    Great tutorial! I'm going to clean out the assembly on the 81' Cobra this weekend. I have a new blower motor but it just doesn't blow very hard. I bet it's full of rats nest just like yours was. Nobody has the fox bodys around here though...a spray bottle with some listerine mix usually takes care of smells...that's what they use to treat fire damaged houses... Thanks for the info!

    After seeing the condition of yours, I think a removal and cleaning is instore for mine before even turning it on. Car sat for many years and I know mice were inside my interior. Cowl was not bad but this definitely needs to be done! Thanks for the vid!

      Right on! You bet. Yeah, I tried at first to clean from fresh air door and no way you can get all debris out that way. Then I saw how easy it was to remove.

    Good tips, also for the blower motor, think about taking them apart and cleaning up and well. Super easy to do and it may save you from buying new.

      Yeah in your case you can drop the entire HVAC unit, if you dont want to use AC or Heat. I have a vid on heater core replacement on the 86 and complete dash removal....if you just want to pull it. Lots of folks do this for their race cars.

    Good work! Do you have some sort of diagram of the vacuum lines that run under the dash for the HVAC? I had to put a heater core and evaporator core I mine, but my vacuum lines are all jacked up.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  2 года назад

      I dont, Im sure the googles has it somewhere. Man, its really pretty easy. Only i source vacuum that goes in from the engine bay feeds it all. The HVAC controls are the only other lines and they are all on a vacuum plug, so unless you pulled each line out, its plug and play. The canister on the blend door also has a connection, and it goes to that hvac plug.

    What is the purpose of that flapper plate on the blower? Recirc air? Or Re-Direct air to the footwell? Or something else?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  2 года назад +1

      Its in cabin recirc. It opens when on "max-air" so the intake becomes the footwell and recirculates the air to cool it. This is my when putting your AC on MAX it tends to get louder as well.

    took my heater blower housing out on my 1991 5.0 Coupe and reinstalled it, now the air blows out of the defrost vent on any setting..how do you fix that?

    • @MN-vw2lo
      @MN-vw2lo Год назад

      One of your vacuum doors is probably stuck, check the one behind the radio from the driver side

    • @MN-vw2lo
      @MN-vw2lo Год назад

      Or maybe the vacuum line on the box broke when you removed it, the default is the defrost so it could be a vacuum leak

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  3 года назад

      Could be a number of things. If I had to guess the plastic "tubes" that connect out hvac box to the vents are disconnected/broken. That or the impeller wheel is broken, OR the AC avap clogged, or...vacuum issue, and the door is not actuated, but if this was the case all air defaults to the windshield vents (if HVAC box has no vacuum)
