I beg you to stop playing moves like g6 and then proceeding to trade ur dark squared bishop😭😭 THEN C5 UR ASKING FOR UR KING TO GET SLAUGHTERED. also dont go for pawn breaks when ur opponent is striking at u with h4 - Ng5, Developp and castle. Not trying to be like that I love seeing you do good! keep it up! just trynna help:) Ps: I recently crossed 2000 after 5 years of playing and I feel so achieved I worked so hard for this. Dont want my message to come off wrong or anything Just trying to spread positivity. Btw I love watching you play because I relate to your thought process. Keep it up man great stuff !

Or maybe Tom just likes being on the ropes.

Congrats on 2000! And yes, this opening was a complete disaster.

I crossed 1000 yesterday.... Reached 1090 but then tilted back to 1000... I came this far by Karo kann and London... So I thank tom for Karo kann lines

I think you need to find some universal opening which you know well and enjoy to play. Look at those London peasants. They are happy.
I watch you videos and i totally understand your thought process although im a bit more attacking and tactical. But opening part is the roughest. Seems like you often spend too much time, have no idea what to do and you don't like being in this situation. It also leads to time trouble at the end.
This is also relatable to me, my only(!) good opening is KG and i feel happy seeing e5 answer every time it happens. I hate almost every other answer.
With black it's even worse. I tried e5 and some Stafford stuff but it rarely happens then Owen, Pirc and Caro and i dislike them all now i returned to e5 answer coz there is another even crazier gambit called Busch-Gass and i couldn't resist. Now im trying to break italian boredom (which i hate from the bottom of my heart) with more weapons.
I also polished my King's Gambit by watching 50 minute video about every possible variation of it by Volclus(you can try this guy also, it's pretty easy and helpful, he has 10 "masterclass" opening guides so far. Then i forgot most of it and rewatched again and now i am more confident than ever.
Finding an opening is not easy for some people especially when they are lazy and picky like me.

I agree to some extent. I like the openings I play, but I also don’t like studying opening lines deeply as it has the least impact on my win rate imo. But I could be wrong

@@BackwardPawn I guess im a bit wrong then so sorry about that. My memory is not perfect and i watch not every video, i might overreacted over say 3 recent games with opening problems.
But i'm not about deep lines just all possible lines.

To be fair, I haven’t been enjoying the Caro Kann lately. But it comes in waves
