I fell in love ,as most young men back than with STEVIE & I remember getting my hands on a bootleg live version of this song which I believe was actually this concert. I thought it was incredible. Than I traced back the roots of FLEETWOOD MAC & discovered this guy called PETER GREEN . WOW!...RIP PETER. May your soul at long last be in peace.

The best concert Fleetwood mac concert I ever saw was the dance floor in 1997 in Detroit and they killed it that night. Lindsey was in top form. It was a 4 hour show and dude was on stage non stop for 4 hours straight . Midway through the show Nick's and chris took a break and mick made a comment saying "were going to play some classics "
    They did Oh well
    Green manalishi
Just Lindsey mick and john and that arena rocked that night.

She should not have come back with her stupid dancing, tambourine shaking and ridiculous warbling. I often wonder if Lindsey saw it as a mistake to bring her into the band. If anything this video proves the band would have been much better without her. She sucks.

When you like the old Fleetwood Mac- era blues songs live, watch and listen at the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band fronted by Rick Vito. They are realy great !
Lindsey did a great job in 1975, is a great guitar player but he is absolutely no blues musician.

Those "bluesmen" can't create music of the variety like Lindsay B can and never will. Inquire into what record producers who worked with him think about his musicality - they are pros who know what they are talking about. Blues is stuck in the past - appeals to people who are that way.

To me, Lindsey is more pleasing sonically and his playing style can't be duplicated. He used techniques that nobody else uses.
My absolute fave is Fleetwood Mac's live 1976 "I'm so afraid". He makes you feel the pain and paranoia he was going through when wrote it. Anybody that hasn't seem that vid needs to.

All the great bands go through metaphorical moments ...due to lots of reasons ...moving on , passing away or mental health problems as many have ..that does'nt mean to say there not worse or better just different as is the case with fleetwood mac from blues rock band to a more progressive one of the 70s & beyond...i like both versions ...but the peter green years were probably the most lucrative catalogue of songs in terms of rock classics that many artists have since wanted to cover ...

Peter Green is the greatest guitarist ever, but LSD and marijuana destroyed his life, and when he returned he did not rise up to the heights he once was.
Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac was what I grew up to as a child, but born in 1973 did not realize it was never going to return.
The greatest error in rock 'n roll history was in the naming of a band. Two great musicians wanted to retain their fame and so determined to put their names into the band, but they switched one name around to sound cooler. However if they had just switched the other name they would have gone down in infamy as Mick Fleetwood's Green Peter.
      EXAMPLES: Oh Well.

      @@ReligionOfSacrifice They didn't "switch a name around".
The "Mac" in Fleetwood Mac refers to John McVie. Not Fleetwood's first name Mick.

I gotta say- whichever incarnation of the Mac that you might prefer, how many bands can get it done with four (4) different personas?
Saw them last year with Mike Campbell (Tom Petty Band) on guitar and Neil Finn (Crowded House) on vocals do “Oh Well” (Mike sang it) and they killed it.
Don’t know if the stories about Lindsey are true or not- so I won’t even go there.
What I will say though is-
If they have to get two (2) people to replace you (one to sing your parts and another to play them), that’s a pretty high level to have achieved.
As for the much Loved Stevie Christie can sing rings around her.

Buckingham later said that the Green-Era songs were dropped since he felt that he could never do them justice. I completely disagree. Buckingham did the songs justice.even though he wasn't the original. I used to think bands shouldn't Led Zep until I heard Heart playing Zep songs in 1980. Heart had deep understanding of LZ and you can hear it. That being said, Heart is the only band that earned the right to play them. Nobody else ever did LZ justice in the least. Plant, Page, and Jones agree.

Both were two of FM's most popular sangs at the time. Leaving them out of the set list would be like the Stones not performing songs recorded between "69-'74 after Mick Taylor left. Taylor didn't write them but his lead guitar is was made them great. Ask any Stones fan about Mick Taylor's contributions.

Guitar player: "Ask any Stones fan about Mick Taylor's contributions."
I think any Stones fan worth their salt will tell you that Taylor wrote a lot of stuff for that band that he never received proper credit for, but instead Keef, who occasionally turned up at the studio in the 70s when he wasn't strung out, took many of those credits (and the royalties), and it was this lack of recognition and compensation (and ultimately appreciation) that eventually led to Taylor's departure.

check out the video at the 5:52 mark and you will hear him say the green manalishi in that verse. and yes, both songs are Peter Green songs. Allot of old time Peter Green fans do not like this version or the Judas Priest version. If you havent checked out the Judas Priest version, do so. its pretty good. Any way, this version has always been my favorite version because i love the hammond organ as it adds to the darkness of the song. also love the Stevie part as the song climax' at the end.

Ok, so it's not Green and Kirwan.
What it is is a band pulling itself out of the doldrums. Never again would they have to rely on the past glories of 1968 - 1970. They established their own repertoire.
It is fascinating to see the transition.

People like to point out that as good as a lineup such as the Buckingham Nicks era was there was definitely a limit to what they could do. And now that you point it out I never realized that the Buckingham Nicks era was just a one guitar band and Peter Green had two and then three guitars. The Bob Welch years are pretty fuzzy though. People were just leaving after Pete left, first with Jeremy Spencer and then Danny Kirwan was fired. After that I don't know who played beside Bob on guitar or how long they were in the band.

Mick fleetwood and John mcvie shit on ALL of their band members. I think it was because all of the rest of them were so much better than them and got all their women. You think Lindsey didn’t mess with Christine? Pshhhh. Look at some of the old photos taken behind the scenes. Christine was messing with Lindsey when she was with John. I guess Lindsey just said “wanna trade”? And didn’t get kicked out because he gave up Stevie.

Go listen to Tusk or the Buckingham/Nick's album. Tons of great guitar parts.
He's super influential when it comes to:
-Layering frenetic folk guitar with electrics
      -Writing great songs
      -Very concise fingerpicking
      -Singing while fingerpicking
      -Agressive rhythm guitar
-The background lead style on Dreams has been ripped off so many times people forget he kind of came up with that
Peter Green and Danny Kirwan had a cool vibe but Green was more of a really cool guitar player with an amazing voice and mood.
