@@yanis9871 We'll get 6 parts of Das Finale. Only 4 came out, the latest one got released on October 6th in Japan. It'll only be over in 2027 if they keep releasing a new part every 2 years, and that's if nothing new gets announced.
The fact The Chieftain himself helped collab on GuP says a lot. He said he was even impressed how authentic the tanks looked, especially the interior of the M3 since a lot of media get the transmission placement wrong.

There's nothing wrong with being a gup fan. In my opinion, every tank nerd should watch atleast 1 episode from the show (where there are actual tanks, of course) so they know how gup looks like. I also know that not everyone should be a gup fun, just accept the fact that some people like different things.
I actually learned new stuff from gup, even as a veteran tank nerd. I also enjoyed the amount of historical references in the show, from the most obvious ones, till the most hidden. And the soundtrack is just a masterpiece, each march is rebranded.

GuP is just overall a fun ride. Not to mention there's some interesting bits around it (helped save the real Oorai, helped save the last BT-42, etc. There's also a translated video on RUclips of the military advisors of the show doing commentary, highly recommend).
Not ashamed to say Anzio was what turned me into a pastaboo. I had never really looked into the Italian side of the war. Of which, shame on me, there was some amazing stuff. From cavalry and bayonet charges to furious defenses, biplane pilots doing far better than they had any right to scuba saboteurs, and the wealth of myths or misconceptions that PLAGUE any conversation on that matter (not helped by italian sources only more recently being translated/looked into and contesting old info).

Girls und Panzer is the sole reason I'm even interested in tanks to begin with.
I've been a military vehicle fan since I was a kid but was only ever concerned with WW2 Prop planes. As far as I was concerned tanks were slow, boring, and all looked the same. Then on a whim I decided to give GuP a try. Fast forward a few years and now I'm here. It was such a fun, action packed, and genuinely educational start into the tank rabbit hole. I gave me an appreciation and new found interest in tanks I never had before. Without GuP I doubt I would have ever gotten interested in tanks and found awesome channels like your own.

tanks were unique, they had a extensive ammount of classes and each country and nation did it their own way, thats the main reason i much more like ww2 tanks than Modern ones.
GuP is honestly the main reason for how my life is turning out. it basically kicked me into a full blown tank enthusiast, and because of that, i've become a completely different person than who i was before i knew what GuP was. i decided to take an auto shop course in my school because i saw the automotive club doing their thing and thought 'hey, that's fuckin sick!', and then i learned how to rebuild an engine like the back of my hand. i decided that i wanted tanks to literally be my life, so i decided to enroll in my country's military to become a tanker, and my application is actively under review. but before that, i needed my grades higher so i could get more options in the field, so i studied harder and bumped up my averages by about 10-15%. i wanted models of the tanks in the show, so i became a scale armour modeller with an extensive collection in 1/35 scale.
honestly, i think GuP has had a bigger impact on my life than my birth.
It’s nice to see you talking about GuP, it also had a pretty big impact on me, and while it’s not impressive story wise, with each rewatch I notice something new that I didn’t notice before.

This man played "nah, never heard of it" excuse while having a hug Bonple High School Emblem stuck on his wall right behind him.
Also, I absorb any content with remotely any hint of that late 19 century early 20th century technology, so if you're not interested in highschool girls doing x or cutesy stuff, there are more serious and cinematic anime out there like the first season of Last Exile or Pumpkin Scissors, as well as OVA like Sky Crawlers and The Cockpit. This led to me being more open to anime, and there are also great grown-up friendly ones like Black Lagoon and Jormungand. I've also began to appreciate 90's animation like Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor. Truly transcends my notion of what an anime is expected to be.
Then on the other end of the spectrum, there's literally shows that cater to the normal anime fan, like that one where all the ships in WW2 are girls.

In all seriousness before gup i was meh on anime i had seen some such as SAO being my introduction to the enitre thing but when i watched gup ot just made my love for tanks and other such millitry history thwt is related stronger and it suprises me how much that damm show affected me as it caused me to look deeper into things on my own accord noticing refrences and neat tidbits i did not see on my previous watches of it

Girls und Panzer was the first Anime I was ever exposed to years back.
If I recall, it was 7th grade. I was in a study hall on my chrome book. In my RUclips recommendations, there was a video titled something along the lines of "how to destroy a Maus". It was the scene from episode 11 or 12 of the anime where they take the Maus head-on. Being a tank enthusiast ever since I was four years old, I gladly enjoyed watching the clip. It took me awhile to find a way to watch the show, but I eventually managed to watch it. It was goofy, but it was faithful and fun.
As of now, I don't think there's a single show or movie I love more than Girls und Panzer.
no shit, that was my first exposure to gup also. I was a little disgusted but it planted a seed within me which grew; and when I eventually started watching anime I had also got really into military vehicles so the seed blossomed and I binged gup and instantly became a big fan.

I KNEW IT! Okay, I'm taking this as an excuse to finally go watch the entire thing. I've only ever seen the videos about GuP from Potential History, and I thought it and his videos were really fun. To this day, I've never actually sat down to watch the entire show and movie.
As someone who's been a tank lover since early childhood, and an anime fan more and more as time goes on, I genuinely love what the show does. As you say, it's not just a show about tanks, it's a show about tank enthusiasts, tank history, and being in love with tanks. I'm not alone when I say Yukari is my spirit animal.
Also, once again, War Thunder is a gift and a curse in so many ways. I play it every day, and I hate it so much of the time that I often wonder why I'm still there. Then I start looking through my vehicle collection, thinking about what more could be added, go back to decorating my favorite tanks, and see things like your GuP skins and voices, and I remember why I often love the game more.
Don't hold back, embrace what you love, to its absolute fullest.

You just got s new subscriber. Yes im a ARL-44, yes GuP literally started my interest in tank history and boosted way to much of it and it even does now on. Yes i understand every reason and all the stuffs you said, probably a lot of us thought the same when the GuP idea or introduction came to us, like "how im i gonna even stand a scholarship show with young girls riding tanks?". Then we all changed our minds and probably life is more easier when we care less of overthinking and just give it a try when we actually discover its a damn entertaining show, its stupid and nonsence but a really fun one. Truly a love letter to tank buffs.
ill stick around this channel cause it makes a great job in what i like a lot (the Panzer 4 guide is where i found this channel so i got a lot more to see).

Just for the printout of Bonple emblem alone I'll subscribe, I think GuP: Ribbon warrior series is a gem and should been made into actual anime if possible god I wish for further more content about other minor schools

Holy shit THE GUP it's been here all along! For me GUP is very special because it was my way into both anime and tank enthusiasm. I really love tanks and love like 30% of the animes I've watched, Code geass being my all time favorite. Wonderful video as always Eta

Eta, i don’t know if you will ever read this, but there is a GUP game called: Dream Tank Match for the PS4 and Switch. the game is in FULL japanese with english subtitles, but was only released on europe and Japan so you might struggle to get it, although, as somebody who own’s in the switch, i can say it’s totally worth it!
It can also be played on emulators, for those who don't have a Switch. ;)

I knew I heard GUP music before on this channel! I love the sound track and I have an entire spotify playlist dedicated to it.
GuP was the first anime I ever watched. I had a friend back in high school who was very into anime, I on the contrary was not (not necessarily hated anime, just wasn't interested). However, I was very into tanks and he wanted to introduce me to anime as he thought it might be something I would like. So one day after school when I was at his place playing Xbox he was like, hey I found a funny show about tanks and girls, want to watch it? 6 Years later and I still re-watch it on occasion. GuP opened me up to more anime's as well and man there are some absolute bangers out there that I would probably have never seen. For that reason alone I can say I am a very big fan of GuP.

I remember reading all three chapters in one sitting back when shock content used to make me feel things. Honestly not a bad story. The action is better drawn than sex scenes which isn’t a bad thing but I couldn’t help but wish for more Miho x Yukari action that didn’t involve them being traumatised by the horrors of war.

GuP was my first anime and helped me REALLY like tanks. I’ll always treasure it
GUP has to be my favourite anime of all time even amoug the hundreds i have watched, it was also the show that made me truely love tanks. I really have to rewatch it all again for my 12th plus time.
Last time someone talked about this was potential history years ago, nice watching someone else review it again.

I've been a GuP fan I think for 4 years? (Not hardcore, just fan) and honestly it's what propelled me into loving tanks in the first place. I've never seen an episode of the show before but thanks to watching Potential History's video on like almost the whole trilogy, I came to love it. Also the OST is a bop, the military marches are one thing, but the soothing calm music there is also nice. Anyway that's all, ye.

The fact that this anime also the start of some people liking smaller nation tank (example Finnish tank BT-42, they tried to scrapped her because no funding for museum but GuP fan start fund rise for the tank, some italian tank, and in manga theres actually another nation like hungary, canada, and australia with they're koala commander lol)

man honestly its the only and precious anime no one asked, But for a Tank enjoyer that watch anime as myself its just awesome, the WW2 References, Tanks driving like formula 1 cars and their crazy solutions in battle, the characters representing their countries is just so fun to me, its just if you mix 2 things you like but are completely unrelated and it still works well, its the anime that made me even more interested about tanks.
But i mainly got interested in tanks because of World of tanks, now i am a Normal War thunder player and ww2 enjoyer.

The fun thing about this anime though it's stupidly ridiculous is you don't see a movie or a series that has 50 or more different tanks. That's why this is one of my fav anime

- Tanks (reason i now have 1000h on war thunder)
- No cringe romance, neither other anime bs, just good, also noone dies (clearly an unknown art to any other anime).

Man seeing the voice mods and skins reminds me of my time in World of Tanks. I am a big fan of GuP and was a WOT player and discovered the wonderful world of modding and I used those things a lot when I was still playing LOL.
I feel a similar way about the Mobile gacha game Azur Lane. I was into warships and warship history and although I'm more partial to anime than perhaps you were when you were first exposed to GUP, but I was skeptical of the nature of the game. I had been exposed to AL via their collaborations with WoWs which I also play. I was honestly pretty frustrated with WoWs and the way the devs were (and still are) taking the game and was looking for something new.
For those that don't know, Azur Lane is a Mobile game which has a universe in which historical warships from the mostly WW2 periord are personified as anime characters. It turns out that this is actually a fantastic way to interact with history. I've fallen in love with thr game and it has spurred on an even greater interest in warship history and introduced me to ships and their stories that I wouldn't have known about or considered. The shipgirls have numerous references in their design and dialogue of the ships they represent. It's a blast, and it's honestly just one of my favorite pieces of media now. There's also well over 600+ shipgirls in the game with still more to add.
Some of my favorites include USS West Virginia, USS New Jersey, USS Laffey, USS Honolulu, USS Kearsarge, HMS King George V, HMS Sirius, HMS Royal Oak, IJN Noshiro, IJN Shimakaze, IJN Maya, IJN Amagi, KMS Bismarck, KMS Ägir, KMS Regensburg, RN Zara and the one in my profile picture, RN Duca Degli Abruzzi.
GuP also got me into my love and obsession with tanks ❤

I always assumed you were a public GUP fan, since you have the Bonple emblem behind you, so I found it really funny that you mentioned telling people you'd never heard of it. Then again, it's a minor school only in Das Finale 2 and Ribbon Warrior, so I'm not too surprised no one noticed.
I watched GUP around the same time as you, but kinda the other way around. I liked military stuff to an extent, I'd been to 1940s events around my area, but I watched it more as an anime fan than as a tank fan. I used it to bridge the gap between interests, and because I thought it would be funny, but I really ended up getting into military history because of it. If it wasn't for GUP, I probably wouldn't have all my families stuff from WW2, I probably would've saved a bunch of money which I spent on uniforms, and I generally wouldn't be the person I am today.
I've watched a few of your videos til now, and I feel like you're literally the same person as me lol. I denied to my friends watching GuP for so many years til it slipped when I showed my desktop wallpaper lol.

Girls und Panzer is my favorite for two main reasons
One, it made me change my opinion on anime I thought it was bad and cringe but gup changed that, gup is amazing written in it’s subplots, and characters although there is a lot of them they all have personality to them and they playoff of how the countries were in the time around WW2.
Two, the tanks they designs are perfect to real life the drifting although not realistic it it adds coolness and many other reasons made me want to learn about it, I I’m now a tank enthusiast this is also another great reason why I like gup it made me want to learn about tanks and maybe for a lot of others.
In conclusion Girls und Panzer is really well made in my opinion in the writing, the tanks, characters, and world building, animation.

honestly, if theres one good thing about GUP, its the fact that it popularized Bt-42.
fine with that because the school emblem is better than the massive swastika the historical tank had. And I have seen someone use customization decals to remake the historical skin in war thunder.

You remind me of me back when I was in secondary school.
I was also against anime at that time until one of my school friends recommended me "Girls Und Panzer."" I remember asking him, "Why should I watch a show about anime girls and tanks?" And he told me, "Trust me, you will like it."
I set aside that thought for awhile but after starting my journey in World of Tanks Blitz and saw the Anko PZ.IVs on my team, I thought, "maybe the anime isn't so bad since it has spread its popularity to WoTB." And the rest is history.
If it weren't for my friend's recommendation and World of Tanks Blitz, my interests in tanks would have been pretty different. But at least I have become more open to topics related to military and anime.
Also, I recommend Girls Frontline and Kantai Collection if you wish you extend your interests further in your own free time.

I was sorta half paying attention to the video, but you had my attention through the Warthunder part Lmao. I respect your ability to realize how imperfect of a game it is as a tank enthusiast and enjoyer.

For me Girls und Panzer has a very important place in my heart, it was the first anime I watched on my own (at the time I only watched the ones on TV and Lupin the 3rd) that wasn't dubbed or available in my country if not via streaming sites (Girls un Panzer never officially arrived in Italy, and I watched it in the original language with subtitles) and I remember that it also moved me at the time, now I'm still a big fan of the anime, and over time I have collected figures of Katyusha, Anchovy, Miho, Maho etc.. and I have a small wooden mural, where I inserted the pics that I liked the most, obtained during a school internship, which they allowed me to do for free (and which I still thank infinitely) and recently I finally managed to get the PS4 game that I wanted for a long time (too bad I don't have a PS4) but it's a shame that in Italy this anime is very niche and almost unknown, but I'm happy to be part of that 1%
(PS: I also made a Gup themed mod for Hearts of Iron 4 with availability to do Achievements for fans like me)
Girls und Panzer is my absolute favorite anime, and I could go on for whole paragraphs about how much I love and enjoy it. The story is amazing, the characters are all great, the action is exciting, the tanks are so cool, it's just an amazing anime.
Plus the community is fantastic as we helped turn the actual town of Oarai from a small tourist destination to a massive tourist haven for GuP fans, all after Japan went through a massive disaster about a year prior. Not only that, but we also saved the last surviving BT-42 in the world.
Girls und Panzer is just that great of an anime and I will hold it in my heart for eternity. I love GuP as my favorite anime and one of my most favorite stories/entertainment in general, and that will never change. My heart is set, and is running with it like the engines of our beloved tanks the girls ride around in.

I never watched the anime but i recently watched potential history's videos on it again as they got recommended to me about a week ago by youtube. Its good seeing often not talked about tanks

If you ever get the chance to see the ultimate GuP meme tank in real life, the BT-42, you'd better play the song or I will be severely disappointed.
Like 4 years ago when I started playing World of tanks Blitz (mobile version) the game collaborated with Gup and they made gup tanks to the game. Back than I didn't like anime (i still hate it) so I didn't like the ingame gup tanks either. BUT! A year later somehow I decided to watch the series. Then everything changed. I fell in love with the show the same way you did. I am a fan of it to this day. (I still don't like other animes) In fact, I have modded Wot blitz the same way you did with War Thunder.
Here is a list of other anime that I think history fans like myself would probably enjoy.
AOT - Attack on Titan
very very popular anime, largely because its just that good. While on the outside it just looks like giant zombies but its so much more than that. It has a lot of surprisingly good history aspects especially in the later seasons where becomes a lot more about political tensions and general warfare. There's a lot of surprisingly realistic equipment and good world building. I cant say too much as its extremely easy to spoil. point being I would recommend anyone watch it and its now done and concluded which a (in my opinion) good ending.
Girls last Tour
2 girls chilling in a post apocalyptic wasteland on a kettenkrad. Its a very chill show and the first half definitely had me gawking over some of the abandoned equipment. Its not a must watch but I think anyone would enjoy it.

Have you played HOI4? have you ever played Kaiserriech for HOI4? now imagine that with a grounded magic system and a psychopathic loli protagonist and you got Tanya. If you like Hearts of Iron you will probably like this anime.

@@Lewd-Tenant_IsanI haven’t watched it since it aired so I don’t exactly remember much about it but I do remember JSDF vs Fantasy scenes, damn those were cool. There’s also a lot of anime I have heard about but never watched like Zipang which is an anime about a modern Japanese naval vessel going back in-time to world war 2 or Izetta which is about a witch that flies around on an anti-tank rifle fighting in a not quite world war 2 similar to Tanya.

I also can relate as someone who was addicted to WT for years but grew to hate Gaijin and their decisions, albeit I was primarily an air player- which also meant that once I started playing real flight sims like the IL-2 series and DCS I never looked back, being an easy out compared to the tank situation as far as I can tell
Gaijin should rethink the game, really. The problem is they have figured out a way to make money, and the base toxicity is difficult to address once the shareholders are getting paid.

Gup is the perfecr anime for me as it combines my love for tanks with my love for cute anime girls resulting in one of the best experiences ever. I could watch it countless times and still feel equally as hype and excited about it. It just is that much of a masterpiece.
And yeah i only play war thunder for the tanks but i agree the game is definetly not fun...

Yk, a part of me wants to love this, I kinda have a respect for Japan and the culture, especially the automotive industry and how some of the greatest car and motorcycle manufacturers come from Japan. The Honda NSX and the Suzuki Hayabusa are some of my all-time favourites.
But honestly I'm on the fence about watching anime, my family being hard time Conservatives, I don't think it'd go over too well with them.
I was also once THAT nerd guy, and I've tried to stay as far as I could from that perception. To the point of having to ask 'is this too cringe?' Whenever I discover something and wonder if I should indulge. GuP sounds like fun, but idk if i'll see it anytime soon.
