's definitely not fun waiting for it to heal, but I'm glad you've found some of my seated workouts so you can still work out. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) in both seated and standing workouts, and categorize them all into the playlists. Just look for 'playlists' on the main page and scroll down to where you see the seated options. I also started a second channel dedicated to chair workouts and will add the link for you here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
I now upload all new seated workouts to the new channel.
@@ImprovedHealth Thank you - subscribed to the other channel and WILL use. Also planning on trying your standing workouts when my ankle heals!

Thank you so much! My annoying achilles tendinitis and the accompanying pain if I step on my foot is not getting in the way of a good workout, and I really appreciate all your videos. 🙂
Thanks for your comment, Judy.
I had no idea I would like chair aerobics so much. Thank you! And I love the music at the end.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it:)
Thanks! I did this standing up! Your pink background and your shirt were glorious! I love all your magnificent backgrounds!
Aww, thank you Heather. I have to say, I think this is my favourite background, too. It just oozes happiness and springtime.
I’ve been looking for this exercise, upbeat and exciting . I’m 68 years old , and had two knee replacements eight months ago , so I’ve been doing my own exercise , dance sitting. I like high energy. I’m so glad I found you, you gave me something that I wasn’t doing toning , muscles, this is going to take my exercise routine to a whole new level thank you so much ps , I shared it with my 4 sisters, and I’m a follower for life . Thanks for letting me know, Maria. I will get back to creating more soon.
I love your exercises. I’m dealing with back pain and bursitis in my hip. The chair exercises are great. I also love your Pink shirt, it looks so pretty and spring like with the background. Thanks for another awesome video. I have been saving them on a playlist so I can find them quickly. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. I am happy to read you are creating a playlist of the videos that work best for you. When it's easy to find them, it'll make it easier to turn them on quickly and stay motivated:)
another great workout, love the seated ones, as have trouble with standing/mobility Thank You
Thank you, Helen. I'm happy to read you enjoyed this one.
Thanks for the request, Mary. I've written it down and will create something soon.@@marymargaretmoore9034
@@ImprovedHealth Thank you!
@@ImprovedHealth 🤣🤣🤣❤️
Sending you my warmest vibes , Best regards, Marina
PS God Bless you for your professionalism and generosity
This one today. Whew! Great workout!
Thanks Mary. I'm glad to see you are enjoying the seated workouts.

Great workout, really uplifting on a miserable grey day. Liked the music and prompts'x
Thanks Liz! Exercise always makes those grey days better:)
So happy to see a new seated video. I missed the notification for this one somehow. Thanks Jules.
Please let me know how you found the intensity for this one...I'm trying to decide what level to create next for a seated workout. Your feedback would be helpful:)
@@ImprovedHealth I will for sure. I plan on doing it a little later today.
thanks for your work 💘💘💘💘😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Love your workout!
Hi Jules: you are absolutely amazing. You always have great ideas for workouts for the seniors. 😅
Thank you so much, George. I really appreciate your comment.❤️

Very good work out!W

Thanks once more for uploading a shorter workout just when I needed it because of an early appointment for my husband at the hospital. Stress relief accomplished. It was a great one I did both alternating sitting and standing Both work great.
Are you your husband’s caregiver? I remember the stress. Hugs. LOTS of hugs.
@@janne6957 yes, I am. Thank you.

@@ImprovedHealth wonderful, thanks
This morning’s workout!
@@ImprovedHealth Pleased to meet you Jules.Thank you for your advice
Hard class for me, but good. I do like it better when you talk.

👍👏👏👌🙏
I hi I this could be more advanced by going faster and bigger range of motion for the arms. I’m going to be out of commission soon for a foot surgery so I hope so. I work out 5 days a week so I am really nervous about literally being off my feet for my recovery.
I wish you all the best for your surgery and for a quick recovery.
I have hip arthritis will this help me? I can hardly walk. I’m morbidly obese.
😍😘❤👍🇦🇷
Is it my imagination or are these seated exercises more of a tummy workout than standing?
Seated workouts can definitely be much more challenging than people realize (especially the intermediate level ones). And yes, they also work the abs quite well:)
