After binging a whole season of IASIP, it's so damn jarring seeing Glenn acting like a normal, functional, *affable* human being.
Speaks to his talent as an actor.

He reminds me a bit of my uncle. The charisma you see is his real charisma that he can put up to the max when he wants to, it's just the situations in Always Sunny have a theme of being absurd. But if you remove the actual context of the show and look at the charisma itself, its real. That's why the character is likable. What is charisma anyway if its not action, acted, the way and method of expression, its idiosyncrasies, the details--both parts subconscious and overt. I'd be interested in seeing the every day situations that he lets loose, what that's like in context, I think he'd be a lot like my uncle. Or maybe it is pure acting, because he's been acting for so long, but... You can see your friends have awesome charisma and character in everyday moments, though for everyone its very different, I'm almost positive it would shine through in a performance regardless of whether the context is absurd or whatnot.

38:15 EXACTLY my brother was saying just a few months back that the average person is a “selfish, narcissistic, prick.” That if you want to be kind, thoughtful, and considerate, that is an active choice that that person is making. Most people aren’t born like that

Really really glad to hear you all talk ADHD and help destigmatize the disorder and its treatment. One other lesser-known adhd tidbit- there’s an emotional component that was left out of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. There’s a push by researchers to get it back in there mostly related to kids progression, but it’s good for adults to know about since it affects our ability to regulate emotions. A lot of us have no idea it’s a thing which makes it more challenging. I wish you both well. You’re both very talented. 🙌🏼

I still have nightmares of when I almost died from internal bleeding due to complications from having my gallbladder removed. I was on the phone with my mother after surgery and I was apparently babbling nonsense. It scared her so bad because I was 8 hours away at college in Iowa. She Momma Beared it from Chicago to Ames Iowa in 5 hrs! The last thing I remember was answering her phone call and the next second I was waking in the ICU hours later looking up at my tearful mom! So surreal! I’m deathly afraid of losing my faculties to anything like a concussion or stroke or blood loss. I feel Katies story!

It’s so good to hear two successful people in the public eye and Hollywood talk about neurodiversity so positively and help to end the stigma.
There’s so many adults being diagnosed later in life due to the lack of knowledge and research done on neurodiversity in the past, especially in women due to most researchers originally using male subjects.

    About Misophonia.
    Yes I finally feel seen.
I watch a lot of food content.
What sometimes happens is the creator will put their mouth right up to the mic and take a big ol bite to show off how crunchy something is or whatever.
You can hear EVERY part of the mouth, including breathing and fluids moving around, and if it is in your earbuds it is the most rage inducing thing you can imagine.
It’s not just someone chewing gum and forgetting to be considerate, it is someone intentionally putting their gross ass mouth all up in your ear.
    I relate SO hard.

51:10 Hearing Glenn voice his dissatisfaction, feeling like he has only got to express a tiny percentage of all his skills and what he can do, is fascinating because, as a big fan of It's Always Sunny, I (and many fans) have theorized that he has so much more to give, even though we've never seen it fully explored! I hope the success of Blackberry helps him break out of the box the industry seems to have put on him and get him a better choice and range of roles.
There are small glimpses throughout the show where he performs lines as Dennis Reynolds in a different voice or a different accent, or when he goes from a large theatrical performance of rage to a small subtle dramatic expression - this isn't even counting all his famous comedic bits, underrated physical chops and the so-called "Glenn Howerton school of line delivery" moments which go viral on film circles across social media that show his uniqueness as a performer. So I would love to see him explore further any of these aspects in future characters! Maybe a historical/period piece or maybe on stage?
54:00 The part about confidence and arrogance being conflated and the harm it can cause is something I deeply related to. In my culture, humility and respectfulness is valued so much, but it can definitely go too far in hindsight, and have a negative impact on your life.
1:11:00 Didn't realize he was so into science fiction and genre stuff! Wonder how he never did a role in shows like those.
1:24:20 Oh shit never even thought of how the timing of the movie being followed immediately by strikes would affect their careers! I guess as the audience we never think of momentum or fame helping you get roles.

This is the most delightful podcast I have seen in a long time. Just two likable people having down to earth conversations :) Myself, my sister and one of my nephews has ADHD as well, and we always have fun with the quirky aspects of it. Nothing to be ashamed of, quite the contrary. And I encourage people getting older to try out extreme sports, because I'm 40 years old and I'm riding my downhill bike everyday, doing stunts and jumps and crashing more than ever before, but I'm still not getting injured, and have yet to break a bone in my body. Don't let age put you down, you just got to get used to taking the hits and falls harder than the young people. Keep rocking on, you guys! :)

incredibly lovely podcast, you guys were a joy to listen to, plenty of interesting stuff to chew on :) personally i always enjoy conversational podcasts that are a bit more personal and thus (to me) more interesting, and it didn't feel like it meandered too much (although I'm also dxed with ADHD/autism, so it might just be that lol), just the right amount of questions and discussion about them. miles above the more rapidfire canned interviews; i do think that's what gives podcasts an edge.
as a fan of sunny & glenn's other projects, glenn's comment about valuing authenticity - not just with his hair, of course, but the way he presents himself in general - really strikes me, because to me that's one of the things that makes me enjoy watching him outside of his roles, on the sunny podcast or other interviews, and also hearing my own friends have had a good time speaking with him at events and the like. too many people get caught up in always trying to be funny or having a witty remark or comeback for everything, i appreciate the comfortable rapport.
as others have said, it's nice to hear discussion of neurodivergence and all the quirks that follow, especially seeing others be diagnosed late into adulthood. i'm also not hyperactive, and was convinced it must not be ADHD, because you hear of and see all of these surface level stereotypical depictions of what living with ADHD is and it just... isn't quite right. only by talking to other adults did i begin to understand that it manifests itself differently after being undiagnosed for so long, with regards to masking and mirroring, a lot of behaviours tend to get suppressed and you just accept it as a (mostly negative) quirk of yours rather than a diagnosable trait.
i actually believe part of what makes sunny so relatable for so many people is because the gang is very much a group of (highly dysfunctional) neurodivergent assholes, and done in a way that feels extremely authentic and true to life; the "worst parts of ourselves" because they don't *have* a (typical) support system - and most certainly didn't have one growing up - to set them on the "right" path. it's a little bit cathartic to see just how far someone could go if not for the awareness of what society expects from you, even if it is unbearably irritating to witness that absence of consideration in the real world after having to develop it.

I'm gonna tell you straight up As it's taken me a very long time to post a response on that, But finally LOL... As I was growing up saw this and I just want to straight up say, if you can avoid stimulants you really want to... And mostly the above was about children and lifelong Dependence As brain formation happens In conjunction with a Constant use of Stimulants, but as my keyboard has locked up and is about to probably dump this entire text log To a point where I can't even adjust the grammar that's gonna get worse from here on out LOL.
As an adult, if you take it long enough yes you're gonna be on it forever, probably not nearly in the same way as the children who take it who will definitely be on it forever and never be the same without it forever... But with drugs like vivance Which is absolutely spelled with AY but good luck convincing the keyboard I can't edit anymore of that Which is absolutely not spelled with what it decided it was going to say...
Just yeah dude, like it it's tough I get it, But being dependent on a substance that is in rapid abuse and is very controlled and has a lot of supply shortages, and LOL that's just to say that we don't just police 30sA or 70s or the world doesn't end and you're in no possible way as You will not have recovered years later, depending on the use or abuse... And again for people like myself, never... Sorry for the grammar again, I love and hate this phone But all of the phones are quirky in their own ways, and none of that usually involves the long distribution North debution or recording of text, as it seems that has been encouraged towards the other direction andbstimulance

Glenn mentions Sam on the Sunny podcast sometimes and I've heard Sam mention Glenn in interviews too. They're very close friends.

Misophonia. You know the Sunny episode where he is selling his jeep? 'I am unteathered and my rage knows no bounds!!!'
    THAT is the feeling.

Sunny might be one of the funniest sitcoms ever made! One of those shows that seems really silly on the surface but is made with a lot of intelligence it never gets credit for!

Good to have BBB back! I've been in pharmacy over 20 years so you triggered me with the 6 Advil. Please take care of your liver and be careful not to take too much!
