Made you recipe this morning and it was the bomb! I didn't add the red pepper flakes since I use hot italian sausage for the meat and it just came out wonderful! A great meal than can be enjoyed anytime of the day.

I used English (Lincolnshire) sausages in place of smoked, and I parboiled the potatoes; otherwise followed the instructions, A rainbow of colours with a rainbow of flavour.... looks yummy. The only thing i would change with mine is to not peel the potato you will peel away all the nutrition. I never peel my potatoes. I will try this recipe

Great, simple recipe. Made it for dinner (but used some leftover beef hot dogs and a little liquid smoke, because I wanted to use them up before they spoiled.) Worked well, but next time, I will try it with actual smoked sausage. Loved the video. Great presentation and such a warm, inviting presence! Keep up the good work! I will be perusing your recipes for sure! Oh, and I used bacon grease instead of oil. Good, but probably overkill, so it will be oil next time.

Hi Chef Pam. I am always seeking a better smoked sausage dish, since I have access to so many types of fresh sausage. My family said they could not handle another Thursday night Sausage w/ cabbage, potatoes, and onions. I have found it, thanks to you of course. I haven't prepared this yet, but I need some advice. My family won't eat crushed red pepper flakes, instead we always substitute Frank's Hot Sauce. Will this recipe work with Franks? We all love the heat but not the texture of pepper flakes. Anyone tried it? Thanks, and please keep cooking the good stuff!
Absolutely! Just don't pour so much that its soggy. I love Franks! Its my favorite. They have a dried franks hot spice now too. I use it instead of pepper flakes quite often and on popcorn lol. Its at my Walmart
What temps and times for each step? For instance the potatoes are cooked on what heat and for how long?? And what is the purpose of the last step with wetting the lid and covering, how does that work to seal in the flavors??
