Have the same tool but mine is in one complete part without having to mount it together and it has worked great the 3 times I´ve replaced inner tie rods.
Very good video, to the point and clear. Repeating what @ack0011 commented earlier. That part you are removing is generally referred to as “tie- rod inner” or “inner tie-rod”. Not trying to be picky, but if you added that into the title, it would be a better search result for someone searching for this video.
Thank you buddy, I know that's the inner tie rod, but if I put that in the title it gets to smaller audience as usually people just search for tie rod removal tools.
A lot of time she has you could use a wrench or a crescent wrench pipe wrench channel locks, but in a lot of cases, location and where it’s at you have to use the tool there’s no way around it and sometimes it depends on the way the tire rod is designed you could take a cutting wheel Cut the shaft off and put a socket on it and break it loose and then replace it and tighten it up with a wrench that’s getting it off but put it back on some of these inner tire rod hinge. You must use the tool I’ve done it for too many years I found where I could get into places on some of them with just regular ranches or channel locks, but you have to use a tool there’s no way around it
@@MrNiceGuy94 yes. Most people when told about their mileage. The cost of the rack. The time. Opt for a whole rack. Thankfully. Since tie rod removal on some cars is annoying.
@@buysncharge I see. I haven't replaced a whole rack yet. I don't find it that bad to replace the tie rods, only sometimes the clamp on the dust cover is awkward to replace.
@MrNiceGuy94 I'm usually doing it on an older car thats getting a refresh. Sometimes for 40 bucks more you get a complete loaded steering rack. And it comes with a warranty. Some rebuilt loaded racks are under 300. Some are over 1000. Some a lot more if electric.
when you realize that you are destroying the gearbox, you are destroying its seals. you can't, you don't read the service manual, don't do it! and don't teach people nonsense
see how the steering gear is built. by unscrewing or tightening the steering rod, you must lock the gear bar by placing it either in a vice or on the other hand, the second mechanic should block the bar. otherwise you unscrew the whole worm mechanism in the gear, there is play, the gear starts to knock and oil starts to leak. how many times the transmission started leaking after replacing the rods at the mechanic's and the user was not even aware that the mechanic broke it. that's how you don't replace the rods, although I'm not saying that maybe it will be good after such an exchange, or maybe not. mechanics is not a lottery. @@MrNiceGuy94
service procedures say to use a tool that locks the bar. and no one has such tools except authorized dealers. so either the second mechanic holds the bar from the other side of the car when we unscrew the rod or remove the steering gear and lock the bar in a vice. yes, I know, it's troublesome and the customer wants fast and cheap. either cheap or good. here you have a link but to the Polish spec. the peasant regenerates gears and shows the pathology that is in this topic ruclips.net/video/u-wDD18M488/видео.html
Очень сложно вы делаете. Нужно просто отрезать часть рожкового ключа нужного размера и приварить его под 90 градусов к длиному удлинителю, и спокойно все открутить и закрутить. Пользуйтесь 😅
Not tie rod end. This is a inner tie rod tool.

Crowfoot works ok

Why don't you hold the mangle with a second key - it causes plays later.
