Little Fixups for an A-Frame Trailer or RV

  • I've done several Do-it-Yourself videos for A-Frame trailers in the past, but I thought it was time for another. Here's a few more economical ideas that don't take a lot of tools, time or expertise.

    How I get around:
    Trailer: 2004 Aliner with around 80,000 miles of hard use. Includes propane stove, hot shower, toilet, refrigerator, 300W solar, three 12V batteries (one AGM, one deep cycle, one lithium-ion)
    Tow Vehicle: 2010 Jeep Liberty, 6 cyl 3.7L gas engine, 4WD

    Another good video, Slim, and I don't even have a trailer, but always find the repairs fascinating.
    Just found too much bokeh at the end, personally a bit less would be easier on the eyes.

    This is a bit subjective Slim, I like the pace of your videos, no shouting, they don't take 20 minutes to tell a 5 minute story, the philosophy of the mod and your personal philosophy, your ingenuity. I have some envy of your skills. I dream of all these little fixes to things, but often times, if they work, they are ugly. Keep up the good work, you inspire me.

      True. Some of my videos are over a 1/2 hour or more, but, my videos don't take 20 or 30 minutes to get to the point. True, my videos have a 20 second or so intro, but still.

    Love your fabrication solutions to things. That to me is the best part. Lived on a ranch at one time and those well I have to make it work moments were so enjoyable.     Slim Potatohead ... the "MacGuyver" of the Aliners .. and most likely other things as well.. Did NOT fall asleep and I Thoroughly enjoyed it ! But later, when I watch again at bedtime, as I find these totally relaxing ... . I "may" fall asleep then... or not .. LOL ... it just depends on the day and the level of insomnia I am currently experiencing ... ; )

    Very nice. Most of the time simple works better, I think thats where KISS came from. I really like the way you focused on yourself and slightly blurred the background in some of the scenes, very cool!

    Frustration: I've found that beer solves many problems. Relaxing. Homer Simpson says it is smart juice too. So, with some smart juice I am able to cobble things together and sometimes it works!

    Slim for your poster sticker problem you need vehicle number plate / tag adhesive pads , cut them down to a small size and " hay presto " job done! And by the way ... your A frame caravan is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen ! in fact its so ludicrous that i have got to get one , its bonkers but i love it !

    Great video as usual. Interesting and enjoyable. We recently posted a video of our upgrades to our trailmanor 2720. Since then we've done enough new ones that it's time for another video. A usual occurrence as there is always some little thing that will make your home away from home nicer and easier to use and enjoy. It's always a good day when Slim uploads something new.     Figuring out these kinds of fixes is exceedingly satisfying. It’s also amazing that manufacturers don’t consider things like hatch openings and latch design.

    Slim, this video was not boring. Thanks! Your attachment adaptation "classes" build our possibilities and "can do" confidence to apply to projects we have. Do you go to laundry mats? I don't think I have seen how you handle laundry needs.

    How long it takes to get sharp focus with DSLR when you shoot yourself? I rarely can do it on a first try...

      I use manual focus lenses. Focus is set at a fixed distance. Thanks! SP
