  • @zebrion5793
    @zebrion5793 3 года назад +29

    The craziest thing isn't that he hit that note - it's that he held it AND added vibrato. Any singer knows that when you're in an uncomfortable range of your voice, vibrato is impossible/difficult. That means that he is COMFORTABLE at that range. Right before he hits it here, he shakes the mic like he did before, but what I think was happening is that he hit a note that was too high for the equipment/our ears to pick up - because it looks like he is actually singing during that time - and then he realized it, reset, and went "down" to the D8.
    This dude is a literal superhuman.

  • @juyifan7933
    @juyifan7933 3 года назад +167

    Basically he made a mistake. In the original arrangement he was supposed to sing a G7. But the whistle didnt come out. So to make up for it he tried to go as high as he could next and the D8 came out.

If you want to see Dimash go on his knees, you need to watch him sing "Adagio", "The Show Must Go On", and Confessa/ Diva Dance on "The Singer 2017." Keep in mind that he was only 22 yrs. of age when he performed on that show. He was the first foreigner and the youngest in the show's history, and the other performers were professional and established singers 12-39 yrs, his senior.

    I think he had the same issue in the Singer show with the same song. You can see him shaking his mic, nothing comes out, gets frustrated then in less than a second decides to improvise a gorgeous run in his soprano voice!
    It's just a reminder that he's human, he can miss notes but what is admirable is that he doesn't give up... Very professional!

    • @prinymitywebdesign
      @prinymitywebdesign 3 года назад +5

      It was actually amazing how he did that and all the vocal coaches I have seen react to that one miss it or don't mention it, when it is pretty epic, because to come back so quickly was nothing short of amazing and for sure it does show his human side. He is amazing and he spent hours to get there but what is best of all is how humble he is about it. Also this guy mentioned lip syncing and I must admit I can't imagine him lip syncing especially when he has done more than one performance while he was sick, and I have seen concerts where he really wears down his voice and improvises a lot, which I get, makes sense. Another part of him being human, so if he did lip sync the guy doing this video should do some research and say why since I can't imagine Dimash lip Syncing unless there was a really good reason for it. Only my opinion though.

    • @zeustn9525
      @zeustn9525 3 года назад +8

      @@prinymitywebdesign Dimash *does* lip sync sometimes depending on the conditions set by the producers for some shows. Sometimes it's only small sections of his songs like the last run in Sinful passion, sometimes it's a whole song like I miss you. But honestly if it allows him to sing longer and preserve his voice, that's totally fine by me. We all know that he can sing them live and that he actually recorded those songs anyway so we shouldn't be defensive about it.

    • @prinymitywebdesign
      @prinymitywebdesign 3 года назад +5

      @@zeustn9525 you are right, but the thing is you explain it better. Lip syncing has got a bit of a bad reputation so if the person took the time to explain it as you did, I just feel that it covers things better because people can take things in a weird way and they hear lip sync associate it with that perhaps he always lip syncs because lets face it, the guy is really talented and many vocal coaches have said what he does is out of this world. Even Tara Simon pointed out that you cannot teach that to someone. It is their unique skill. I do appreciate your full explanation and it makes sense. Putting al that pressure on your vocal cords all the time, will have him fried before the age of 30. Thanks again!

    This lipsyncing was not a Dimash's choice and not because he can't sing, but because of the big event. It was the choice of the show organizer and TV. Nobody can sing like Dimash, he doesn't need to lipsync... So I think it would be fair don't to talk about Dimash's lipsyncing at all.

As for the "silence" just before he hits the D8, and this is my theory and I am sticking to it, he hit an even higher note and realizing that our human ears did not pick it up, dropped down to a D8. In relation to the in ear piece, many people know that there are other devices that replace them and provide with the same function (usually placed on the stage floor) and the fact that Dimash has been trainned as an opera singer also provides him with the tecnique to sing without many of these devices and still project his voice.

    In September 2017, Dimash performed 5 songs live at Gakku, including “Unforgettable Day” (2015) and “My Beauty (2012); which are two of his own compositions.
    He sang as the headliner at the Gakku Open-Air Festival in Almaty, Kazakhstan to a crowd of 150,000 people. Dimash also sang “Daididau”, “My Star” and “Give Me Love”; which are also fan favourites. It has been documented, that when Dimash does not have back up singers on stage with him, he pre-records his own backing vocals.
    Before this event, his highest recorded note was G#7 in whistle register, on par with Mariah Carey. At the Gakku Festival, he surpassed himself by hitting D8 during "Unforgettable Day".

The audience will not know, that this one note was wrong if you don't SHOW it. Dimash shaked his head when the tone not work. And I love him more for that fact than for reaching the D8. He shows us: yeah, I am a human and I make mistakes.

    I like the fact that after 8-9 seconds of hitting that whistle note someone in the audience tries to match it with an actual whistle

    Thanks for recognizing Dimash time after time! Please continue, because we just love you to react to him. As you now, he has way more to offer, even after all you have allready seen. He did a song called “be with me” which is sooooo surprising, fun and sexy! I 🙏 he will release it soon!! If he doesn’t reach top of the charts in the USA with that song?!?!?! Not me... they should eat their shoes! 😉

      Here in America, they only care what's popular, and what's popular is usually low-quality and copy and pasted songs. Makes me sad most will never fully understand how amazing this guy is

    • @ceceliaoliveira4550
      @ceceliaoliveira4550 3 года назад +2

      Hogue Music I know! That’s exactly how I feel. It’s so true. To me it’s low quality for sure but to most they think it’s all fantastic. I just don’t get it. To me it’s nothing but that. Let’s face it, most of the good quality of music and great vocalists minimally exists in this era. I just think today’s song melodies and let’s not forget most of their lyrics are substandard/inferior to those of decades ago. That’s my opinion anyway. Well, for those that feel differently, that’s all fine with me. If that’s what they enjoy that’s great. I certainly have stopped enjoying it for a long time now and very seldom even listen anymore. Wait a minute I don’t!!!!🤣😂😅🤪😜

    Is an amazing performance. .......Greetings from a Mexican Dear! ❤️🇲🇽❤️🇰🇿

    Dears from the West, let's bring Dimash to #1 on fan's competition in MTV USA Friday Livestream ( 5 to 8 PM). Just register and vote REQUEST DIMASH. No need to add any emoji otherwise your request will be not accounted. Dears from the East are voting 17 weeks, but for that part of planet it is very difficult time (middle of night or daybreak ) and many of Dears can't vote. Tvitter is not available in some of countries 😢. DIMASH holds #2 place because of lack of amount of voting fans. He deserves to be # 1, doesn't he?

    I subscribed. Did you know that Dimash wrote that song? The whistle note was D8, world record for the highest note sung by a human, not a human male, any human. I suspect he was calling dolphins.

    I think you are correct on the "miss note" thing when he shakes the mic a second time. I've always wondered what the purpose of shaking the mic and no sound was about. Your explanation makes a lot of sense. You are the first reactor that I've heard that caught that, and or questioned what was going on there. Thanks, you have cleared something up for me that always bugs me everytime I see this performance.

    This is just a relaxed intimate interaction performance with the audiences and fans so he just chills here. He uses that mic movement a lot of to create the voice effects as well as let them know he sings live since his pitch is perfect and people who are jealous will always say he is lip syncing.
    He is a showman, so charismatic!

    He shakes the microphone like that to prove that he's not lipsyncing. I also think he was meant to hit a whistle note on the first try but missed it, so he tried again and hit an even higher note.

  • @sitarainbow8837
    @sitarainbow8837 3 года назад +2

    You're right, he moves the mic back & forth like that to prove it's live, that it's real. So many accused him of lip-syncing back in the day, so it's his way to deal with that.
    It was a D8 - yes, off the piano. LOL, huh? :D

    As far as i know, when he performed this in The Singer competition, he felt like he can´t hit the D8 and "dodged" it in a pretty awesome way. Here he hit it :D
    The mic shake is his thing of showing that he is singing live.

      He tried to go for the G#7 in the Singer and it didn't come out. You can actually hear a tiny squeak if you listen real closely. Here he tried again to hit it, but missed so he made up for it with a D8 lol!

    I think too that he wasn't able to get the hight note from the 1st try, when he waved the mic with no sound, and then he got it from the 2nd attempt to the delight of all of us. It's not given he'll ever do this again - It's clearly a physical achievement that may not be easy to repeat.

    And that's why Dears sometimes call Dimash...D8mash🤪😂 Di wanted to sing something else, it didn't work out, so he came on a dolphin's squeak😳 His brothers on Mars must have heard it 😂 And all this live, in front of 150,000 people, in the open air, after singing a few other songs (also sensational, along with a ballet!). Thank you for your reaction, professional and specific as always 👍 Greetings from Poland🇵🇱 🙋🏻

    Opera singers who have seen this say that when that silence happened right before the D8, he didn't have enough air to start the whistle. Need a lot of air to get the whistle, so took a second breathe and with full capacity was able to get to the D8. Also, swinging the head back and forth relaxes the vocal chords and muscles, which the opera singers have said that is what they use when singing the higher notes.

    Some said that he confessed in an interview that he was trying for a seventh octave note (a usual whistle note he goes for........😐7th octave and usual?) but his voice just........well that which you saw happened........and then, he....went... for.... it..... straight up high!!!!
    Off piano!!! Wonderful!!!!!
    He doesn’t show off much, but certainly he is playful with the audience at times, like insane highs and connection with the audience. But if something goes wrong he doesn’t go for smaller, instead he says ‘why not do something big?’. And that’s what he did.
