WELCOME TO CHAI TALK EVERYBODY! We’re so happy you’re here and we can’t wait to share more! 👀☕️ We’re still working on all the audio and recording process so it’s only going to get better from here ♥️
Hey! Don’t leave your beautiful mama after marrying 🥺 i wish I could stay with my parents after marriage but em a girl :( still i think about how to keep them with me after marrying In Shaa Allah
This podcast is so relatable for all us Desi kids growing up in the west . So many questions are topics of their own. Really looking forward to the next podcast ✌🏻
I’m a mom to two girls that have entered their teenage years and I’m frankly terrified. I can understand mamajee’s feelings, but I can also understand yours Wajeeh. I’m afraid that would be my kids in a few years. Striking the balance between loving your kids and keeping them aligned to our religion and culture, is so tough. But besides that, the podcast is awesome, I couldn’t believe how honest and raw you were, I didn’t think you would open up like that but it was refreshing! Keep it up!
For clarity, Wajeeh hasn’t posted any content in over two years, so today feels like a Eid of sorts. Super exciting podcast, and I’m so happy to see you re-upload again. ❤🤲🏻
Loved this! I am a Indian born/raised in Dubai and then moved to New Zealand when I was 15. My parents think like mama jee too 😂😅 I can totally relate.
So interesting seeing the similarities of viewpoints with my parents and mama jee that are soooo relatable. It’s funny how desi parents often don’t have actual open honest conversations with their kids about things like marriage relationships etc. Looking forward to the rest of this podcast series 👌🏼
Episode was great. Your mom cracked me up. "You're a decent player"🤣🤣. A couple of notes, audio could use a bit of work. Also, as a Pashtun who never learned Urdu, could you add subtitles? That would be great. Other than that, can't wait for the next one.
I'm a British Pakistani girl and I can relate to so much of this. I think it's amazing that you take the time to listen to your mum and you take in her thoughts because mashallah she's had a lot of experiences so she's sending you that love. Alhumdulillah your mum is a huge blessing - may Allah SWT bless her always. She hit the nail on the head when she said you should look for someone that is God fearing, caring and loving when you're looking for a spouse. There's a hadith that says that Prophet Muhamad (PBUH) said that the first two things you should look for in a spouse are their deen (level of faith in Islam) and also their character. Everything else is all to do with the man and woman's preferences and if they're interested in one another. Islamically, you can choose your spouse and it's fully up to the individual whether they want to marry someone or if they do not want to. Of course, you would want the support of your family though. It's okay for people to make suggestions to you but ultimately it's an individual's own choice who they wish to marry. It's against Islam for people to force anyone and sadly there are a lot of media misconceptions of that because Islamically, you can choose who you marry. It's good to get your family's advice but it's your decision at the end of the day. Also, if you like someone then you should tell your family or parents even if it's difficult because you're making things better for you and for the person you wish to marry by being open about it. This extends to if you meet someone you like and they like you too, they should encourage you to do pursue things in a halal way because that's how a couple can protect each other from sinning plus you get barakat within your marriage and relationships inshallah if you strive to pursue it in a halal way. It's all about respect, care and love. Subhanallah. I hope Allah SWT showers his blessings on you, Mama Jee, Papa Jee, Ahmed, Aymen and everyone else. Sending duas to you all from the UK! Your mum is so delightful and so beautiul mashallah.
Bro this is so helpful. Im a desi. My mom's exactly your mom. That thing about mothers having too much attachment for their kid relates to my life so deep. They dont like when i travel and stay away from home. I'd love to heaar more the psych of Desi parents unfiltered. It was a great chat!
Im enjoying this as a non desi! I know you will get better over time, but i do suggest you add captions and translations for those who dont understand your language or arent desi like me. Keep it up!
the last one was actually a very good question. and to have such a clear answer is so refreshing. we want men with a mentality like that in our desi households. and it's not that the girl is going to be the only one to benefit, everyone will be going to benefit from it.
As a mom of young children, I always have this fear of raising my children in the western side of the world. Would like another podcast focusing on this topic!
Omg we need more brown podcasts everything was so relatable i have the same arguments with my mom about marriage but from a female perspective its so toxic you should bring your sister in
I live away from my mom and I'm studying Whenever I see your mum I miss my mom Not because of how she scolds vou But because of how much care and concern there is behind every question It is evident how proud she is of you Ahmed and ayman Allah bless your family Baaki your mamajee is a legend ❤❤ MashAllah
This is so exciting! Looking forward to future episodes! Congrats on this new venture to you both 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Also PLEASEEEE bring Aymen as a guest on the next one!
This is so relatable, I'm first generation to parents from Honduras and el Salvador, I got placed in private school and sent to high school where there wasn't many Hispanic groups literally to nothing but white people, they did way more stupid things then my group of friends, junior year of high school I freaked out about being pushed to support my parents and expected to marry I jumped ship and went to the military best decision I ever did, I studied and worked hard achieved my goals , now in my 30s enjoying and not going to lie I didn't run the course of what my parents expected I felt I couldn't breath, my nieces and nephews have followed my foot steps and everyone has gone to school , and both my parents now are so proud that I didn't stay at home and I get to spoil them without feeling like I have to.
Pretty cool concept for a podcast - definitely missing this desi dynamic in the podcast world. Would love if there was subtitles when speaking Hindi/Urdu though
At 00:20:37, Mama jee refers to Indians as "Sambhar Idly!" I understand the India-Pakistan animosity but as an Indian who enjoys & admires her work, I was a little hurt. I'm not saying we should fake love for each other but at least, let's not refer to each other frivolously. This could be perceived as racist. :(
Wajeeh you had the most unfiltered answers and i completely on your side on the marriage agenda and living separate with wife. I am a mother too but i want to have a healthy relation with my son in future and i want him to stay in a separate place with his family beacuse that is what Islam teaches us. This is so basic. Hopefully mamaji understands it which i know she will not because she is a mother and mother's heart is feeble. She is just being fearfull of loneliness as she is old. Just live near her place and visit daily. That's the solution i can give.
I can't believe after what your mom said about marrying your dad, she still goes and said that you will marry a girl she likes for you. Why do parents think people shouldn't talk before marriage as if their marriages were amazing all the time and everything can be solved by compromising.
About year ago I found your RUclips channel and went through all videos. I used to wait for your videos and you didn't post a single . Today after sooo long got to see you back and it feels exciting . You should post continuesly
This is the funniest podcast I’ve ever watched!! I love it!!!! I also want to become a lawyer inshAllah, but I recently began my freshman year in college
Atleast mama ji didn’t lie about what she wants and who she wants her son’s to marry. Coz ppl behind camera lie a lot and she didn’t. I love that attitude. Plus yes we as mothers can be a little bit of possessive about their son’s what bad in it whole life they have taken care of the kids and if they want something back from them in some manner its okay. Plus I am sure she will come down and compromise on few things. But honesty is something you don’t get out of ppl and this was the best podcast and an honest one. Oh and let me add when a girl marries and comes to a new house which is hers too she also shouldn’t be to possessive abt the husband coz they also get on nerves on things which are unnecessary also. So everyone should come down and compromise on things coz no one is perfect!
I've been waiting on this, haha. There were so many good moments. Mama Jee said, 'You know better' when she demanded her biscuits, lol. The way her eyes bulged out as soon as you said you met up with girls in high school. Her response of 'It's not cap' to you saying 'it's cap'. Then her reply to the player topic, 'You're a nice James Bond' and her telling you, 'There's a jinn inside of you' That heel would have rocked your jaw; I was afraid for you. Her explanation for body count was hilarious. It's the poetry for me followed with 'in your dreams baby'. This was a great first episode - I can't wait for more. I'm so surprised your hairline hasn't pushed back; this stressed me tf out lol - my mum is the same with the 'I have seen the life' mentality when she's barely seen the outside world at all, haha. Also, keep travelling. Would love to know Mama Jee's story and the story of how you got the house!
Thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so nice knowing you both. Looking forward to see more episodes. And please bring in Ahmed too. I am so curious to know about him as well. He kinda look shy and introverted. I really want to know him.
I enjoyed this very much! ❤ I agree with an earlier comment about subtitles/captions. I don’t speak the language and I would love to be able to understand everything you say to each other. Also, you may want to move the clock. It’s distracting. We’ll done! Looking forward to the next one!
Hey wajeeh, I've been following your content for the longest of time and this has me so excited. I want to watch this with my mum and she wants to but she specifically said ask wajeeh and mama jee to make these in urdu so you're fam in pak can enjoy too
As an Arab, my parents thinks the exact same! I can relate to the hitting, when we didn’t behave my dad would hit us with a watering hose, but hey it paid off, we’re disciplined 😂
WELCOME TO CHAI TALK EVERYBODY! We’re so happy you’re here and we can’t wait to share more! 👀☕️

When you were getting frustrated trying to explain your POV to your mom I FELT THAT IN MY SOUL 😭😂 can't wait for more episodes!!
This podcast is so relatable for all us Desi kids growing up in the west .
So many questions are topics of their own. Really looking forward to the next podcast ✌🏻
The question you handled about body count with such dignity ..... Wajeh you are a pro man ...😂😂😂😂 Hats off to you ma

Hahahahaha that marriage part had me dead.. mumma jee so wrong but so confident…” I am toxic , kerna jo kerlo “ 😂😂😂😂
For clarity, Wajeeh hasn’t posted any content in over two years, so today feels like a Eid of sorts. Super exciting podcast, and I’m so happy to see you re-upload again. ❤🤲🏻

Omg. The body count question had me cracking 😂. Aunty is so innocent. Love her 💖🇮🇳
Wait Wajeeh, I'm loving this dating advice. I think you could totally do an episode leaning around that topic. She's killin it
I love this! It takes a lot for parents to apologise for the things they have done or made you feel whether intentionally or unintentionally.
i love how pure and desi she is 😭🩷
This is going to get picked up by Spotify, you guys have struck gold

All subjects were interesting but 1 advice is to make every podcast about a single subject , since all these subjects are very deep
Bro wajeeh is a whole funny vibe 😂 but I could say desi moms and Hispanic moms have similarities when it comes to old gen mom discipline.
You are so lucky man, you have amazing mother ❤
Need more of this
Ahaaa I love this! Can’t wait for moreeee
This had me laughing gotta love mamma g’s energy and wajeeh’s reaction🤣😅😂👌🏻👌🏻
