Old vs New, Tradition vs Evolution, Kuromorimine vs Oarai, Maho vs Miho, Nishizumi vs Nishizumi. The true capabilities of both commanders on full display. Both used the same tactics at certain points of the battle, as fitting of sisters trained under the same school, which lead to the same results. Both commanders showed their prowess and experience as Maho always keeps a level head and knows what is going on in Miho's head as she understands her sister, and vice versa with Miho understanding Maho and what goes on in her head. Meanwhile Erika is more brash and arrogant and thinks more in the present while Miho and Maho think several steps ahead. This battle really was a game of chess when you think about it. But as much as they were the same, they and their schools were also different. Oarai used asymmetrical warfare to try and counter Kuromorimine's large number of bigger stronger tanks, while Kuromorimine used more direct brute force to try and crush Oarai. Both sides employed tactics to try and outwit their opponents, Kuromorimine initiating the battle by attacking through the forest, and Oarai used plenty amounts of smoke and distractions at the treads of Turtle team to try and disengage from the various skirmishes they had. It was also a showcase of each of the schools and their strengths and weaknesses. Oarai is smaller, weaker, and more inexperienced, but faster, more maneuverable, and able to pull off asymmetric warfare like how they did both on the hill and in the town. Meanwhile Kuromorimine is larger, stronger, and more experienced, but have difficulties adapting to constantly changing battlefields, are incredibly slow, and overly reliant on bigger heavy tanks that can't engage in close quarters combat as well as Oarai's. Even Oarai's various teams got to showcase some of their abilities. All united helped the slow Porsche Tiger climb the hill, the aforementioned Turtle Team ran harassment and distraction operations, Rabbit Team knocked out both of Kuromorimine's biggest Tank Destroyers, Mallard Team was one of the smoke screen tanks, Anteater Team showcased the ever unpredictable nature of battlefield luck while preventing the match from ending too soon and not having any impact at all, Duck Team was integral in taking down the Maus and buying time, Leopon Team being a giant obstacle to hold Kuromorimine at bay so Miho could pull off her last ditch hail mary plan to knock out Maho's Tiger, Hippo Team sadly didn't really do much other than be a gun that could be a threat to Kuromorimine, and Anglerfish Team for knocking out the Maus and Maho's Tiger securing the win for Oarai. The battle itself really can't be put into words when trying to accurately describe it in its entirety, it's just that amazing of a battle. Both on a character level between Miho and Maho, and on a broader scale of Oarai vs Kuromorimine and Girls und Panzer as a whole. It really was a beautiful display of both story and character, as well as tactics and strategy from start to finish. Easily my favorite battle from the first season and my second favorite battle right behind the second battle of Der Film. And this was an amazing analysis video of such a legendary battle. 20 minutes may not convey all of what the battle entails, but it's enough for a semi-brief analysis video of the tactics and strategy of both sides. Just a mistake in your video: The Rabbit Team took out the Ferdinand/Elefant. The Jadgtiger took out the Rabbit Team, and then fell down into the ditch.

I am not the most familiar with GUP entrees outside of the main series and the movie but this does make me think about Maho's headspace throughout the series. She was happy to see Miho enjoying tankery again, did she have a bitter sweet feeling knowing that Oarai was going to be shut down right when her sister was starting to enjoy things? Did she try to figure out if there was a way to keep Oarai open from where she was at Kuromorimine? Maybe try and pressure her school council into saying they would adopt Oarai's tankery team, that puts an interesting side idea of an alternate timeline where a battle proven Oarai is folded into Kuromoromine and what that would look like but to my original idea. Did Maho ever think about thhe teams she faced and ponder if any of them had a chance to defeat Maho so she wouldnt have to face her sister. Or did she fight all the harder to make sure if Miho got to the final Maho would to, it wouldnt really give character closure if the final battle wasnt the two of them. But just so much juicy character ideas that could be mined I am actually liking the Kuromoroine absorbing Oarai timeline idea. Erica struggling to find her own tankery style but with Miho posing a different sub group in Kuromoromine. Kuromoromine doing practice fights against Oarai to train for matches. Oarai maybe gets more tanks with Kuromoromine better funding. Oarai using tanks that look like the historical modified panthers to simulate fighting against Saunders. Oarai team taking the lead against schools that favor the urban warfare so they become like a specialized team to deploy in specific situations. Miho being a sub-commander like Alisa making decisions, employing tactics, maybe even fighting much more autonomously. Picture if Oarai had the Maus and their job was like the Panzer 3 to cover cities. Just really crazy ideas.

Hetzers can take out Panthers/Jagdpanthers from the side pretty easily because the armor on the side is absolute trash
