About the water: I'm from the Netherlands too and I live on 10 minute walking distance from the sea and the water has always felt kind of disgusting. But, yes, blue water like that actually exists. I went to Turkey a few years back and the water was shockingly blue.
Fun fact though: the more blue sea water looks, the dirtier it is. Our sea is actually one of the cleaner seas in Europe (which you wouldn't say from the color)
