I have a planted 40gal tank that has veggies and bamboo growing on the sides/top of the tank but idk what to stock it with. I have some drift wood, rocks and rock hides in the tank along with black sand and plant substrate. There is a betta currently in there but he’s 6-7years old so he’s not going to live much longer. He’s my moms betta and had to go in there because it was my only tank that was cycled and had a working filter. She gave him to me last minute because she moved and the place doesn’t allow pets, not even fish. But I’m giving him the best comfortable retirement. I just want some ideas for the tank once the little guy does pass away.
do you see any nice fish besides julidochromis, calvus or bosemans paradise fish that you would be able to hold in the same tank as multifascistus or similis? 100cm long tank, 40 cm wide, 50cm high and very hard water at 18°dH general hardness. tank most likely too small for cyprichromos or paracyprichris... especially in a community tank. the second partner deciding on this doesnt like any of the 3 i mentioned first. thank you!

Thanks for watching. Me personally would do a group of larger livebearers like mollys or swordtails but that is entirely up to you.

I think you could get away with Cyprichormis. I have kept them just fine in a 40 breeder
