You can expect his English to be much better because he won a scholarship to learn directing at a famous school in New York for a year. I hope you are as excited as I am to see how well his diction will be since he’s been in New York since the end of last year. I’m sure the NY Film School is making accommodations as he still continues to sing at special events during the year. It will be exciting to see his hand as he begins to direct more of his own videos. You can also see that in the process of him earning his PhD in his country, you can see him using folk song techniques that haven’t been seen in decades and possibly centuries such as when he bounces notes off his vocal cords. We are beginning to see hints of his new (or really old & lost techniques) that he brings to the stage. We will soon be in for some incredible vocal techniques. I personally can’t wait to hear the things he’s recently mastered. I just hope more people realize how lucky we are to have such a special singer, composer and director - a talent only seen once in a generation or two.

He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Kobysz for that.
The kobys is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and, like the dombra, very widespread among Kazakhs. The man who often plays the Kobys in Dimash's performances (like here in Stranger) is the best on the instrument and a very good friend of Dimash's. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. This instrument can often be heard when Dimash sings songs in his native language such as Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter.
He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range. And the last note he held for 20 seconds.
Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He came out of retirement specifically to work with Dimash when he first heard him. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range (no kidding), like Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You'll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It's more of a father-son relationship.
Please also react to his first song in Japanese, Ikanaide. Means 'don't go', Ikanaide has a sad but true backstory.
Ikanaide was written by the Japanese singer Koji Tamaki in 1989.
This song is sooo beautiful❤️. And he performed it with so much emotions. You literally can feel his pain😪. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from the studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine! Super Brothers.
If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅.

We get your point about how the song was sang. I say, it is a matter of style. Many times, singers differ on how to interpret a song and sometimes their interpretation is being influenced by the place they came from. But I love the song. It is apparent that in the beginning those humans who migrated to a different land were full of uncertainties about the kind of life they will be having in that foreign land. But in the end, they gathered enough nerves and made a forceful decision to go on and face whatever life they will have in that stranger's land.

Such a great reaction! Thanks. Musicianship is evolving and so are RUclips music reactors……it’s fun to watch this symbiotic relationship twirl and collide. When Dimash came on the scene years ago, so many would not react to him just out of stubbornness or vocal snobbery, but if they stay with him , even reluctantly out of audience pressure, most often Dimash finally earns their professional respect. Watching the reactor change as much as Dimash does is an education and entertainment in itself. Thanks again for your journey with Dimash. I have been here all the way and learned much from your channel.

Yes, Dimash has been getting up on stage with his parents, both well respected Singers, since before the age of 2! So, the stage IS his second home. The Kobyz is a very old 2 stringed instrument, originating from Kazakhstan and surrounding region and is one of the forebears of all our modern stringed instruments today. Originally carved of a single piece of wood ( often Birch, Willow or Apricot ) with strings of horse hair and the sound chamber traditionally lined with goat skin. In ancient times its use was restricted to Shamans and Medicine Men as it was believed that it's haunting sound had the power to drive out evil spirits and heal the sick.
Stranger was composed by Igor 'for the voice of Dimash' { after all, who else on the planet could sing it!?} and it's performance premiered at this 2021 New Wave Competition for newly emerging young singers. Dimash was a Headline Act and Guest Judge. Dimash and Igor provided valuable performance experience to the New Wave young competitors by involving them in this, and also their Ave Maria pieces, as the Backing Choir. These two songs, and Fly Away were all new compositions presented at this event.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than twelve(12) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. 👉That is the premiere of this song at the New Wave in 2021. Maestro Igor Krutoy and Dimash Qudaibergen have created the really unique song in English with enchanting oriental melodies. “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience... I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”. - Krutoy said. (dimashnews)
A Dear hits the nail on the head with this statement: “These are the voices of the world singing the tragedy of human migration forced by tragic circumstances.”
At the piano Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/ Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.
Dimash said also in an interview about the collaboration with Igor Krutoy that it is important to him that the songs are written in such a way that there is room for variations ... so every performance of a song is a surprise and every Dear can choose his favorite presentation... I can not decide.
The lyrics were written by Mary Sharon Vaughn (*1947, American musician, songwriter and producer. She writes hits for famous singers around the world, including Lara Fabian)

Dimash and the composer of this song, Igor Krutoy (at the piano), often use archetypes in their music. This epic piece evokes the journey of soul (wandering in ancient times, haunted by memories, and lost loves ) as it finds itself in an expanded state of awareness (new ground, chance to know who I am, begin again). Hesitantly at first, he even stumbles a bit, but with growing confidence, Dimash takes us on a journey and with that last refrain, he totally owns this new ground.
Like in many of his arrangements, Dimash incorporates sacred music traditions of different cultures and ages into something uniquely his own. The music of ancient cultures often used chants, overtone singing, and melismatic techniques to induce a hypnotic trance in the listener. Dimash is not only aware of the power of music to alter one’s state of consciousness, he wields this power masterfully, but always with great respect. His friend since his teenage years, Erlan Bekchurin, is a brilliant arranger and knows exactly what Dimash wants to accomplish. Together they create magic. Dimash insisted on the use of the kobyz, an instrument which was used in Kazakh shamanism to communicate with spirits, and it fits beautifully. The best Kobyz player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbeck, performs masterfully as always.

Muchas gracias.

Thank you so much for your genuine reaction to Dimash!
Stranger is his original song, composed specifically for him by Maestro Igor Krutoy (the man who accompanied him on the piano in the video). It was Dimash’s idea to incorporate the beautiful and haunting sound of the Qobyz, the traditional Kazakh two string instrument, masterfully played by Olzhas Kurmanbek: what a brilliant addition to the composition of Stranger! It gives much more depth to the meaning of the song. As you can see, Dimash is not the mere interpreter of that song, but was also involved in its creative process.
Thus, listening to Stranger is in and of itself a musical journey where we’re accompanying Dimash through this “stranger’s land” with each and every vocal technique and singing style which denotes a different culture and path in life. I love how he uses his voice to tell us a story.
    Cheers from Texas!
P.S.: May I suggest you react to those 2 beautiful duets? Of course, take your time and enjoy listening to Dimash with all of us!

KOBYZ is the name of the string instrument. KOBYZ With 2 strings made of horse hair. The oldest string instrument in the world, from Kazhakstan. KOBYZ.. lol.. KOBYZ. This song is about re-birth.. 9 women and 9 men. Someone wrote that in a comment. I guess it`s thrue. Now the rumour say he has a range of 7.7 And the whistle tone D8, you can hear in his original song "AN UNFORGETTABLE DAY GAKKU LIVE VERSION 2017". He usually do a lower whistle tone but failed for the first time in the 2017 version, and instead the D8 came out of his mouth. Best regards from Norway.

👉 Here is playing the best Kobys player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbeck.
This bowl-neck lute played with a bow is is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys, Qobyz or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz variant, for example, is called the kyl-kyyak.
The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and, according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of Central Asia and became the mother (prototype) of all European string instruments.
(Turkic means: The Turkic peoples are a collection of ethnic groups from Central, East, North and West Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa who speak Turkic languages. Difference between Turkic and Turkish - ruclips.net/video/PqxhtBecVeg/видео.html )
A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe narrator Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. In addition, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music.
The old outlook and piety towards their instruments and music was constantly preserved in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing the Kobyz.

Amazing reaction. Thank you very much. ❤ I don't want you to be confused about the meaning of this song. It took us, his fans, a long time to decode his message. ''Stranger'' is a rebirth. Reincarnation. Celebrating the coming of new life. ''Stranger'' is the first masterpiece of the Dimash's trilogy.
That's how I call it.😉😁 It symbolizes rebirth. This performance is full of symbols. Everything - the music, his voice, his movements, lyrics, the whole staging, the lights, the slowly moving light circle behind Dimash at the very beginning, absolutely everything you see and hear symbolizes the whole birth
process, from the beginning to the end. At the beginning 9 man and 9 women carry candles /the small light of life/. They hide Dimash. The spinning orb of light behind him in the background shows the deep space from where our souls arrive. The crazy melisma and high notes in the middle of the song symbolizes mother's pain. At the moment he was born, the candles go out
and the stage goes on fire. His fist punch and coming to the front of the stage means he was born. His longest note at the end shows his very first breath and it means I've ARIVED. Absolutely mind blowing performance.
The second one - Fly Away, is our life path, the matrix in which we live. The spinning globe at the back ground all the time, shows the scale of this matrix.
Again, everything in this performance is full of symbols - the creepy zombies at the begining, the dancers movements, Dimash's movements, the lyrics... Everything evokes the feeling of rebellion. Dimash fights with this matrix and he desperately wish to escape of it. He is the only one who refuse to dance the matrix dance. The Matrix tries to seduce him, but he fights the temptation and wants to fly away to find his own way. He finally manages to escape and witnesses the death of everyone left in it.
And the final song of this trilogy is Ave Maria. That's our soul's fly to the heaven. Absolutely stunning masterpiece . A phenomenal trilogy. Phenomenal Dimash. He is a very deep and wise soul. His songs are always very meaningful and the messages he sends to people are extremely strong. Not only his voice, the lyrics and his body movements paint the picture of the message, but the stage setting and atmosphere are also part of the concept of the idea of a complete performance. He is Broadway.

Last summer I went to see Lea Salonga (Broadway and Disney Princess fame) at the Rady Shell in San Diego home of the S.D. Symphony. The concert was a gift from a friend and boy was I glad it was a gift and I didn't pay for it ha ha! She came on this giant stage with a 4 piece band and a black curtain about 15 feet wide and 10 or 12 feet tall, just enough to give her and her band a "background"; no screen, no images, no lights - this little ensemble in on this massive stage in this giant venue - like something that should be more appropriate for a lounge. She stood at the mic and only moved her hands and arms or sat and only moved her hands and arms. Every song sounded like the last, same treatment, just different melody and lyrics. After hearing Dimash other singers just seem so novice or basic. Her dynamic volume range was so narrow, no effects on the voice at all, she never sang really soft and delicate and intimate - there was the same kind of quieter singing every time she sang her soft sections; and the same kind of loud singing in every climax in every song. By half way thru this BORING concert, I wanted to leave; every song was so predictable, absolutely NOTHING unique, no surprises, no originality - just singing broadway songs the way every other broadway singer sings them....boring 2 outfits, boring predictable arrangements. After Dimash it is SO hard to listen to anyone else, singers I once thought were "great", now just seem so simple, so basic, like novices, like listening to old artists from the 30s and 40s where the way they were recorded sounds so out dated, simple and bland and equally true is this description in regards to their dynamics and vocal range. Dimash is so exciting with the sound effects added to his voice, creating arrangements never dreamed of, using his voice in ways I would never even have thought to do, just a thrilling theatrical exciting dynamic unique original brilliant genius of an artist - with exciting set designs and lighting too......Lea Solanga and so many other singers "sound like...." just another broadway singer, like any other broadway singer....or this singer sounds like Whitney or Maria....but DImash sounds like no other singer, sings like no other singer ever has and likely never will be able to!! Such a new fresh original approach to music and it is so very refreshing and thrilling!

I love the Qobyz (kobyz)! It works beautifully in Stranger and has the appropriate, epic sound that helps propel this song . Although I love Dimash’s voice and accent, there are a few words that he misses on occasion and this has one of the small mistakes that has bugged me a teeny bit- Though instead of Through. Sigh. I forgive him (the overall piece is one of my favourites), but I cringe ever so slightly every time I hear this small mistake. Another one that arises is during The Story of One Sky with Fury grave instead of fiery grave. I choose to ignore these things and enjoy the music but I wonder if others have noticed these little errors? Enjoy your reaction! Cheers!

@@Gokash4672 I love the song - and Dimash is definitely improving in his English! - it is only a momentary flinch (not as significant as a cringe, but it’s reflexive- I cannot help reflex reactions). Truly the only reason I asked is to confirm if others have noticed- I have a husband whose first language is not English and he has pushed me to constantly correct his English. For many years, I overlooked his mistakes because I found them charming (and believe me when I say that Dimash is far more charming when he speaks English!), but I also believe that someone on Dimash’s team should confirm the words with Dimash before he debuts a new song. Sometimes pronunciation changes the meaning of the words. It is not enough to make me stop listening, but a gentle reminder that lyrics have been written intentionally and it is respectful to learn them as well as possible. Cheers and respect from Canada!

Dimash has sung songs in many different languages that he does not speak, nor understands. Yet, out of respect and love for his Fans, he tries his best to please them by singing in the Host Country’s language. I don’t see the Chinese, Germans, Spaniards, Koreans, Armenians, Turkish and, French Fans up in arms over his accent or mispronunciation. If it is so cringy (your word) then may I suggest you get in touch with Dimash’s team with your advise. This is not the right platform for your remarks. We are all Fans here to support him. Besides, your comments achieve absolutely nothing here. We are here to listen to Ken Levine give us and his students advise and reaction on the vocals. Think about that! He holds himself to a truly high level and I believe he is constantly trying to improve (on what I consider to be almost perfection!) and I don’t believe that anyone appreciates pandering!
