Thank you for reacting and loving Dimash, us Dears need to get the whole world to know Dimash, to get the fame he deserves. That D8 note was his back up cause 1st one didn’t come out. On drunken concubine +diva dance Dimash did another whistle note but not as high as the D8, beautiful all the same. Diva dance is the impossible song to sing for humans from fifth element, the alien song. He sings it on numerous occasions, so easily, I love the live at bastau but that doesn’t have the whistle tone
This "Gakku" festival took place in September 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is said that the city center was paralyzed on the day of the concert. More than 150,000 spectators gathered in the central square of the city. Many came then only because of Dimash. Dimash performed at the end of the concert and sang 5 songs. It was evident that Dimash was relaxed on stage because the competition in China was behind him. The festival is not a competition, and Dimash was HOME, among his countrymen and DEARS. In the song "Unforgettable Day" he took a chance and sang D8. And before the D8 he was waving his microphone, but we didn't hear the sound. I think it was some ultra-sound that only animals hear, and people don't hear. It is said that Dimash sang D8 - "the whistling of the dolphin" and it was the longest sound of this high note. In the history of modern singing performance, the longest sound of this note. There are singers who take this high note, but for so long to keep it no one can. The music for this song was written by Dimash himself when he was 19 years old.

Highly likely the only vocalist on earth who can sing bass, baritone, tenor, counter tenor PLUS all sopranos.....is powerful and fully supported in ALL. The depths, tone, clarity, quality is stunning nkt to mention possesing the widest array of colours on his vocal palette. Everything he uses vocally is doubtlessly deliberately chosen to maximise projections, emotions, etc. And he can do them LIVE.....watch fancams.....autotune not plugged in....in his live performances.
Great singers sings to people's hearts.......Dimash sings to people's souls. He at least sings to my soul. Watch him singing Qaragym Ai (Kazakh) and Marigold (in his own sold out solo concert in Ukraine.....in Ukrainian to his mother who was in the audience).....then watch him performing LIVE.....AVE MARIA (just a vowel is all it takes, note this AVE MARIA is specially created for Dimash....not the version all other vocalists covered. I honestly doubt that there's any other vocalists on earth (at least currently) that can sing this particular piece in its original form LIVE with such quality and clarity.....and I mean all genders vocalists.....not just males or females nor in betweens.

I don't think it's a mic technique ... I think it's telling non-believers that those notes are real, it's not lipsinc like most stars who sing live ...You may notice that he also plays a microphone without emitting any voice sound just to let it be known that even his impossible notes are real.

He only did the D8 in this one performance, it was not planned, he missed the previous note and improvised! He would normally do a whistle note but usually a G7.

When Dimash takes out his left in-ear, shit is about to get crazy. He needs to hear himself to hit those ridiculous high notes. Actually, Gakku is the name of a TV channel. And this festival is arranged by Gakku yearly. This was in Almaty. He moves his mic sideways.
I think it's a popular misinterpretation that Dimash shakes his mic to prove it's live. Sometimes he does, but mostly it is to create a staccato effect. It sounds cool and is easier to do by shaking the mic than singing it. Very practical.

Dimash wrote this song at age 17 along with help from his father Kanat.
He wrote it after a beautiful day with a young lady.
He wrote it in his native tongue, Kazak.
I believe he was 19
I think it's Dimash's composition entirely. Dimash showed the melody to his friend, who then asked his songwriter father Oral Baisengir to write lyrics to it. Which he did using Dimash's help/descriptions about the topic. I heard Dimash mentioned he composed the melody at 17 (?), but there is a controversial info. Anyway, the song was released 2015.
He wrote this song when he was 19. He just released it from the digital concert he had in January. It has the subtitles in all languages. The lyrics are really touching He improvise that section every time he sings this song. I love to watch people react to this song. That crazy note Always blows people out . He is singing in his native language, Kazakh. "Sinful Passion" is in Russian. That was D8😊😊😊 and he did that spontaneously.

He shakes the mic so that people know he’s singing live! D8 is the highest note ever sung live by anyone! His voice failed him first time around (he usually does a D7), so he did a D8 instead!
I don't think he shakes the mic because of that. In most cases it's just his way to use the mic to get certain sounds, like staccato. It's easier to do by shaking a mic than singing actual staccato notes. Sounds equally cool though.

To answer your questions...he is singing in his language, Kazakh, and Gakku is the name of the Kazakhstan TV station that airs all over the world....kind of like BBC network, that brings news, concerts, etc. and is trying to bring Kazakh culture to other countries.That D8 note is OFF the piano! Thank you very much for a very good explanation. I've been his great fan for a little more than 5 years since 2017. His existence means a lot to me. I genuinely admire everything about him, his talent, voice, personality, humbleness, smiles and laughters. He's such an adorable human being, and I think I'm lucky to be able to encounter him in my lifetime.

The D8 that he sang. Dimash said that it was not planned! I don’t know why he couldn’t sing the planned note but he thought real fast and did the whistle note. He was singing in his mother tongue Kazakh.
The supposedly note is D7, which is also whistle note but not that high. Seems like he sang it higher after the first attempt failed, giving this performance the only one with the highest whistle note ever sung by any singers.

- Dimash Kudaibergen was born in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, on May 24, 1994. It is now 191 cm tall.

This Kazakh man is a young living leyend: Best Singer Ever Dimash Qudaibergen.
He has stopped doing this....but you are mistaken friend, he moves the mic side to side fast because so many have accused Dimash of lypsynching - of not singing live .....so he use to do that often to show that his voice cuts in and out as he moves the mic across his face SIDEWAYS or UP and DOWN.....now I think he doesn't feel the need to prove this any longer as he has not done this for a couple years now.....now that he is such a huge well known world wide star.....he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone!!
Dimash shakes his mic often nowadays too, it's very typical for him. It is a useful trick to get a staccato sound - easier to do by shaking mic than singing those notes. I guess in some occasions he has done this to prove live performance, but I really don't believe it's the main reason. Many of those mic shaking cases have also happened in contests - which everyone knows are live (The Singer, TWB etc).

This festival took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan in either 2017 or18. Dimash did several songs. This he did in Kazakh and wrote himself in his teens and it is favorite of us Dears. The high note was a D8 with vibrato. That is off the piano. I read that he didnt get the note out at first...not sure.

Dimash said "hitting it was an accident".
When he began moving the mic the last time you can notice nothing came out.
He said his voice failed him and he had to adjust to find a note he could hit and that note
ended up being the D8. So his voice is so trained he can hit a D8 though it is accidental.
Now, with his new song "STRANGER" he has developed his bass voice and hit a B2.
They announced a couple of weeks ago that his range is now 7 octaves 2 notes.

After he hit the D8 note, somebody from the crowd whistled (obviously on their fingers), if u noticed.... And it sounded exactly the same 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭 btw, this was the only case he hit this note in this song, usually he goes for a lower whistle in the 7th octave..... 🤪
